Guys, we aren't going to change every single item! The minion sets like this are confusing and expensive and we're fixing them. Lots of other CS items have had their prices reduced, that's half of the reason we're doing this! We're planning on adding info to the descriptions or something to make it clear for items that are just two (like the projector, wigs, etc). If you needed multiple copies of the transformables they cost way more per item than they should, and they're pretty confusing. There isn't a perfect solution, but we're fixing things like this as best we can.

Thank you, I was just thinking about that while reading through this thread. I don't give a shit about wearing them, but as a scaling weapon, this matters. I would assume the trident would be left alone as an exception.

Now if it could be transformed within the armory instead of having to remove it altogether, thus lose the mod crystals on it, that'd be sweet.

As for general transformation items, why not just grandfather the old ones and stop releasing new transformable items?

It just seems like this was randomly decided upon over night too, because our collection this month has transformable items. I somehow think the right hand isn't talking to the left hand, causing all sorts of confusion.

[edit]Oh juxtaposition fails loves me. Thank you for clarifying what's going on.

But the problem still persists: There ARE users who bought the items for the original price because of the transform option. And they are screwed over if the transform option is now removed. And that´s not tolerable.

It´s bad enough that users get scammed by other users. But to get scammed by staff is indefinitely worse. And that´s the feeling most of the users have at the moment. It´s not the removing part in general which generates the butt hurt but the feeling that something is taken away from us which we paid real money for.

Seems a bit of an exaggeration to claim staff is scamming users over this when I don't think that is the intent. So far, this change seems to only be affecting the two items, so maybe we should start there before assuming the end is near. ^^;

It really would be silly to go and remove the transform option from other already-existing items. Leave'em alone and just indicate the item transforms in the description. Then users will go to SL to see what it transforms into and which transformation is cheaper to buy to get what they want.

However, if transforming items are being phased out, then I would suggest staff stop creating new ones now.

I echo on one point by saying that we should not have to choose any one form of a transformable item if we could only buy one of that item. People bought a single (for one of two or even both of these reasons: they could only afford 1 or they just wanted 1 as they knew that they could transform it) knowing that if we wanted another form of it they could transform the only copy of the minion they had to get it. Now what? Will they be forever forced to have only one of the forms that the minion could transform into when they wanted more than that (which they got via transformation)? What if it was a part time gallery item and part time wardrobe item; one form being a plushie and the other the wearable? What then? Doesn't seem right to make someone choose between the two.

I didn´t say that´s what staff is doing or that´s the intent. I said it´s the feeling the users have at the moment. And therefore it is necessary to discuss the topic. Many users are upset so better address the issue. I completely agree with you to keep a level head hence why I asked for discussing the topic with patience and constructivity.

I'd say there's more of confusion than anything else, but yes, you are right. Any time a major change is being made, I think these discussion threads are incredibly important for everyone.

Now whether or not some users actually come out of the woodwork to read these discussions or remain oblivious is their own problem and a different can of worms. xD

But this isn't a regular price change. You're essentially taking away items that people already purchased. It's not like someone buying a single wearable at full price and then watching it discounted by 30% during a sale. That happens all the time and people expect it. Here, you have people who have bought a set of items at full price, and now you're taking them away and making them repurchase them.

As I said in the news post, I don't have a personal stake in this because I don't own a Crowley or a Baticus, but this still doesn't sit well with me.

Baticus had two wearables, yes? The wig and the wings. For someone who only keeps one copy in their wardrobe to transform back and forth they will be stuck with whichever form its in come Nov 1, yes? They will be stuck with either the wig or wings even though they had previously paid for all the items with the purchase of the minion.

This is what I don't agree with. Users should not have to pay for their item(s) twice.

Transformable items are literally BOGO specials. To freeze the item now would be like Kohl's advertising a 'free gift with purchase' special or a Buy 1 Get 1 deal then hunting down everyone who took advantage of the sale to demand payment for the free item.

If the site is to move away from transforming items then please stop releasing new ones. If old items are to be messed with then transform should replaced with split so as to split the item into its various counterparts +the original with no option to merge them again.

To help with the confusion stick a "**Transformable" at the end of the description of items that will be left alone.

