I remember when they introduced weekend quests
Wasn’t there a wall you could “sign”? Like ages and ages ago - and I remember getting a name changer pinwheel
At this point, the fact that we haven't had a plot in what feels like 7 or 8 years now at LEAST. And yes, the 30 quests, super glad those got trimmed down. OTL
I remember back when Saggi would return a percentage of what was spent on his items, and could ask for anything, including items that cost millions. And people complained about having to quit quests they couldn't afford so they changed it. But man once you could afford the big ticket quests, what a way to exponentially increase your wealth. Fairly sure all those top wealthiest were around back then to profit off those quests.
Captchas on the shops every time you wanted to buy an item.
I remember finding Subeta and loving it, I still do after 18 years. xxxx

When you had to time your wizard quests to the number of people on the site, because the number of tokens you got were tied to how quickly you completed the quest (not sure if this is still the case?) and the lag on the site would absolutely nerf your prize because each purchase took 20-45 seconds to complete.
I remember when you went to someone's wishlist, it would tell you if you had an item in your vault/shop. ; - ; so useful also before the bottom links were added to explore page.

Alongside a lot of things on this thread (yeah definitely feeling old), I also remember that Irions were originally named either Aeries/Eeries, and I believe that was because it was too similar to a Neopet pet name I think? xD
I try not to think. It interferes with being nuts.
I remember when the whole staff dressed their avatars as islanders ahead of the first Islanders vs Pirates plot.
Restock Wars.
The Reading Drive.

I remember when Human Avatars were introduced. Yes, I am old.
- I think we were at the same meetup...wasn't it somewhere in Manhattan, NY? If I remember correctly, there were at least 7 or 8 of us that attended (not including Jess and her wife(?), who were moderators). At the time, my u/n was FirezKiss...it's been years since I had changed it to my current u/n :)
oooh i went to one in downtown disney in california at (i think) a rainforest cafe?? i literally flew in from chicago for it LOL. i remember rah and keith were there and we were all freaking out bc the ts was restocking during the meetup so keith restocked it for us in real time so we wouldn't miss it LOL
- Nice :) Maybe I'm misremembering who went to the one in NYC. I could've sworn it was someone with your u/n. Then again, my 40ish brain seems to like to forget things. I do remember it being in a lounge-like, or cafeteria-like, area, and there was a table next to us playing D&D. I also have the Pokemon stickers that Jess had given to us but can't for the life of me remember what they were as it would give me a clue as to how long ago the meetup was.
- Good call on looking up archived posts as I had found the one for NYC: New York Meetup
I remember there was an on-site art gallery when I first joined. I don't think I ever uploaded anything to it.
Also I remember some of the older pet names like how for a while after they were released the Mahar was just called Sage.
EDIT: I wasn't hallucinating, the chelon had a different name too (thanks tiles!).
after reading this thread i don't have nearly as many memories as y'all do, i don't think, but i have fond memories of many holidays and events :'D
y'all mentioned longcat... i also remember the Roq Candy Loish items having to change their name because they were based off a piece of art by loish, who i followed on deviantart at the time
there are plenty of items that make me nostalgic... like [item=Rainbow Spork-O-Poking!] that i came across the other day (that kind of humor just doesn't exist anymore) and a lot of the scene/emo items =]
ohh.. and the old scode emojis... and my emoticons not autocorrecting to emojis:(
