So one of the things that staff are struggling with in relation to a possible cap raise is that capped pets have tons of EXP hoarded up from challengers/battle quests. Can you help think of things to do with this EXP that don't involve totally wiping it or somehow transferring it to another pet?
So, any ideas :)? I was thinking that it might be cool to have it converted into battle tokens somehow - at a VERY high rario of course. Just so it's not unbalancing things too much but means that people's hard work isn't erased.
Also - lets try to keep it to civil ideas rather than debate as this is the suggestions forum :).

I still see no problem with insta-capping. If someone put the work in they deserve the credit for it, regardless if that work was preemptive or not.
BUT. If that's for really reals off the table, then yeah, I agree with converting it to battle tokens at a high ratio, or Intel points, also at a high ratio of course.
And I also still think it should be allowed to be used to redo pet builds. Add an option on the Exp page to REMOVE stats for the same cost as adding stats, so that people with millions of Exp who aren't necessarily happy with their end build can do some rearranging. Do this before the cap raise and they still can't surpass it before it's time, but they can do -something- with all of that saved Exp.

I'm not creative, but I would be appeased with like, 10 SP per point or something simple like that if no good solutions come up. I'm not sure how high the exp is on some pets - I can't imagine it's too high otherwise why were people BQing with capped pets 0.o
I have like 1 mil exp which I feel like shouldn't be erased, but I think I mostly earned it battling for challenger drops so w/e.
I saw suggest buying 1 intel point with 100k EXP. That's certainly something to consider, and since in general the BAs don't want intel to be bought with EXP it can be a one time offer within the window before EXP is erased.

I believe the staff doesn't like option 1, but I would prefer it because training exp past the cap is opportunity loss that could be used on another pet. But I don't support direct exp transfer to another pet because the exp cost for lower tiers is much smaller than T10+.

There are people with 7mill + EXP PTs and that's a lot to just pretend not to have and have it wiped off you, Wiping the EXP PTs is the 'worst' thing you can do and this should not happen EVER!! So I think the BAs should just agree with this fact and work on a solution see below.

I like the intel suggestion, that way at least people will get SOMETHING for the exp they've got built up.
Why not uncap? Then you could create new challengers to battle this "godlike" pets who have all that excessive experience?
In any aspirational system, there are those who are gonna try to be the absolute best. The "problem" isn't going to go away.
Who says exp-to-point cost for higher tiers is exactly the same as t12? The costs for other tiers is different. Maybe they will cost 50K EXP per point.
If staff thinks it's a problem that capped pets get EXP they can stop this any time. They should do this right away. Once it is stopped, it's just a waiting game a game of patience.
If staff raise the cap, then they presumably have planned for there to be no imbalance with the new cap. If any of pets with tons of EXP hit the new cap instantly, so what if they do? Eventually, as caps are raised (and if they do stop the EXP gain-while-capped), users will run out. Looking at the future of this, nothing stops folks from hoarding a humongous mass of boosters and instacapping that way.
Spend it on INT? There's no cap on INT that I can tell, and I know I spend a lot of sP on it. It's handy to have a fuckton of bomb-scrolls sometimes. Question is, don't most pets capped already have a ton of INT? I know my Magentawhimsy does.
Duh me! Well, maybe they could sell their experience to other battlers? Packages of experience for lots of sp, also create some new weapons in the Battle Shop to purchase with major experience points?
With 3.5 mil unused exp earned by a capped pet this makes me so angry it's difficult to be "civil" when thinking about it. I've discussed it with Jenn and agree with her so altho none of the ideas are mine I'll restate them

I don't see see what's wrong with either
a) giving that exp to another pet since most users with capped pets + exp have several battle pets (many users without capped pets still have multiple) because hey one way or another the user earned it right?
b) letting a user recap instantly if they want? Like, 1m exp = +666 health... is... is the cap going to be that low? Or likewise, is there that many people with that much more? If so, see below.
c) let capped pets keep a flat rate of exp, like 500k-1m. Sure most will lose a lot, but something is better than nothing.
d) I mean I guess short-term intel is a good idea but 100k is kinda ridiculous. If you have 1m stashed, that's like +10... lol. That's not actually much better than nothing.
e) How about a new achievement + title -grin- Yeah we have the DGR one but technically speaking, that one is (presumably) staying at 22k, best I recall? This achievement + title would be only for having a capped pet when the cap is raised.
i think i mentioned this somewhere earlier. It's not the best, but its something. set up a temporary tier 13 where the stat to EXP ratio is very high, like 20k per S/D/L, 30k per HP. Then wipe unused EXP after X amount of time. remove tier 13 or reset the tier 13 stat to exp ratio to it the usual ratio.
One thought I had, and it's probably silly, is that there could be a shop that takes EXP points. You could either choose to spend your EXP on stats (for T11 and under) or buy a weapon. Maybe put some of the hard-to-get but highly sought after weapons/scrolls in there for 1 million EXP or higher, depending on what was added. I know it mirrors the Battle Shop but the shop wouldn't have to be permanent (and probably shouldn't be actually).
I also support Intel being purchasable by EXP... I would like to see it set to a high amount and made available across all Tiers possibly at the same amount not scaling. But at the very least, I think it should be an option for the top tier/capped pets, since the idea is to keep them from using their EXP on core stats.
EXP takes effort and it takes time. The owners of capped pets have put in a lot of both, and I am okay with them being rewarded for it. -shrugs-
[edit]A temporary T13 for the sake of spending EXP only also sound reasonable to me, if it's not too much effort to code in on the back-end.
I had also been thinking this. Just enough that gives you a nice boost into new cap area but nothing that drowns the system. The rest can be converted to tokens/intel/whatever. Or legit just make stats super high priced and be told to use your EXP before X date or it's wiped.
