i completely disagree with the people who stated the terracoon was sloppily done. i mean. just LOOK at it. it's fantastic.

obviously it took more than just a bit of thought to come up with the concept. and look at the details in the texture and shading. that doesn't look so easy to do for me. there are only a handful of subeta artists for a reason. i'm sure it's hard to find people with this kind of creativity and talent.

don't degrade their art. they're drawing this stuff for YOU. it's fine if you dislike it, each to their own opinion, but i think calling the pet sloppy is just outright rude :/

Ahaha. I love it. I want. XD I'm thirteen years old, and let me tell you: this isn't offensive in the least. Especially in Health when we're learning about the effects of tobacco, and looking at pictures of people who have mouth cancer, black teeth, and messed up faces. This seriously isn't scary, or really disturbing. I've had an animal get hit by a car, and I've seen roadkill. You don't see people complaining to the government: OH MY GOD, I SAW ROADKILL ON THE ROAD! THIS IS INAPPROPRIATE FOR MY CHILDREN! Anyways, I'm done with my little rant and what-not. XDD The artist is a genious. c:

Although this has pretty much passed, I just wanted to say something: While I like the pet, and I agree that it's not really something to get up in arms over, I don't agree with everyone saying "it's just art"or "it's just pixels." Art is a powerful force that can define an age in history or birth a social movement; it shouldn't be dismissed so easily. There was a man who tied up a dog and let it starve to death for "art," and there are plenty of pornographic pixels roaming around the Internet. It's not a real raccoon, sure, and it certainly isn't out of line with the rest of site, but it's not "just" art.

It's disturbing, but that's sorta the point. =D

I suppose I'd rather see the pet sitting up with obvious tread marks on it (like it died because it was run over), but the fact it was up and about would indicate that it came back from the grave. Like it should have died and rested in peace, but it's baaack....

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

That is horrible! It's so gross...I LOVE IT! XD Just like a graveyard pet should be. Disturbing to look at. That's one of the many things I love about this site. It's not so cutesy and childish unlike most pet sites. This site is intended for 13 + so get over it people. If you can't handle it, then don't get it as a pet or leave if your that childish, plain and simple. Anyways, Good job as always Rah!

As someone who likes Graveyard pets,I am very disappointed in how sloppy the Graveyard Terracoon is. It looks like just another ordinary roadkill to me.I expect a Graveyard Terracoon to look like a Terracoon, not some random dog with green fur. This is the worst of the Graveyard pets,in my opinion.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Hehe. I'm all for it through a pet site. It's cute, in my way. ;3 As for real life, BEWARE.

I personally think it's sloppy and very poorly done. It's like the Subeta team was in such a hurry to get a GraveYard pet out that they drew a roadkill beast and are trying to pass it off as a Terracoon. Unlike all the other GraveYard pets(which were very well-done),this one is very disappointing.I look at it and think" This is just another ordinary roadkill."

O.o; Wow. I don't know if I love it or hate it.. It's kind'a sad, and probably the most disturbing GY pet I've seen (so far)... Maybe ya'll have gone too far? I dunno. The art, of course, is KILLER - but for a pet site - do we really need to remind people of pets that get squished on the side of the road? Seems a bit of a sore subject. I know I think of one of my dogs that got hit years ago when I see this.. ;.;

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by SHiVA

The only problem I have with it is it doesn't really match the old graveyard pets.. The old ones looked like they were pieced together from different animal parts and then reanimated Frankenstein-style. This one looks like it was squished and left on the side of the road; maybe it's been reanimated, maybe it's not been (can't tell since animals often die with their eyes open). How can this one be an undead soldier when it can only crawl at most? heh. Good art though. I won't be owning one, but I'm not going to protest its being here. I have a dark sense of humor myself.

The only reason I dont exactly love this is because, unlike simple accidental runovers, i've seen people actually AIM for animals to hit, and i've held one of those said animals right as it died(It wasnt bloody or anything x_x ). I guess i look back on it when i see these sort of pets.
The art is great as always, I just can never find the GY pets as amusing as others might. They gross my weak stomach out. x3 And no, i'm not whining. I'm glad Subeta is different with unique pet colour choices. GY Just arent for me. ^^

this pet is genious. i'm loving the creativity and humor that the artists are putting into all of these new graveyard pets. although they are a bit gruesome, they're stunning, and definitely DO set subeta apart from almost every other site out there (:

and for the people complaining- if the pet bothers you, don't get it. simple. i see how a roadkill terracoon could bring back memories if people have lost pets this way, but i STILL don't see a reason to complain about it. if you don't want one, don't look at it. don't get one. etc. l:

