and the other staff members...

Because it is a major issue in the News I open the topic up for discussion in the forums. Many users are upset and rightly so because they spent csc (meaning: real money!) on the items under the condition that the items are transformable. We can imagine the prices were partly set because of this option. The major opinion is that removing this feature would be cheating the users out of their already spent money.

Some suggestions were made how to solve this problem:

  • the transform option is not removed, the items which were bought in the Cash Shop are listed as "special edition".
  • the transform option is not removed from old items. Users get informed firmly that some transforms are cheaper than others and the advice to look better into prices. Maybe this information could be written under the transformable items.
  • the transform option is removed, but the items can be used once to 'split' into all transformation versions

I´d like the users to discuss the issue with patience and constructivity. Mean words and negativity do not help finding a solution.

Have I forgotten something? Is your opinion/statement/suggestion phrased incorrectly? Please ping me and I´ll add/change it.

Never understood why to make us suffer with transformation.. too many clicks and pages: buying->inventory->item->transform->back to inventory->item->use it......

When we just could do like this: buying->inventory->item->use it

7 actions or 4 actions, what would you prefer?

I like the recent concept of the minions and their items at the cash shop, all the items are there and I buy what I want without all the transformation mess.. So I prefer to cancel it for good even for old items

I don't even understand the need to remove the option? Why did it come up now all of sudden? :c

As for me- I would like for Subeta to keep it. Especially with the wigs it has been always something useful if you switch between Female/Male avatars. It definitely wouldn't sit well if Subeta removed that option from all the old transformable items people paid real money on.

I'd be okay with suggestion 1 or just leaving them as they currently are. It doesn't really personally affect me since I typically buy multiples because I find transforming them annoying. However people who bought only one or two specifically because they were promised they could transform it at will are being screwed over here.

If staff wants to remove the transformable part for items in the future and just release all the various forms I'm 100% okay with that. But don't screw over old users in the process.

Only partially related, just adding this in case any friends are confused about my posting here I'm leaving this evening/some time tomorrow anyway, so this isn't really an issue for me personally anymore (not quitting because of this, just lots of mostly minor annoyances have made the site less enjoyable for me lately - when I already wasn't enjoying it as much here for personal reasons - and this last one just helped me to stop hesitating), but honestly I do think this is unacceptable, so while I'm waiting for some replies from friends I'll just post here.
I'll try to say this less sarcastically than I did in the news comments. (;

You don't sell people products and then turn around later and say "actually we're taking back most of/half of those things you paid for without reimbursing you, you can keep whichever one you like best" and expect people to be happy about it. The transformable items were often more expensive because they were transformable, and I know I certainly felt more inclined to buy them because I considered them worth the extra cost for the option to transform them.

I hope this is just a case where staff have not thought things through at all. I appreciate that you care about the scammers, but users being able to trust staff with their purchases is more important than them being able to trust other users, honestly. If you don't like transformable items and think they're confusing, don't make any more. But I don't see how you can justify taking items back from customers without any attempt to compensate them for their loss, simply because you think it was a poor decision to make said items in the first place.

I'm one who uses the transform option on every transformable item I have, except perhaps the saheric headscarves (Mainly because I got so many of them vending I have almost every variation separately).
The cat/dog transformable wearable companions from the monthly collections would make me the most furious if half of what I bought is taken away, but there are a few transformable wigs that I like to switch between as well.

All of the OP suggestions are good, but if the transform option has to go away for site functionality, I find this one,

Quote
the transform option is removed, but the items can be used once to &;split&; into all transformation versions
to be most agreeable.

I am a wardrobe hoarder and buy every variation of transformable out there.

THAT SAID, I am 100% against removing this option. Add a note in the item description if you want people to know it's transformable. Don't remove the option for those that paid 300 CSC for something instead of 150 CSC for the option of transforming it. There is a /reason/ users were willing to pay more CSC for that item and it wasn't because it had nice artwork or whatev. It was because they could transform it.

From a hoarding standpoint, if you remove the transformable option, the base item is going to become dirt cheap because perhaps someone didn't buy it for that base item but rather the transformable etc, and then the items that transform out of that base option are going to become incredibly expensive and hard to find. It's /nice/ to have that second cheaper option of picking up the base and transforming it. I've saved a ton of sP by having that option.

Pretty much. I've never minded transforable items, it's just clicking anyway. I'm also a wardrobe hoarder (yes - I know there is a chat of removing the achievements) and I buy every transformable options if I need to. I'm not sure what's the deal with the whole transformable issue here? I like to have a wig and go back and forth between them, same for an a piece of clothing. If the staff want to put all items at view, alright. However, I can't say that I'm okay with removing the transform option.

Now that I'm thinking about it ..

