.. heck yeah! i bet all the people hoarding are the ones that have been here for years, spent the most real money on csc for cash shop items
i emptied my wardrobe to work on the hoard after i hit 15k top tier..
and remember all the holidays instead of enjoying family was spent on subeta cause you knew there would be new items released for the holidays...
that was my start.. when i came here 8 years ago i decided i wanted a holiday gallery.. and had a good start when the hoard achievement was released
Cash Shop Sales and Black Friday have had really no interest to me, except to get more items for my hoard. If there's an item I really want, I get an extra for my wardrobe. I am sure that us hoarders have spent so much money and sPs it's not even funny trying to come up with an amount (except I do have all the sps tracked down)
I emptied my wardrobe some, but I gave up on that a few years ago because I was still so far away from the last tier , but with the pending retirement hovering over us, I think it's a good time to start doing this lol
Whenever I see items I sold before hoarding I kick myself for ever selling them, because they are now a pain to get back :/
I'm getting tired of achievements being retired. I hope this one is just a foul rumor. I really don't like the directions Subeta is heading these days. A lot of the joy is going out of the site for me.

Those strains also hurt the entire site. When it takes a minute for a page to load for you, that's also putting strain on the database which is how all of the other users get their information too.
This isn't a "I chose my bed, and I'm laying in it" kind of situation. It's affecting the performance of the entire site.
We aren't taking away the ability to collect holiday items, or hoard items. We're just taking away the incentive to do it.

Yes, we've decided that it's better for the site that way. It sucks for people who've been working toward it, but it's better for the majority of users.

I have a gallery that I set up when the hoarding achievements first came out. I've hated it the entire time, but sometimes it really comes in handy. More than once I've painfully transferred things back and forth to wardrobe to pick up a few of those achievements. When I first heard these were going to be retired, at first I was, "NOOOOOO!" And then it felt like a weight had been lifted and I decided to quit hoarding immediately. I have started the slow and painful process of sorting to wardrobe, other collections, pet treasures, selling and things I actually want to hang onto. It's probably going to take years at this rate, lol. But it's fun to see all of the stuff I have and put it to use in other, more satisfying, ways. Maybe we need an HA (Hoarders Anonymous) group.

So everyone should have to suffer because a few people want an achievement?
Seriously I understand the fustration of working towards a goal, but no one is saying you have to get rid of your items.
I was sympathetic to people working on the achievement until I started reading half these posts. I still think fair notice should be given, but its ridiculous how people are acting.
I feel for the people who are way closer than I ever got, but it's just not worth slowing down the entire site for hundreds of other people, just so a handful can get a few more achievements.
For some of us, working towards achievements is one of the main attractions here. Start taking them away and you pretty much ruin the site.

No one is telling you that you have to stop hoarding or collecting though. Removing the achievement is something that the site has to do to help newbies realize they dont have to hoard things, because it is stressful on the site's servers from what I understand.
Personally I love hoarding. My favorite things are ones that come in like 10 colors. The achievements are a nice plus, but to me having all the items is the main thing.
I hope that there is soms kind of compromise reached, like being able to counted items in different locations rather than a single gallery or shop. The site created this achievement without thinking about the potential consequences at the time. At some point it has to be fixed :c
But the achievements ARE THE GOAL! It's not just the hoarding! I for one would LOVE it if hoarding could be spread out, even if it was just for the wardrobe, plushie collections and beanbag collections. I would not mind in the least in throwing the extras into the vault and selling them off. , won't you please consider that option and leave the achievement? Please? Please don't take away half of the fun of this site.

Between both hoarding achievements, there are 14 tiers. Now, assuming that anyone upset over losing them has already made a moderate amount of progress, you're losing access to maybe 8-10 achievements. I'd be willing to bet that more achievements than that were already retired before the vast majority of people on this thread even joined the site. If you miss out on a one-off event, you could easily miss out on that many achievements (the Councilor's Cruise had 25 achievements that no one who missed out can ever get again. Trust me, that one eats away at me because I was new and missed out on most of it).
Yeah, it's rough to have the achievements retired, especially if you're in the middle of working on them. But retiring achievements is nothing new, and the bottom line is, it's better for the site overall to retire these two specific achievements, and if that "ruins the site" for someone, maybe they should just leave now.
Achievements retired before I really got into this site don't bother me. Achievements that I'm actively working for DO. Did you by chance miss the option I mentioned in the earlier post?

I've seen it mentioned several times already and I'm not a fan of it, personally.
Like I said, I totally understand being upset about achievements that you're working on being retired, but it's the best option for the site to retire them. If a compromise can be reached, fine. But my point still stands that if they do get retired, if that "ruins the site" for you, maybe this isn't the site you (general you) should be on.
So basically you're saying tough shit that you've put millions of sP and many hours into working towards something, either shut up or get out?

After I reread my post I realized I ignored that point about being an achievement collector.
When an achievement is actively hurting the site (which it is, encouraging users to shove tons of stuff into one shop/gallery) it is a problem and needs to be adjusted/removed.
The constant hem-hawwing from staff, oh we need to get rid of this, then 6 months of silence doesn't help because it leaves people thinking oh it isn't that big of a deal.
I totally think your solution would be helpful, I know I have never started the plushie and beanbag collections because of the hoarding acheievements.
