Don't count on BGG knowing what she's talking about. She's second-guessing herself as well LOL The trivia said specific, DebiLee said specific.. but if Debi said "official" later, well... what's official? What's specific? It's mostly just a matter of personal judgment, unlike "What is the 26th letter of the American standardized alphabet?" GAH I just know I'm going to be buying this minion from someone later XD

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

BlueGreenGrey: whispers be as specific as you possibly can be!

DebiLee: It would be the most commonly used "official" term for it.

DebiLee says common, BGG says specific, and the more specific answer is the less common one. -cries-

It's really not easy, I don't think anyone who lives outside of Pennsylvania would know it. Good thing we can google it. I've never heard of it. And if the answer I put is right, I agree with Topizots and Starshadowk. :.(

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Oh man this will be easy for most people who live in the states. As for a canadian like me...not so easy...I hope I got it right. The prize is so cute. XD

Yes, I put "safe" as well since I figured it had to do with the name of the game. As for this newest one, well it's a real doozie. I agree there are numerous ways to take this. I stumbled across a google page where the school holiday was actually metioned so I went with the name that was specified there. Just a gall-danged mind boggler as my granny used to say! Good-luck everyone

lol - honeybear...me too. I saw the question's wording and I my thought process went along these lines:

"Oooh I know where that's from! Safe Crack! Yay! I win! Uh oh...the format requires one word. Hmmm....okay, I'll submit "Safe"! Yay! I win!"

Many hours later I actually took the time to read what it was asking and realized how much the word "safe" does not answer the question. -fail-

This trivia is definitely not biased towards Pennsylvanians. In fact, I probably submitted the wrong answer because I am a long-term Pennsylvania resident. Instead of depending on Google, I immediately answered by using the knowledge I've had from living in Pennsylvania for the past 20 years. All of the area newspapers, school newsletters, etc. commonly use one of the specific terms. From what I have gathered by Debi's statements, however, it sounds like she chose to use another term based on the fact that it appeared more often in her online searches.

So, it would appear that some of the answers (probably mine, too) validly answer the question...there is only one answer that will win it. Oh well!
This happens a lot, guys - the system doesn't allow for multiple valid answers, so that's just how it goes.
waits to buy yet another trivia prize, darnit!

deepinquisition I agree with you that if the answer is to be specific it would be 4 words. I know what it is and I put the only 2 word answer I could think of that can encompass the correct answer. I will be interested to see what turns out as the correct answer as there are 2 general 2 word answers most used.

Darn it, I said 'safe' as the answer for the last one too. I hate getting them wrong when I actually knew it. I guess I'll have to buy a thunder orb then, because I really like it.

I'm pretty sure I got this new one though, I live near Pennsylvania and heard someone talking about this the other day.

Event!
Your answer combination for the trivia was correct! Youve been given an Thunder Orb and 123sP

I must say the orb looks much different then I thought it would on the HAs.. I was thinking it would be like all the other staffs, wands, swords ,etc and be hand held with glowing orbs around it..

This new one is making my brain hurt.. I used to live in PA for a few years and now I am gonna have to sit here and make that dang hamster run the wheel and remember days from way back when I was much much younger.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I also found 2 different answers, but if either are right it makes me very sad that a pet site would have a question related to this.

Uh...this one doesn't make you think, this one makes you google stuff and then you get to see how good you are at playing eeny-meeny-miney-moe at picking which answer to submit. I've found what I think the answer to be, in 2 words, all pretty specific at least 5 times. Wah.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

It's a tough trivia. There will be many wrong answers. I think all in all that's the way trivias should be. Challenging. Tricky. Make you think. It's ok, really.

This is a very controversal trivia question, I'm sure whatever the answer is, it will be easily debated as being wrong... not necessarily wrong, but there's a couple answers, there truly is. It's called a few different things universally... so OUCH

So far, I have come up with 2 possible correct solutions and can argue either one with many Google-able examples. I think I'll have to do an Eeny Meeny Miney Moe to pick out which one to put down.

Right On, BlueGreenGrey!!

it's also is the same way for ANY non-subeta related trivia.

If I remember correctly, they did a trivia about Guy Fawkes. Guy Fawkes was not something that had to do with America. In fact, it had to do with England.

So, if you want to see a non-subeta related trivia for another country, submit one.

LOL - America is a big, big, BIG place. PA is one state of 50, and not the entire state of PA even does this, mostly just the rural schools, where it's deemed necessary. So if it's unfair for non-Americans, it's unfair for Michiganders, Floridians, Californians, Alaskans, Hawaiians, Carolinians, Georgians, Texans, New Yorkers, Virginians, etc, etc... and also anyone who lives anywhere in a medium to large sized city. We pretty much ALL have to Google it, and then try to figure out which answer is most specific.
