https://subeta.net/forums.php/read/848688/Team-Mischief-Chat-Thread/119 A lot of people making assumptions about things... If you go from here and read on for several more pages (about 7 pages or so), a lot of us didn't know about the cheaty "secret" until 10 minutes til midnight. And we proceeded to discuss how the method didn't seem subeta legal and if we should report it. Our teammates who used the method at the last second held onto their items and waited for a staff member to say if it was fine or not, before turning them in.
I would gladly have staff look at the logs and take away points on all teams, including my own, for that method. Surely it shouldn't be hard. Hundreds of the same item being spawned from the MB in seconds?
How does one know all the team scores I can only see my teams?

Tbh I'm just salty over the lack of a trophy. Not that we won't win or anything. Team sticky has worked frickin hard as they proved when we got a 20k+ lead after the mb debacle, they're now like 100k in front and I applaud them. But things like trophies, even just a participation medal is like 'You showed up and you tried, well done!' Prizes aren't that great because of how many people are on the team, they're likely to be on the shop search for relatively inexpensive prices. Or if not, staff will put them in the token shop/crystal shop/antique shop and render them useless at a later date anyway.
the scores for other teams are at the bottom of the page where items are donated.
Things like this just make me wonder why I should even bother with team events. They never seem to be handled well when something pops up. In fact, if it weren't for the pet slot I wouldn't even have bothered since the participation prizes didn't interest me and if they did I will be able to buy them after.

i just want a trophy for our team's hard work. that's all. the rest of the stuff can go to sticky for all i care.
and yeah, it would be great if the MB items were nullified because that's not cool.
I'm in Sticky, and I support trophies for everyone. Trophies are awesome and so is everyone.
Except Donald Trump. He's not awesome.
Exactly. I really don't even remember what the prizes were for last year's snowball event. But I love seeing my little trophy and EVERYONE got one, regardless if they won or lost, it just shows you were even there at the event! :(
Thank you, I never scrolled all the way down...

Although I'm on Team BFFs, I agree with you on every part of your post. During the snowball fight, everyone who participated got a trophy. I think that everyone should get one now because of the MB glitch. It's totally fine with me if the winning team got a different trophy than everyone else that participated.

July group!
Regardless of the mb debacle, everybody should have been given a trophy anyway! Or the winners a trophy, everyone else a participation medal. Things like trophies and achievements are more like a memento of the event than a reward imo..like a year later, I probably won't remember the mb debacle. Or the actual items that we were given (can't for the life of me remember last year's??) But gawd that troll is adorable. And you can't delete these things. Or give them away/sell them. They're tied to your account and to YOU. And for what it's worth, I'm annoyed at staff and their response to it but I don't think they should go back and remove any scores or punish anyone for it.
As a Member of Team BFFs, I find it really, very disheartening that the next two teams have more than 100% of our score. Unpopular opinion here, but runner-up prizes sounds good to me. I'm also the kind of people who thinks everyone getting great gifts is good too. Sure, winner team gets the best prizes, but there is nothing wrong with runner-up prizes.
Lessons to be learned: Cheating is okay if everyone does it. If a glitch happens during an event and people exploit it, it isn't a glitch so no one needs to get punished People are salty and have no right to be upset when rules are inconsistently enforced
I'm really impressed by how the vibe of the Team Nature thread has still been super positive and encouraging, even though it was clear from Tuesday that we weren't really in the running.
I must admit that upon seeing the scores I scaled back my efforts compared to how I'd been working at the weekend. However, the Team Nature Thread is still full of people grafting away, investing loads of sp, effort and time - just out of love of the team and the game, with no expectation of a reward for themselves. I feel like those people should get something above the default (well, other than a pat on the back from me - you go, awesome people!).
Obviously nothing's going to change for this event; staff were very clear on the prize system and shouldn't go back on that. However, hopefully it's food for thought for future events.

I'm only here because of the laurs ping, so YES to what said!
LOL Amen. It's nice to look at the trophies on your profile and have them remind you of events of the past. Possible bonus, that nostalgia may be enough to make someone on the fence about playing subeta give it another chance. :D
As to the glitch debacle... Ugh. All this drama makes my stomach sick. Just play the damn game. [edit] Another lesson for you: Not everyone cheats, don't let the cheaters getcha down. <3
I don't care how it ends up because the prize won't be anything I want or need, and I never said everyone cheats. But ignoring the fact that some people cheated and others had to cheat to stay competitive is awful
I'm on Team Sibling, I think we kinda just... accepted that we're gonna lose, but we're still having fun despite that (snow neela and sheeta <3). The fact that we get a pet slot and other cool things for participating is already amazeballs in my book.
What I'm miffed about is the fact that, apparently, churning dozens (if not hundreds) of items into the system in a short period of time isn't considered glitch abuse because "it took your sP for every item". And on the other hand, vending has a cap put on it.
If the snowman competition wasn't happening and the items got shoved into the economy (ex. sold in user shops for profit or got mass-fragged)... Well, I have to wonder - would it still be handled in such a manner? I'm not demanding permabans for anyone here, to be clear. I'd just like to know where the line is drawn on what is and what isn't considered glitch abuse.
The event was fun overall. It was well-paced, I like that it was a community effort and that everyone gets a prize for taking part. The team items being available to everyone via the MC after the event is also excellent. Trophy for participation would also be very nice, hinthint. :P The idea of cutting off registrations and hiding team numbers to prevent piggybacking on the biggest team is pretty damn good, I gotta say. If you do an event like this, I hope you'll do the same registration scheme again.
Well as a couple of people have said, the biggest problem is detection. I doubt the site keeps logs of who bought what from the MB, because why would they? It's just unnecessary to keep; apart from extreme circumstances like this one. A large score isn't indicative of anything. There's no surefire way to prove who did and who did not cheat, so what are they supposed to do? Freeze anyone who looks suspicious? Can you imagine the outcry?
