I'm pushing changes for the next hour (~7AM-8AM) to the restocking system to monitor the number of items restocking. After looking at our existing restocking system last night and realizing it hasn't changed since 2008, it's time for some larger changes.

I don't want to give out any specifics yet because everything is subject to change, but here are some of the more vague changes.

1. Items will only restock once per x amount of time. That means that you won't get the same low rarity items clogging up the shop, they can only be stocked once every x minutes/hours.
2. Shops will now restock x shops at a time always (instead of choosing a random amount) giving priority over shops that haven't restocked in awhile, but still somewhat randomized.
3. Number of items stocked has been greatly decreased across the board, but mostly for low rarity items.
4. The biggest change! If an item isn't purchased from a main shop within x amount of time (currently set to 3 days, but will likely be shortened because that is a really long time) it will be automatically removed from the stock of that shop for x (currently 7) days. That should give it time to pick up in user shops and get some of the sales happening there instead of all in main shops. This doesn't really help restockers (if you buy the items, they'll keep stocking) but will help level out item prices and keep items that no one wants sticking around in the shop. We'll also have a list of these items, and the number of times they've been forcibly removed so we can keep track and just retire items that continue to be put in that category.

There are some more exciting changes coming, but those are the ones that are being tested now :)!

It would be great if the items we have on our wish list would have a square around them so we have a better chance of restocking them if we see them in one of the main shops :)

This is sounding amazing, I am so excited. Working to decrease lower rarity items filling up the shops is a huge step in the right direction, and I can't wait to see how the 7-days-removal works out. Thanks for listening and making some much needed changes! <3

but what about a border around the beanbags/plushies/wearables we don't have in our collections/wardrobe? :)

tbh I dislike this change, it'll make questing less profitable since items in user shops are most of the time more expensive

[edit] and will the restocking trophy update on our user profiles? because I loved that feature

Not sure about these changes. Guess we'll have to see how they work out.

I know one thing for sure I would much rather the programmers were sorting out the event deleting and font size issues than pushing new stuff.

Hmm... we'll see how this goes. A lots this is vague enough that I'm still not sure what the restocking landscape is going to look like.

I feel like this should be interesting! there are items that are like 2k SP in Main shops and 500 SP in usershops, so it might be good to see these removed from rotation for a bit :P

All in all, I'm cautiously hopeful about these! I do hope that the shops will not end up having too few items in them as a result, but I'm sure staff will keep an eye out.

I love the idea of limiting the amount of times low rarity items will restock, it seems like the user market is so flooded sometimes that it's not worth bothering to restock at all when you make so little a profit or even end up taking losses half the time.
