Let's face it--whether we want to or not, we always have to choose a starter when we start a new game, the question is: which one? And for each Generation?

Bulbasaur, Totodile, Mudkip, 4th and 5th gen starter I don't care about they're going to stay in the pc anyway, Froakie. Hmmm.... there's a tendency toward water starters...

Based on looks/favorites: Charmander, Cyndaquil, Torchic, Piplup, Snivy, and Fennekin. Based on gameplay: Bulbasaur, Totodile, Mudkip, Piplup, Snivy, and Froakie.

Apparently, I like the looks of fully evolved fire types more, but for practicality, I prefer water types o_O

Squirtle, Cyndaquil, Treecko, Chimchar, Tepig and Fennekin

But now that I think about it, I should've chosen Mudkip instead of Treecko for AS D: Water pokemon are so difficult to come by so early in the game sigh

The choice for 4th gen was the hardest since it's easily my favorite gen.

Sorry, water just isn't my type for the most part. And that's why HM slaves exist. :)

Charmander, cyndaquil, torchic, chimchar, none as I dont like any of the gen 5 starters, and froakie. :) Fire is my favorite type, and most the time the fire starters will be the cutest out of them to me. (besides the last two gens sorry tepig/fennekin)

Second generation is so hard to choose from, because I really love all three of them, but cyndaquil was the first I had though.

That's funny, I was thinking about this the other day (totally deep thoughts) I only choose based on looks since the main game is easy enough and I don't battle others.

Gen 1: Bulbasaur Gen 2: Cyndaquil Gen 3: Kind of a toss up, depends on what other Pokemon I plan on using Gen 4: Piplup Gen 5: Tepig Gen 6: Fennekin

Charmander, Cyndaquill, Treko, Chimchar, Snivy, Fennekin are my favorites. I almost always prefer the fire starters for looks and for gameplay purposes.

I like all the starters for gen 1 so I just kinda jump between them, cyndaquil or chikorita, treecko (or sometimes torchic), piplup or turtwig, snivy, froakie (or sometimes Fennekin)

squirtle, cyndaquil, torchic, chimchar, snivy, fennekin are my favourite starters from either gen but, for any gen that I like the water type, even though it wouldn't be my favourite, I'm more likely to pick the water type because starting with a water type brings up all those warm fuzzy feelings of the first time i played pokemon XD Plus generally water type is most useful early game I spose, but either way I don't think anyone's ever found a pokemon game difficult lol.

...I apparently hate grass type starters LOL.

Bulbasaur, and maybe Chikorita, would probably be the only ones I'd pick differently, other than that, none of the grass starters appeal to me.
