Did we...get a site ping for this? If we did, I totally missed this but

Achievements were retired and account worth page is no longer there.
The only staff post I can find on it is:
Yeah I don't see a ping or anything in this post. It was just said in P&B. D:
I'm not sure how I feel about this
I get that the page was a problem, has been for some time, but that achievement is something a lot of people worked towards, and I think it merited some warning before retirement.
I know it was broken for ages but a little bit of warning would have been nice.

I'm so glad this feature is gone, honestly. It has never been accurate and I HATE accidentally clicking on that page when trying to click "account search". x: It's my own fault for not paying more attention, but every time I make that mistake I immediately know what I've done thanks to the RIDICULOUS LAG that occurs.
I feel for achievement hunters, but the page literally had no other use beyond that and I don't think it's an achievement that the majority of people actively strive to obtain.
I don't mind that it was removed either since there was just an overwhelming amount of problems with it, but I agree it should've been a siteupdate ping or something.
The damn account worth page was never accurate, what with item prices potentially fluctuating too much for the page to keep track of. It can also be pretty misleading.
Besides, isn't the worth of your account something that cannot necessarily be measured by numbers, but rather is measured by your own sense of pride and personal accomplishments?

The page was a pain in the ass, rarely loading (if at all) for me and some of the numbers were like WTF..
In regards to the page itself, I'm fine with it being gone. It never should have existed in the first place, imo. It was always inaccurate and didn't really add anything to anyone's playing experience. I kinda have a bad taste in my mouth from it suddenly getting yanked, though (from an achievement perspective).
I'm surprised it lasted for as long as it did. I hated going to that page. It was a crap shot if would load for me and the lag was horrible. I had to a couple of times force my browser to shut down because it froze.
And the prices of items being wildly wrong and higher then they where.
I forgot there was an achievement tied to that page. I don't remember how or when I got the top tier. Odd.

The issue is not with the page itself, I'M okay with it being gone.
My questioning is more about the part where there was no ping or warning. Isn't this why we have # sitefeedback?
For me it's not so much the warning part about it, but more of a heads up as to the fact that they finally removed it. Yes Keith explained it in that one post linked here, but there was no greater mention of it to the rest of the site as a whole. Unless you happened upon that specific post you wouldn't even know about it. That's the point people are getting at, just that there should've been a more site-wide message of "Hey we finally removed this feature, just so you know."
It didn't require a newspost, just a ping to the forum group to tell us "Hey, this feature is not working anymore, we're discontinuing it"
We hardly ever get siteupdate pings for things that we should be pinged for, and when we do they only actually come through half the time for some people.
[edit] RE: the page being removed. I don't really care tbh, I have way too many CWs taking up my "unpriced items" section that I'd never be able to find anything besides CWs in that list anyway and it's been so wildly inaccurate for so long that I never used it. The only time I went there was to test it when other people were having trouble with it
The only annoying part for me personally is the achievement side.
I never said it required a newspost? I don't disagree that there should have been an announcement that the page itself was being removed, but I don't understand the need for a warning about the achievement itself retiring. What were people going to do? Rush and try to get the achievement from a page that doesn't work anymore? I really don't understand what a warning would have done there?
If you visit the account worth page now, it says that maybe someday in the future it will be back, and if it ever does, I'm sure they'll unretire the achievement.
I don't think a warning would've helped at all. I haven't gone to that page in months because half the time it never loaded anyway. If they would've said "hey, this is being discontinued" it wouldn't have mattered in the long run. No one could get that extremely broken page to load and even for some slim chance it did, the numbers were way off. Not to mention if you didn't get the achievements as a newbie... unless you had nothing on your account or something, there isn't any way you'd be able to get those achievements regardless.
tl;dr It's gone and there's nothing we can do about it. It was broken anyway.
