Hey there! I'm a recently returning player looking to get back into battling. I'm mainly focused on Battle Quests atm and am wondering if there are any items in my toolkit I can upgrade or replace to help me push further. I admittedly don't recall what I was aiming for with my sets before my hiatus. Perhaps someone would be able to steer me in the right direction?
My battle pet: Mister
Current Tier: 8 (Next tier in 769 points)
Current EXP: 203,005
His current set:
Not sure if these matter, but these are their Mods:
SS: Parched Baguette x2
RB: Natural Armor Tear
LGK: Crit Tear, Parched Baguette x2
RoE: Crit Tear, Parched Baguette, Singed Baguette
RMK: Crit Tear
IDS: Natural Armor Tear x2, Singed Baguette
My scrolls (currently AP 47):
Looking to spend 100mil or less right now, but I'm willing to spend or save up more if the upgrade is substantial enough.
Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time. :)
ETA: If I had to guess I'd assume I should focus on more scrolls? But with so many recommended options I'm not quite sure where my best investment would be if I'm being honest.
Welcome back! Your weapons are actually really good already so I would indeed focus on getting Mister's intel up and getting more scrolls. Your mods look ok too, if you find that you keep getting frozen a lot you could look at replacing the singed with more Parched
I notice that you have 2 infinite use scrolls there (the Poisonous Barrage, and Terra Focujin), which isn't ideal. The current 'best' Infinite scroll (that's readily available) would be Aftershocks, but Feather Explosion would also be a nice upgrade for a much lower cost.
Once you have higher AP you can also start collecting Freezing scrolls to chain freeze opponents with Morostide is coming up soon so Shrieks should get a little cheaper once it gets going. Morosbane also drops then, which is a nice OPB bomb/heal.
For some future weapon upgrades you could look at building the Intricate Energized Helmet as a new freezer. The blessing on it prevents freezing for 2 turns, so it's slightly better against opponents that can freeze, as you have more time to get Parched up. (the specs remain better on ones that don't)
built like so at the genetech lab
All the components are in the Battle Shop, so you just battle stuff for the tokens (Easy opponents give Easy tokens, etc), and the Blaster is loot from Aboxalypse (the punching bag)
50 Easy tokens Combine with to make
You can also build a 2nd helmet to turn into a Mecha for T11 later
You're close to T9 which is a strange weapon tier, as many of the other upgrades aren't really significant enough to justify the cost, as there are some big upgrades coming in T10+ The Malignant Rift Staff is a sweet weapon if you happen to have enough points for it (it's a 2013 plot prize) https://subeta.net/explore/masquerade/prizes.php Would be a nice upgrade over the Minotaur Knocker (in fact I would use it and the Knife as a default turn, and only use the Rapier to refresh the curse it has)
You could also consider these two, but they're not 100% necessary yet: The Soma Tablets are a nice end-game tool from the Antique Shop; they're a 2nd Recycle Blaster essentially, and make a big difference in the longer battles https://subeta.net/ss.php/antiques#/shop/Reading_Drive
And an Acorn Bomb, which is better than the Item Hunters Bomb late game because of it's curse. They recently got released in the Token shop so they're a nice price now :)
Otherwise I would just save for the big weapons at T10+ :)
Welcome back, soldier! Pretty much what Kal recommends! xD It's really easy now to see what books your pet is missing if you go to Pets quick ref, click on the down arrow for the pet of your choosing, and click 'Books Read'. You can then see on the books Read page an option to see what books you're missing. ^^

That scroll knowledge helps so much. I have found it strange that I had the poison scroll equipped but never found an instance where I'd use it over terra. It's nice to know I can safely remove it. I'll definitely invest in raising my AP so I can better utilise these scrolls then! They all sound very useful and exactly what I've been missing in battle.
I also appreciate you explaining why some of the items you suggested are upgrades and the roles they play. Like, despite having seen it suggested many a time, I had no idea the Soma Tablets were a second recycle blaster. Knowing that makes them a lot more enticing!
I appreciate the reassurance! That unread book tip will certainly save me a bunch of time.
Thank you both so much for the valuable info and for taking the time to reply! I'm eager to start working towards these and becoming stronger with your help :)
