This is my first time with bird watching so I might be doing it wrong. If there's a specific item I need to be wearing or maybe I have to read the book to my pet, this error is entirely my fault. Either way, when I click on my bird I get an error saying "Oh No! You can not collect this item right now."

The quest is for a (Sacred Lands Quail) and I'm trying to click on them on this page (explore/sacred_lands.php). The bird has popped up three times but each time I get the same error.

I'm using a kindle (Fire HD 10(7th gen)) if it could be related to that. I'll try finding one on my pc and see if that fixes it, I'll update the post in a few minutes and let you know!

i'm having a... very strange experience with bird watching. i mentioned this in the comments of the news post but then it seemed to have resolved itself. turns out it hasn't, i just found an odd workaround for it.

my first quest was for a Shadowglen Dove, and my second was for a Darkside Kite, easy enough to find just refreshing on the homepage for both locations. except when i've found and clicked on them, the popup has shown the entire page inside the popup (sidebar and all) with the "Oh No! You can not collect this item right now." error message. for some reason, though, if i minimize the top section of my sidebar (for me it's the "Subeta: Ghostface" section; i'm not sure if this is the one that needs to be minimized or if it just needs to be the top one) clicking on the bird will give me the correct popup and allow me to bring it back to complete the 'quest' as normal. it's a bit bizarre, but it works!

this has happened on the most recent version of Chrome both on my phone (Galaxy S21+) and on my laptop (HP Pavilion running Windows 11). i wish i'd thought to take screenshots, but unfortunately i didn't; if it happens again after day reset i'll be sure to take some and edit this post to include them.

01/10 EDIT: today's and yesterday's quests have gone smoothly with no errors or other issues!

I was given a quest for the Shadowglen Dove today and also got the "Oh no, you can't collect this item right now" error. I'm on the most recent version of chrome on a windows PC.

I am also having this error on Safari, as well as Firefox on PC.

I'm also getting this error for the . It seems to me like the birds that aren't region-specific are working fine (I got one yesterday), but the regional birds aren't fully activated somehow. I wonder if there's something hardcoded somewhere that says they should only be active in Spring (but that's just a guess, obviously).

It looks to me like the quest for the shadowglen dove has problems. I've tried 5 x now and always get a pop up page. I play on a mac using firefox 78.15.0esr (64-bit)

That's one of the old birds, and I think birdwatching is coded to give you the new birds first this season. So it's probably a leftover quest from the last time bird watching was available. I had the same thing happen to me for 2 days before I realized it. I'm not sure whether I got the bird last time and forgot to turn it is, or if the old quests just aren't generating birds properly - my guess is the latter since you're the third person I've seen mention have this happen. I didn't find the bird pop-up and just took one from my vault to "turn in" this time around.

Im having the 'Oh No! You can not collect this item right now.' pop-up issue as well for Omen Islands Gannet. Ive tried several times. I wish I could just quit the quest and go on to another bird.

Same, I have only collected the first bird. I have tried ever browser I have, its always the same. 'Oh No! You can not collect this item right now.' pop-up issue. It is a little frustrating. 6 days in & I have only gotten 1. =(

My quest is for and it's been an hour and it hasn't popped up anywhere yet. Normally I find a bird within 10min. Is anyone else having that issue?

Hmmm, now it's happening to me again with the , although I was ultimately able to get the Ptarmigan, and got another one no problem the other day. I wonder if it's something to do with the time of day showing on the map of the area? I think the ones I've gotten have all been during the "day", and it's "night" in sacred lands right now. 🧐 Just a wild guess for why it might be working at some times but not others.

I'm having the same issue. Had no trouble collecting all the new birds but yesterday I had to find a Darkside Kite (first old bird of the season) and the first time I found it, I got the error ("Oh No! You can not collect this item right now") but the second time (only about a minute later) it worked. Today I'm trying to catch a Centropolis Pigeon and I've found it six times but I've gotten the error (and definitely no bird) every time.

I'm on Android and I'm not opening multiple tabs (I know that can interfere with floating items when they pop up in more than one tab, not what's going on here).

Edit: I don't know if it's just a coincidence or if there's an actual conflict, but I tried minimizing my sidebar widgets like mentioned and then I was able to collect my bird on the seventh attempt.

I had the same issue with Shadowglen a few days ago, but thought it was just me. Now I'm trying for a Darkside Kite and it's doing the Oh No! You can't collect this.

3 times so far, all on the original darkside page.

BUT as soon as I clicked onto the pet zapper, I was able to pick it up.

Just FYI, it works fine if you open the image link in a new tab.

I just got the darkside one - the first time I tried to left click it as normal, and the error occurred. The next time I middle clicked to open in new tab (you could also try right clicking > open in new tab). This may not work on mobile, but it should work for some!

I am having the same issue with the veta plover. I’ve found it 4 times but every time I go to click it, I get- Oh No! You can not collect this item right now.

When I tried what recommended with opening the image in a new tab, it just told me that there was no record of that floating item.

I am on an iPad Air 4 if that makes a difference, using safari.

Updated to add: this was on the main page of veta lake. I finally got it to work on the farmers market page.

I'm having the same problem with the [Item=Centropolis Pigeon]. All the other birds worked fine for me. Any idea what I can do about it apart from buying our for 750k?
