I realized yesterday that I've been here for over 16 years at this point, and it reminded me of all the changes I've seen over that time. So I was wondering what odd things everyone else remembers!

I'll go first:

Back in my day, you could do 30 quests for each person, instead of the 15 we have now.

I have no idea when this changed, but I distinctly remember the before time.

oh jeez, like everything at this point tbh the quest change is a great example lately seeing all the posts abt bringing back peekaboo bc its been 10 years makes me feel rly old. that was one of my fave events

I remember when you could only have 10 pets xD And when pet transfers weren't a thing so you had to use the adoption center and panic during the process lol.

I miss the 30 quests, but I think with the decrease in activity on the site it makes sense for the economy that they dropped it.

I remember Maleria asking exclusively for items with "dark" in their item name and giving only 5250 sp (?) in return. I think Mori/Nori was the same with dusk/dawn, but that might just be me misrembering, being old and all :D

I remember when the Omen Islands were introduced...

I still miss the graveyard shop! I had just gotten decent at restocking it and POOF! It's gone 😭

I remember when the quests were timed. I also remember when Saggi only asked for SubQ items and mostly it was not worth doing his quests because the rewards were quite niggardly.

Oh geez.

My old account is lost to the ether, but I remember some REALLY old stuff.

Like the Real-Life Kumos plushies, and the whole debacle with that. Advarsel & the Pie plots (I don't even remember the particulars, it's been THAT long)

I remember when Dark Matter Potions and Angelic Potions could only be purchased from the official eBay account when they were first released. It lead to me proposing an on-site lottery for one on the Suggestions board which staff took and turned into the Potion Lottery daily lol

I remember the longcat debacle. (I had a different account at the time that got deleted for inactivity, back when Subeta did that instead of just making the name available.)

I returned and made this account right when Pekaboo was taking place, so that's the oldest thing I remember as (lofty)balloon. Also back when the Balloon Hut was still a shop :(

There are two things that make me feel old here:

1. the zombie pandemic that kicked off Survival (February 2009)
2. later that year, it was the pirates vs. islanders event which ended up introducing the Omen Islands (August 2009)

I'd only been on Subeta for 2 years then, and my username was Skyfire201. My account is now 17 1/2 years old and I've only changed my username once in all that time.

When Galactic pets were introduced! (crumbles to dust)

I remember when it was a freezable offence to say what was in the Blue Building. I was very disappointed when I finally got in there because it wasn't much like it is now.

I remember there were April Fools tricks and once a "Keith" pet was released. It was canine-esque, if I remember correctly. And I think it was wearing netted hand gloves😭

I REMEMBER THE WEEKLY TRIVIA. Probably one of the only "losses" I mourn on here. I loved it so much!

That was my favorite shop! My pet's treasure was exclusively items from that shop. I took a hiatus and the shop was gone when I returned. :(

Mine was bent on getting a Cybill back when mine joined, which then were "limited edition". Khali Makita was adopted shortly after, mine would want to overlay the classic version...more port then.

Remembering when Subeta Holidays first came out. I WAS THERE!! 🤣

I remember when we had to change from a .com to .net! (Unclear on how long ago that was, though lol)

When Nuclear pets first came out, they had little serial numbers on them. They eventually got removed and I always wondered why. I thought they were cute and added to the experiment vibe.

Another thing I remember, one time Keith let everyone have a Radador through the free gift feature. At the time, they were one of the (if not THE) rarest minions on the site. He was really disappointed when some users opted to throw theirs into the Pawn Shop. So he changed it so that certain rarities couldn't be pawned anymore.
