I actually got the achievements early in 2014.
Considering that staff is going on a "SP hoarding is bad" tangent, no. I have a feeling that even if it comes bac, the achievement def. won't be back
Keeping that achievement retired isn't going to stop people from hoarding sP, and keeping it open isn't going to encourage it more than anything else does. People hoard because they want to, and can.
All I was trying to say is, a warning for a useless achievement retiring is pointless. There doesn't seem to be any intention on getting the page fixed or keeping it around right now. If they had kept the broken account worth page up, the achievement open, and made an announcement that said "we'll be retiring the account worth page and achievement in a few days/week", it would have been pointless. No one could have done anything because the page wouldn't work. I'm not trying to fight, my first post was a general inquiry. What difference would a warning about the achievement retiring make?
People would have actually known instead of asking "Hey, where did the feature go" and the only answer was in Problems and Bugs.
Why are people that opposed to a single ping when a feature is removed? Pinging takes five seconds. I don't even care for a warning for a retired achievement, but I do care when site features are broken, and I do care about being told when it's removed.
edit: I never said I was opposed to an announcement. In fact, I said the opposite.
Why was no one told? Why did we have to find out about this ourselves? Retiring this achievement seems like something that would be pinged about. Isn't that what Site Updates is for? If it's too small of a ping, lump it together with some other minor site announcements and make one post.
Disappointed.

You mean to tell me that page still existed until just now?! xD Dang. Because it wasn't working for me for a good half a year now if not more lol.
I can't miss something that wasn't there. :x
I don't mind them removing a broken feature without telling us in a ping. It didn't work, it was a huge query that there wasn't a good way to optimize. oh well.
Would have liked to have known but no big deal on it either. I couldn't get it to load and barely ever visited. Would have liked the achievements however but that's not the first one that retired on me and wont be the last! -lol-
I wish there was a ping.
I only liked going on that page and using it to see where I had a lot of potential sP stored and see if I wanted to sell anything (even if it was faulty). But I won't miss it.
Honestly, I knew the page never worked, and with the amount of items I have hoarded, it never loaded for me no matter how many times I refreshed, so it doesn't personally affect me, but forreal why not utilize the siteupdate group? Isn't that what it's for? "Hi we changed this just letting you know but it's not important enough for a news post but that's all okay bye!"
I mean, if they went and retired the hoarding achievement and didn't go about announcing it other than on a random ass thread, I would be PISSED. Just saying.
So yea, utilize the group and stuff.
A number of months back, I had finally gotten that shop til achievement and tried to get the 'Keeping Cash' achievement, but it didn't work. I was told that the achievement wasn't working by some people, and then others were still able to get it. I kept checking back and just... nothing. I felt kind of proud since I've been on this site for 10 years and it had been to first time I saved up that much to even have a chance at getting those achievements. Yesterday, I found out that the Account Worth was gone. I can understand why, it did create unnecessary lag and it often wasn't correct.
Oh well.

My account has been so massive, with my wardrobe and former minion collection (gone now), that the page hasn't worked for me pretty much... ever. Broken links should not exist on site and neither should broken achievements.
I don't care much about warning since I've pulled back from the site lately. Meh.
I don't mind staff getting rid of a feature that never worked all that well and has been flat out broken for quite some time now. I understand for the people who were going for the achievements that they would have preferred notice, but I also don't think a week's worth of notice likely wouldn't have made a huge difference in attaining the achievements for most users. Some probably, but not most. Some of those achievement tiers can take an exceedingly long time to hit (especially the later ones, plus tons of people got all of them awhile back when the page glitched pretty bad too), and right now I'd honestly rather see resources put toward Morostide and the v3 wardrobe if I have to pick and choose.
I don't really see the point of a notice when the page didn't even load for most of us. Would you want the page fixed - so we can check our account worth/possibly get the achievement - or would you be happy with notice and it not working during that period?
I don't think there's any point diverting resources if the page is going to be taken down anyway.
I don't honestly see why so many people have a problem with this. The page had been broken for months, had never worked properly and was never going to work. I'm only surprised it hadn't been removed sooner. If you want to know about staff's comments and small changes around the site, read the admin posts. That's what they're there for.
The item pricing almost never works anyways. There was an issue not long ago that caused items prices to mess up, and people who checked the achievement got all of them. Went from hardest to easiest for some lucky ones those few days.
The Ideal: Early warning via news + ping. The Hope: Zero-day warning via news + ping. The Usual: Warning via ping only. The Subeta: Nothing!
What a troublesome page, I'm glad that it's gone. Definitely not the end of the world we didn't get pinged about it though. Ping everyone so they can all go and click on it and bog the site down? no thanks
I got the achievements about the first time I started playing; bought 500 csc and sold it for sP. It was the only thing on my account so it was instant 4 achievements lol. Good times.
I have a feeling he didn't ping before he took it down on purpose. Can you imagine the load on the servers as hundreds of users rush to the page and cause a classic squirrel fest? LOL A ping after the fact would've been appropriate though IMO. And I know the page wasn't accurate, but TBH I liked that page in a weird sort of way.