SPOILER (click to toggle) Does it mean that the Chunky School Bag will get a decent non-gender normative option for us all? I've been waiting for a long time to use the green colour with boobs y'know.

What's even the point in allowing us to transform them only until the end of Morostide? That's just cruel.

Hopefully staff will change their minds.

I also don't agree with removing the transformable option. These items were transformable. They should remain as such, no matter what form they're offered in via the Spooky Chance machine. If Minions are no longer going to be transformable, that's fine (personally I never cared much for transformable minions. Hair, BGs, clothing and companions, yes. Minions just felt weird as they're technically "alive" on this site), but older minions should not have the transformable option removed. The damage has already been done. These are transformable items and trying to make them untransformable is just wrong in every sense of the way.

I also agree with the following:

Quote by Turokai
...if the transform option has to go away for site functionality, I find this one,
the transform option is removed, but the items can be used once to &;split&; into all transformation versions
to be most agreeable. I think that that would be the most fair. We bought the original version. The transformable version. If Staff wants to suddenly make these minions untransformable, then some of the cost should be absorbed by staff and they should give us all the items that would come from transforming those minion. No matter what form it's already in (minion itself, wearable, other item). We already paid for the ability to have the transformable option. Why should we be made to suffer?

Moving forward if ALL (and I mean all: any collection/donation present item ever to be on this site and any other transformable wearable item; collection/present or others) transformable options are going to be removed from items that are CURRENTLY TRANSFORMABLE, then those of us who have bought them already should be given all versions of them. It's not fair to force us to choose ESPECIALLY if we could only afford ONE of that item and knew that we could take it out of our wardrobes and transform it to the other form if we needed/wanted to wear the other form. What would happen then? We'd lose our item and be stuck with only ONE of the two that we so wanted but could only afford to buy ONE of its forms.

It's the CW Pawn Shop all over again. That shop was literally CLEARED which was full of all sorts of REAL MONEY items. REAL MONEY!!! Now this is happening again with OTHER real money items?!? This isn't right. We put our money on this site and then it gets done away with like this. Like someone said in a news comment post, "This is shady."

a strap that heavy and thick would compress the boob; especially with what could be put in that bag. If it has a boob curvature version, then that's just weird O_o Something like that strap in RL wouldn't let that curvature to happen due to how it's been made

You do realize that both have the same overlay right? It's just that the colours are different and unfair. I don't think it has anything to do with boobs. Hence why I think it should be a transformable item.

At least they're giving us notice that they're going to be changing. I don't necessarily agree that they should change, just because recent items like these minions have come out in sets already, and why bother changing them at this point?

At one point, items transforming in-wardrobe was a (supposedly) planned feature. One I'd still like to see, personally ( mentioned that some items will still transform, like the , which makes the whole 'we're doing this to streamline and make it consistent/less confusing' thing ring pretty false). You would still need more than one copy to wear them at the same time, but it would remove the tediousness.

That is part of the reason many people only bought one. To say 'oops, better buy more now!' that it is in a chance machine and/or inflated in sP? Shitty. Especially given the price it was sold at before was because it was transformable.

I suggested all three (or at least close). 's reply seemed to shut down 1 and 2, even though I feel they're the less nuclear options/should be given more consideration than they seemingly were. But if the site truly wants the items to no longer transform at all, full stop, nope, then option 3 is only fair.

Edit/P.s.: "Special" solutions have absolutely been applied to CS items before, because they are CS items (refund policy, plushies giving CSC, etc). That's a reasonable action to take here, instead of it being majorly disadvantageous to have bought a real money item in the past. This isn't a simple price cut, it's a total rework.

Edit 2: Fixed item mentioned.

Ugh. I bought only one copy of the cat/dog adoption papers because that was all I could afford at the time. All but one I have as the cat version. If/when these loss the ability to transform I really seriously want a warning so I can change that one dog papers to the cat version.

On the flip side, I no longer remember how much I spent, in sp to get the csc, on those zodiac wigs. I bought so many of them just so I could have each version. That is what, 36 wigs total? I would not have bought all those if they were non-transformable. Most likely I would have just picked one of each set that had the better item art.

I also have a couple versions of that transformable squid in a tc. Even though I don't plan on changing them I like that I have the ability if I want.

I would love it if transformable items had it in their description that they are transformable. I always check items to see where they came from but it does get annoying in the monthly collections trying to remember which item is the transformable one I want.

I kind of don't understand them wanting to move away from transformable items, yet every collection lately has had those type of items. :/ I really enjoy the transformable items. Sometimes that is the only reason I get the item because it does go into more than one form. I think the best is to leave as is and just put a note in the description about it being transformable. People would know or if they didn't know what that meant (new to the site) they would ask.

I don't know, I like the change. It doesn't really affect me at all and makes things simpler.

Though they will need to keep the transform option on because lol at having both.
