Yeah it would help if we could see and chip in to what needs to be added etc. I don't remember a guide when I started. I do remember getting directed to sarahs quests to make sP then buying the items and not being able to find her again :p

Proper vicious steal-your-babies kind of faeries!??

But on topic, yes, with Neo gasping it's last this is an opportunity we are NOT going to see again.

I've been pondering this for sooo long, and I'm not sure if this would actually be possible. But If AJAX requests were implemented on things like shop search/buying from shops ... wouldn't the site's performance be a bunch better?

For people not into development; AJAX requests are a method in PHP to request information from a server without having to reload the whole page. The page reloading is actually stopped, and the content you want is reloaded. So for example, if you are trying to search for an item by pressing enter, the search results would replace the search bar without reloading the page.

Again, not sure if this is possible given the current structure of coding & I know this isn't a solution to fix old coding (this is more of a performance-focused addition), but it'd grant a wider timeframe to rewrite old coding.

the sort of things that make you think hitting the back button will bring you to the last page but don't? I would HATE that. sometimes I'm searching for a bunch of different things on the shops and comparing prices and deciding what to buy. I want to be able to hit back and get the last item i searched for not the page before i started searching.

it's a good idea theoretically but i dont think it is in practice.

I don't understand why an in-house on-site fundraiser has not been done yet.

Because they prefer to rely on the cash shop in hopes that someday, they're going to have enough to recode.

I thought CS was being used to pay day to day operations and then a little for a rainy day? I don't remember reading about a fund being specifically saved towards a recode.

We're still investigating. If we do this we want to be entirely transparent with complete breakdowns of the costs, what features we would specifically focus on first, and all of the logistics. It takes a lot of research (and a lot of digging into our code) to figure those kinds of things out :) We wouldn't want to half-ass this and end up needing a ton more work done in a few months, which is something I've seen happen with a ton of freelance projects.

Scarsdale pretty much told us that if we wanted a fundraiser so bad, why aren't we using the cash shop

Personally, I'm not even sure I want to donate anymore. I wanted to a few weeks ago, but now, things changed and I need to save my money for rainy days. SORRY SUBETA, YOU LOST A COUPLE HUNDRED BUCKS THERE.

Thank you for an answer. I know what you mean. Kinda lost out of getting at least a hundred from me, but now my tax refund is spent.

Kudos to you for wanting full transparency with a break down. But would it also be possible to get from you a list of things on the back end that are just not up to speed? Because there are a lot of projects we as a user base would like to see, but without any knowledge of potential back end problems to complicate them. Like just an intro to the breaking code of subeta and how things must be updated to lighten server load .etc. Like I am trying to dig bag in the archives of when you started the recode, cults being redone, forums and wardrobe. Although I do applaud you for bringing in games that move, and more interactive plot steps.

It sounds to me like that exactly what he was implying. Figuring out exactly what needs to be done to the code to begin with and then the things he wants done on top of the fixes... That's how i interpreted what he's saying and what you're asking at least o.O

I assume it like that as well, but I am asking for that to be made public. Sure with transparency these things will be mentioned, but I asking for on top of that some sort of explanation for those of us without a back-end knowledge base. It would also clarify for those who have complained for so long about the various recodes brought up in the past why things didn't go as planned. To hear it is just bad code, doesn't give enough details is what I am saying. I am asking for specifics not vagueness.

Do you mean on the current site? Obviously if we went forward with this plan we'd post all of the things we wanted accomplished, and the reason (which would be THIS SUCKED ON V1 OF SUBETA, CAN WE DO BETTER for most of them) - but if you want a break down of the current site that'd take a bit of time (but would be possible)!

I think aside from the general well this sucked so we can improve it, just more clarity in a breakdown would make it understandable. Just more reason to donate because oh hey this is the reason why, not just because it sucked. Yeah we can tell with the lag and things not loading, but as to the reasons why our servers couldn't handle it well x,y,z would overload our servers because it wasn't efficient. I am super happy that you guys recently have been more public about the changes and why they were necessary. I am just hoping for that trend to continue and in this new recode if you were to fund it on site, that we as the user base would see the issues you see. So many of us go well just change it, but we don't get the implications of how inserting things in old code can cause it to break elsewhere. Or how things are just no longer compatible. For some people it wouldn't matter, but for other long term users it wouldn't be a recode promise like how it was in the past which was vague and then ultimately disappointing.
