Feedback: initially worked well. I added colors to my palette, put them on a hair style "absolute" then added it to my HA. Then I went to another hair style "base" , chose different colors for each of the base/shadow/highlight/section1-6, then added that to my HA.

So far, so good.

Then, I deleted the "absolute" hair, and the "base" hair lost all the section1-6 colors. I was able to re-select them, though.

edit: after adding more hairs and removing them, I'm seeing a strange behavior pattern.

The highlight colors don't go onto the hair I'm adding. They go onto the hair "base" (it's a cute bun) and not on the hair style currently in edit. When I add the style to my HA, the style I'm editing (example: ensew) goes on over the 'base' wig, but it's the 'base' wig that gets the section colors I selected 1-6. Then when I delete Ensew, the section colors go with it, no longer visible on the "base" wig.

WOW. That is so easy to use XD Sorry, that's not the most productive feedback but... that's the first thing I thought and what I kept thinking while I was using it. So user-friendly and easy to figure out, even for someone like me who hasn't ever been a heavy user of the hair salons.

The mobile layout is 50 shades of wonky, it's extremely difficult to navigate as it currently is, even in landscape mode (other sections of the wardrobe are navigable though, i think the styling went "nah" only on salon.)

Just noticed that Ringlet shows a bald preview and comes up as a broken image if you choose it.

Will there be an option to search by name?

I think I'm experiencing the same issue as , though.

After submitting the highlights by clicking on "Update My Avatar" the highlights will disappear from my HA once I move my cursor to the left where the wardrobe items are displayed and only show the base colors I picked. I tried this with several hairs so far and it keeps happening.

The palette looks so nice! Super hype for this! I clicked around like a maniac and noticed a few things:

If I have a custom wig on and add another on top of it, then delete the original from under it, it resets the highlights on the new one. Both on the HA and in the salon preview.

If I then re-edit the colors and update to avatar, the HA appears as it should, but the preview highlights disappear.

Adding 3 wigs to an HA crashes the page.

Dragging a wig to another layer causes it to loose the custom highlights both on HA and in the salon preview.

I really like this! I was testing with the Blaze hairstyle. One quick thing I noticed was that you can add seemingly infinite instances of the same colour to your palette by just clicking Add to Palette over and over lol. They all go away if you click on one of them though!

so i was trying to recreate a saved hair i have, and i'm running into two issues:

1. whenever i hit update hair, the highlight selections reset to transparent (so i have to remember which highlights are which, which is not ideal for my goldfish brain)

2. if i change a highlight but don't push the button to update hair (and push the change), the hair updates anyway when i hover over any layer i'm wearing? this doesn't seem to happen when changing the base / highlight / shadow

and this is a minor thing, but i really wish it said that if you click on a color in your palette, it deletes it, because i unknowingly deleted my base color and didn't understand where it went until i clicked on another one and realized it deleted x)

Oh my god, I'm OBSESSED. I never got the hang of the old hair salon, but this is so dang user-friendly and easy to understand? This is genuinely really, really good!

Some small stuff: -Some hairstyles don't show up in preview (bald) or edit, but I don't know if that's because i personally haven't unlocked them yet they're included in the preview? (Fall, Warmfront, Verid Short and others) -Some hairstyles don't have working sections (Vir, Wade etc) - I expect this is bc this is all brand new, anyways. Is it useful to compile a list of styles without sections, or will someone comb through this anyways? :)

I love how easy this is to use! And the sections part is a great addition. I like being able to make the hair multi-color!

I did notice the colors aren't staying when I close the browser. I use chrome and I think it's updated to the newest version.

Pro: Loving that there's a default white and black selection on each part for color selection. Makes it a lot easier to figure out what each section actually affects before deciding on the color. ;)

The 'color buttons' all look fine & are easy to hit on both computer & mobile, & so is making a selection in the color selection area.

Con: "Your palette is persisted in your browser, so if you close the window and come back, they'll still be there." This doesn't appear to be working right now? It goes back to the default brown when I close out & reopen on both my phone and computer, despite having cookies enabled & selecting other colors. (using Chrome on both) Not big deal right now, especially if it'll be saved server side later, but thought I'd mention it. ---Would it be possible, when that happens/in the future for the hair examples to display the colors that you've added into your palette, instead of being the default brown? Not that it's at all important, it'd just be nice. haha.

On mobile, the hair preview & Add To Avatar button floats in a weird spot, due to the clothing being displayed as well. It's squished. ---Would it be possible to add in a toggle to hide the clothing when you're using the hair salon? Or, hide the clothing automatically when using the hair salon? ---(edit) On mobile, it would be nice if the hair that you're working on would stay in a certain position on the screen while scrolling, because you cannot see the changes unless you scroll back up when in landscape. I'm not typing this out right, (orz) but like how the avatar is currently positioned in a certain spot.

edit: Some hairs "sections" don't work anymore that used to work with the old salon. So far I've discovered Blossom and Dignity's sections don't work. Nvm. A refresh fixed it.

I have added https://salon.new.subeta.net to my allowed cookies in addition to new.subeta.net, still get a "you must be logged in"without seeing an option to log in. Or is this thread and accessability only for the volunteers in the New Hair Layer project?

I really like it so far, my only issue I might add is I would like the hair color change "numbers" to have actual names so its easier to tell what section you are picking ahead. "lowerbottom left/ right" "crown" etc. But I assume you are getting to that. Another cool thing to work in would be preset palettes users could load in much like the saving avatars share link. (maybe you could even have a user submitted palettes contest/monthly update? Just a thought :) But so far I AM DIGGING IT. I might actually redeem more hair instead of just loading it into wardrobe unedited XD <3<3

One thing I've always been =annoyed at in the HS is basically the layout; I've always thought scrollbars would make a lot of this easier to maneuver, especially in the section with Base/Shadows/highlights, or anchoring the picker/hair incase I have to scroll and take it out of view. OR stick the colors we've picked in a box that scrolls upon overflow.

Also, while I was testing if I could replicate a glitch (The hair coloring just....goes away if I change my browser tab?) I added it to my HA (looked good B) ) and then it removed my highlights. I can update it, add it, and remove it from my HA and it goes back to default brown.