As for being duped by other users during second-hand purchase deals, it's their own fault. It is the Buyer's responsibility to research the item they may potentially purchase. Just like it would be the Buyer's responsibility to do the research when shopping around for a new car. This is coming from someone who had been screwed on second-hand purchases of transforming items. The blame for it sits squarely on my own shoulders and no-one else.

Uhm...as far as i could tell...they said something only about the two Morostide transformables... It kind of seems like people are overreacting. They said NOTHING about other transformable items. Just those two in that announcement. That said I already have what I wanted out of that collection of items, so...shrugs

These were pricy so we&;re fixing them while rereleasing. Some items won&;t be fixed (the star projector comes to mind--the item was originally released too dark by mistake and we wanted to have both options available so we just made that transform between the two), but we&;ll end up fixing most of them eventually. Same with the chance bags.

I don't understand why everyone is assuming that all the transformable items are going to be changed when these are being changed to go with the more recent sets that are already split.

I seriously hope these transformable items are either grandfathered in to staying as they are and new items are just never made transformable or we get an option to split the items into 2/3/whatever, depending on how many things they could originally transform to.

I know I have at least 1 item that transforms and now I'm worried I'm only going to be stuck with 1 option when I originally had 3 and I know it's going to stress me out picking what to keep it as.

~That doesn't Negate my point., the primary of which is that people are really freaking out... That is why they gave all the transformation possibilities in the chance machine I imagine.

As for those worried about their multiples being the same item.... it says very clearly, make sure they are all in your wardrobe/inventory/TC's etc. as what you wanted, because you won't be able to change them after Morostide. They will stay what you left them last.

NOT happy about this.

Yes, items have had prices reduced before, but that is not the same thing at all as what is happening here.

If someone purchased an item at an original price that was later reduced, that initial purchase was still done with feeling that that the higher price was worth it for the item.

I purchased the transforming Crowley feeling it was worth it because it was a transforming item. I would not have felt the price was justified if I was just buying one of the item choices. Now taking away the transforming option, you are retroactively making me have paid more for an item than I would have been willing to, and not only that, if I want to get back the same functionality (having to go and get multiple copies) I'm going to have to pay even more after I already overpaid? Not cool, Subeta.

I think people are more upset about having to pay a second or third time for an item they already own.

When bought that item the purchase price included the other two options. Zay bought all 3 options with the purchase of the original item and should not be made to pay for them again.

The discussion also needs to cover all transformable items that will be affected by this no matter how slow in coming it may be, not just the two minions put into the chance machine.

I can't say I like the idea of getting rid of transformable items all that much -- it just seems like a ploy to get people to spend more money, often for two or three items that are very similar.

I'm also going to throw my support behind the idea that we be allowed to "split" any transformable item we already own that has that function removed.

Hey guys, I just want to clear some things up. We aren’t going to be changing every single cash shop item that transforms (examples being monthly collection wigs, weapons the transform). We’re just looking at the minions that transform (Hungry Whale, Lazlo, Beaky, as examples).

We’ve seen that it works a lot better in this system from the Themed Items than it did with the transforming minions. I understand that it’s very useful to have wearables transform so you don’t have to buy copies, but for those trying to complete collections it all adds up to be something very costly. If you take a look at the cash shop, we have a lot of collection items (books, plushies, beanbags) under themed items as around 100-150CSC. Foods, toys, stickers are generally 75-100 csc. Even wearables aren’t 250 (which is the cost of one transforming minion).

The transformable items we are keeping (like monthly collection wigs, those cats/dogs from monthly collections etc), we’ll be adding notes in their descriptions that they transform in to x item. and I want items to be very clear as to what they can become and what they do (so if you guys know of other things, let us know! We’ve added info to those water bottles that give you the camel experiment pet, added notes to miracle potions, etc).

~ Oh I see that....I bought two Crowleys so I didn't have to mess with pulling it out to transform...we'll see how they actually handle it. I still think people are kind of knee jerking... but that's all too common when Anything gets changed, there's so much wailing and gnashing of teeth, and biting... without considering the Staff position on things, that I find it depressing.I just think people need to stop counting unhatched chickens..and ...calm down a bit. The vitriol every time the staff changes something is wearisome. :/

Grandfathering the people who already have the item in their account, and allowing them to split it into the component items is not a bad idea. If the Staff actually think that people overpaid, then give them something for their money expenditure on the site. That is fair.
