Yups, a ping after the fact to tell us that it's gone is fine by me. I mean, a ping takes 5 seconds

We got a 5 seconds ping for the emojis last night, no offense, emoji lovers, but the removal of a broken site function is as worthy of a site update ping than this. When cults go the way of the dodo, we should get a ping too.

Considering it took me four days to notice it was gone, would a sitefeedback ping on the 7th really have hurt? It's ten seconds. No need for even an announcement.

With the rationale you brought in the Bugs forums, I can totally understand why it was removed. Like I said, I didn't want a warning 1 week ahead, I wanted a sitefeedback ping after it was done, for communication's sake.

I just don't like to dig everywhere in the forums for information I could have gotten via the forum group.

Speaking of broken things that should have died months ago, when are we going to finally remove cults?

We can tell that they're working again based on the fact that we can now see them. So why did they get a ping when the removal of a site feature did not? Functional or not, I think it deserved a ping personally.

I sure hope we get a warning if/when this happens. Our cult still uses the safe and bank and I would not want to lose anything. We've a fair amount of funds and items for the cult shop in there.

I have to admit, I think a site ping would have been helpful.

I accept the feature was broken for a while, but I was hoping it might get fixed - so to find out from this thread that it's been removed completely was a surprise.

Also agree on the point made about the ping for the emojis working again..nice to have them back, but imo both issues warranted a site wide ping.

I assume a lot of other achievements will end up being 'retired' as a lot of the site degrades and breaks further. Better that we don't know when they get 'retired'. It's depressing.

The difference is that with a ping, you don't leave people confused as to whether the missing page is a bug or not, or whether it's coming back. You also get a chance to explain your reasoning upfront (it was a resource hog and it was broken anyway) for the people who wouldn't otherwise understand.

I wouldn't have issued it as a warning, for the reasons already mentioned. But you could have pinged the group right after taking the page down.

And I mean it's kind of silly that the only official notice is on the page itself, which is no longer accessible without jumping through hoops.

I can't believe I missed out on the account worth page, I only sign in once a year to check my worth then I split. It was the only thing I found moderately fun on subeta anymore, and I just liked to see the numbers climb on some of my retired, rare items. I'm very sad it's gone.

I'm absolutely delighted the page is gone.

That said, I do think it would have been good to mention this change briefly in Site Updates. If nothing else, it might keep a few people from posting about it in bugs, and I'm all for a more informed userbase.

If emojis get a siteupdate ping, I'm not sure why this wouldn't.

I haven't used it since before CWs were released, but it was kind of fun seeing which random old items were valued at ridiculous amounts. Honestly I do think that it was an unnecessary feature so I'm not surprised at the bugs and removal.

glad I already have all the achievements for it... and I didn't really use it, so I'm okay with it being gone :p

I miss the feature a lot, but I would rather subeta didn't die from it.

I enjoyed the Account Worth page back when it still worked for me. It wasn't very accurate, but it was neat to see a breakdown of my account. I didn't know it had finally been removed.

Maybe in the future, rather than trying to tally a bunch of items, the account worth page could be brought back as just a stats page for our accounts? Like a tally of our currencies, how much our shops have earned, how many battles our pets have been in, the combined total of TC items and books read, etc. Just all the little stuff that's already getting tallied up, but added together and all put one place?

Sorry for reviving this old thread. I noticed JUST NOW that the page has gone and never noticed it was unstable before. (Been some months that it´s gone now, well, must be some sort of a record?) Just wondering: where can I see that which items I have are worth the most now? I need some sP and wanted to get rid of some worthier things I don´t need badly. With the account worth page gone, I have no idea where to look for that list of 20 items on my account which are worth the most - it was so handy, even if it wasn´t completely accurate. Or do I have to check manually for each item now? (That would take ages, especially in my wardrobe...)
