By now everyone knows about the glitch in the mystery box on the 3rd of feb that allowed you to mass restock in seconds.

Seeing as this gave some advantage over others makes this contest a bit unfair. I'd like to suggest two different prizes be given out. one to the winning team and one to the runner ups.

And yes I'm from team Mischief because guess what, my team has trouble in it's name giving us the right to make some noise!

Seems like it could bea good idea to me. BUt beyond 'inter-team' prizes (of which people have been offering up some really nic ones), I cant say for sure that there will be 'official' ones for the runners up.

I agree! I don't blame the players that took advantage of it tbh but for staff to turn around and say 'It's not a glitch!' Then when someone points out...Ok, What if it was apothecary day and it was used to mass buy boosters, Which would give someone an unfair advantage by either selling for a huge profit or using to gain a lot of stats really cheaply, Then they turn around and say 'Oh ok, your right, We will just patch it up for next time!' So regardless of what staff said - 'It's not a glitch because we didn't fix it in time!'

Is not good enough. It's clear in the rules

Do Not Abuse Glitches Do not abuse glitches on the site. If you accidentally abuse a glitch, submit a support ticket stating exactly what happened. If you received an extra item from a glitch, delete it immediately.

But it's ok. Rules only apply sometimes. When staff can be bothered to implement them. But this would just take to long to fix so whatever.

inner team prizes are nice but what happened isn't fair by any means. I don't blame anyone from either teams for taking advantage but the glitch and our team's efforts should be acknowledged!

The whole glitch thing was a mess, but Stickers has honestly killed it today. I think we were nearly tied earlier (Mischief might have even had the lead this morning?) and now they're 80k ahead. It sounds like they're doing something right even without the MB. I don't think we can blame that for our loss.

(That said, I'd love it if there were gold, silver, bronze, and participation trophies because I just love trophies. I don't care about the other prizes as much, I just like having trophies to show off.)

It sucks, and it seems like its the only way Stick Togetehr go a lead so fast...Unless a lot of other people on the team started donating...While possible, it seems kinda...meh.

apparently there was a plan to mass it in during the mystery box glitch and donate it last minute as a precaution against our team.... which worked sadly.

I can't blame them because I'm evil and would have done that too but I agree with I would like a trophy on my profile too. :(

This is why we can't have these kinds of competitions and why we need more all-site things like quest-a-thon. I swear if there is a runner-up prize then I'm out. I'm already hanging on to Subeta by a thread and I've already dealt with this before in Battle of the Bands with having to deal with a runner up getting an item while category winners got a retconned achievement and trophy.

We've waited a month for prizes before, I don't mind waiting until someone on staff is able to do as much research as they can on the top contributors and determine if their points were won through legit means.

But holy crap I hope this proves that the user base just isn't mature enough to deal with competition. We're all babies and none of us can even fathom the idea of losing as a result of everyone trying their hardest, but some just not being able to reach as far.

Wait...So Team BFF would sell Stick Together an item at 5k, instead of to the 'general public' at 8k?

Tbh the glitch abuse isn't bothering me as much as how it was handled.

RS wars are meant to be sp and item sinks -- congratulations, 6 million items and probably several billion sp has been sunk. But the competition wasn't really fair because of the glitch abuse, and shrugging it off because it's a "casual competition" is lazy and demoralizing. Lots of people, in all the teams, put a lot of effort, time, and cash into this. I'd be interested in seeing the stats for who abused the MB glitch because I honestly think that teamstick did the bulk of it, even though all the teams dabbled. And that's fine, the site was glitchy as shit and it's a competition. But if you're not going to alter the scores at all, then at least 1. try to clear up the air by being transparent; we can't bicker about cheaters if the data says they didn't do it, and 2. reward everyone since it's on the site's end that it got this messy. From the site's perspective, the event accomplished what it set out to accomplish, but if you alienate a huge chunk of the population (not only teamshark is miffed about this; plenty of members from other teams including teamstick are also unimpressed) by ignoring what is clearly an issue then you not only make yourselves look bad, but also leave a lot of people feeling unhappy about what was supposed to be a fun event.

The Mystery Box 'glitch' doesn't seem to have a bias, beyond bolstering the two biggest teams who were already racing ahead. I dunno. The rumour mill has said that both Mischief and Stick Together have benefited from it, and the huge increase in their scores on MB day seems to reaffirm it. I'd be annoyed if staff changed what prizes were given to whom. That's been the most transparent aspect of this whole thing.

I object more to the three other teams having no reason to participate after Monday. I've enjoyed interacting with my team, but all three counted themselves out the running the day the results were revealed.

Let's say the truth, in all the teams there were some users who abused this "glitch" so there's nothing to do.. would you accept to cut a percentage of the points for all the teams? probably not. I'm going to say no for a runner-up prize, I don't like the idea of changing the original concept at the end just to make everyone happy. you lost, that's it, move on.

I see the biggest issue coming from staff as well. There is always something major that isn't accounted for before the event starts. Safest bet would have been to make sure the MB never rotated the relevant shops into it, but if they weren't going to go that route then they should have made damn sure that the MB was working correctly. And now the idea of backtracking and saying it wasn't a glitch, even though it was something that needed to be fixed, is just ridiculous.

We managed to pull ahead of them even after the Mystery Box glitch. The reason Stick Together is beating us now is because they've been buying stockpiles from friends on other teams, which I'd say is fair game since you're free to give your own items to whoever you choose.

I will say that I thought from the beginning it seems a bit weird that only one team will get a trophy and not everyone who participated (or at least 1st, 2nd, 3rd), but I won't ask for a forum title or a bonus item for not winning.

That's all I'm going to say on this matter anymore.

The current prizes are fine. After everything that has happened with this event, I don't even want a trophy any more.

As a member of Team Nature, I don't want any runner up items. The prizes were stated in the beginning, and that's that. I don't mind losing. I'm happy knowing that me and certain other Nature members did the best they could.

What does bug me is the reveal of the scores pretty much put Siblings, Nature, and BFFs out of the running. A lot of people got discouraged and quit. This is unfair for us members that are sticking it out until the end.

Team Nature, here. This is my only real complaint as well. :( I hope scores will not be visible until the end of the next event like this.

Also hoping staff remains consistent with their original news post and sticks to the originally intended prizes.

So ... what happened? This thread is talking about this glitch as if it is perfectly common knowledge, but for someone who doesn't go out in the forums too much I'm a bit lost. It's reading like the MB pulled items from one of the qualifying shops, but ... what glitched?