Brilliant as always Now, a note to all who are complaining around:

  1. Geez, why so serious?
  2. Its called dark humor, and it makes you remind yourself of the cruelty/selfishness/ignorance/etc on you and the world, in an ironic way (naice!). So you must do something, you need to create and work for all that magical things called friendship, trust, love, happiness. Instead of 'omg it's disgusting!' you should have thought ' omg, it's real' and keep that in mind and do your best to prevent it to happen in reality. Sometimes we have to think harder, noes?
  3. Lady Moonlight presents Scheme of Rah thinking: Graveyard theme » dark humored» hum It's a doggie like furrie » doggie » walk the doggie » street » cars » hum... >< » looks at plushie hmm....» jackpot >w< ...What could be more obvious than that? ;o
  4. amg hiz hurt!!! are you going 2 stay like dat?! go already pik him and gief love to de poor cutie :< 5)oh my F.O.B, itz a gud advize! Betta taik note writes
  5. reality.does.not.suck much.

....

  1. If you are still thinking on the same way... well all I have to say is Ignorance is bliss.

Hope me helped ^^ kkthanksbai

Roadkill Terracoon DX Nice idea Rah How about GY Torrent revamp? Like it has a fish hook stuck in it's mouth? Or fried fish XD

Oh and people, Graveyard pets really need to look like, um... dead, creepy, rotten, parts missing, freaky and morbid... That's why they're called "GRAVEYARD" pets. It's like they're DEAD but somehow managed to live. Quote:

; border: 1px solid ; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10;"> but seriously they're graveyard pets THEY ARE DEAD FOR GOD'S SAKE YOU WANT THEM TO LOOK TASTEFUL?

Also, the artist took hard-work and a lot of time into draw this GY pet. Don't you know how hard it is to complete such complicated pet with all the details!?

Quote:

; border: 1px solid ; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10;">Honestly? It's just art.

It's just art people. Just like what LitenRev said. Okay? It's just a picture... NOT the REAL thing, period.

My Dad had cows when we were growing up. He is such a loving man that he couldn't stand to butcher his cows. Even though it would have saved us a lot of money buying meat, in the long run, and he was a teacher not making a lot. He just was... to attached and too kind.

That same father made a game on the way to Utah for a few years. There was a new stretch of road that always had a lot of dead rabbits on it. Because it was a new road, the bunnies hadn't learned to stay away yet. So, he created a guessing game - guess how many rabbits on the road until the next town. We'd all guess our number and then actively count the roadkill until the next town. It was always the most interesting part of the trip to Utah. xD

I guess my point is that my Dad was an animal lover, but he was also realistic. There was nothing he could do to stop the bunnies from becoming roadkill, so he accepted it and moved on.

Should Disney not re-release Bambi? After all deer are killed in that movie.... I could name a hundred other movies as well.

I don't get the fuss over a cartoon animal. For Heaven Sakes - do any of you watch South Park? How many times has Kenny died in gruesome ways? If you can watch South Park and not be offended (and it's a human being killed in not so natural ways), then why be offended over this? They are just cartoons! scratches head

Anyway, the awesome thing about subeta is that there are lots of pets. If we find the GY pets offensive, we can just choose another color. xD

This is really really amazing. The last roadkill I saw while driving was smeared on the pavement. So it was kind of hard to tell what it was. But this! This I could tell is a Terracoon!

But seriously, there are so many ways to NOT see this image. If you don't like it, block it. The idea is amazing. Plus, this site is rated pg-13. So if your 9 year old sees this.... it's really your fault.

Love the art. It's super-fabulistic!

Utter genious! I love how the artists are getting more inventive with their Graveyard pets! To those who are complaining about the subject; -This is Subeta, not Neopets. A lot of the art here is typically more mature and graphic. I'd expect you should be more mature with it since this is, in all effect, a more mature petsite. -Roadkill is a fact of life. Not a pleasant fact, but it happens. It's gross, but that's what the artist was aiming for. Graveyard is all about dead pets; it's alright to see another pet with its bones and guts showing, but not to see one flattened? Doesn't add up to me. -The artists are bringing in more intelligent and realistic themes to the Graveyard colours, such as the plastic netting and bottle holders on the Chelon- and the squashed look of the Terracoon. It's very inventive and brings out loads more personality to the pet and what sort of pet it is instead of just another green-and-grey zombified pet with bones and brains. I'd vouch for this kind of art any day over the older versions (not that I dislike the older versions in any way.)

Great big kudos to the artist!
