"Welcome.. to the Ravenclaw Common Room. You are about to embark on a wonderful part of your lifetime.. your time here at Hogwarts." Trelawney waves her arms about in a flourish. "As some of you have seen, to enter the Common Room, you must answer a riddle. Answer the riddle wrong, and you must wait for another to come along and answer correctly. I suggest to keep an open mind when considering the questions. I have found it to be particularly helpful, with the riddles and when looking into the beyond! I have no doubt you will all get the hang of it in no time." She hiccups lightly. "I hope to see some of you in my classes to come. Now, the dormitories are just to your right." She points off to the set of stairs. "Now, if you don't mind, I must go warn our new Headmistress of what I have seen in her planetary chart."

Hooray! Happy to be here in the Ravenclaw common room. We need to rally and earn some house points! We're holding our own, but we need to put in some extra effort! Hopefully there are more lessons soon...that should be a Ravenclaw strong suit. :D

Ok to start the RP........

Amanda looks around the common room with interest. What a beautiful room! It's lovely to be so high in a tower. There is such a great view of the grounds from here! Amanda picks up Luna and heads to the chairs next to the fire place. She hopes that some other students will join her soon!

Our own place to call home...YAY!!!!! Feels so more real now.

RP time

Selene made her way slowly to the common room with her cat Spice on her heels. She'd heard stories all her life from her parents, but it was overwhelming in person. She noticed another student in the room as Spice already made her way over to them.

Luna stands up and sniffs Spice. She then does her signature move and flops down next to Spice on the rug in front of the fire and starts purring.

Amanda turns to Selene and smiles. "Isn't it lovely in here? The view, the colors, the inspiring Rowena Ravenclaw statue...it couldn't be any more perfect. Sorry...My name is Amanda. What's your name? What do you think of the common room and our new head of house?"

Beth looked around the common room in awe.

Wow! This common room is beautiful, Beth thought to herself.

Beth walked to one of the bookshelves, browsing through it before grabbing a book that sparked her interest. She notices two students talking as she heads toward the fireplace.

Spice happily purrs along with Luna while she enjoys the warmth from the fire. Spice is pleased to know she'll have hunting companions in the house.

Selene turns to the other student. "At least I know I'm in the right place," she replies with a smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you Amanda. I'm Selene. The view is very inspiring. The stores I heard about this place don't do it justice."

Selene chats happily as she notices another student coming toward them.

Amanda is happy there is already a group of girls to chat with. And equally happy that Luna seems content, and has already made a friend. "Hi, I'm Amanda and this is Selene. How are you? What book did you pick?"

Hey everyone! It is so exciting to be here, right? I am Beacharycuddlesmooch but please call me Beach, all my friends do and I know we will be such good friends here. This is Kittea and she is always good for a cuppa! ;) Yawn Oh, dear, it has been a long day. All those games and meeting new friends has worn me out! See you all tomorrow? I'll just grab a book and head up to bed. Night all! :D

"Hi. I'm Beth. It's a pleasure to meet all of you. I'm excited to be here," says Beth with a smile.

Beth quickly glances at the title of the book in her hand.

"I'm reading Hogwarts: A History by Bathilda Bagshot"

"I read that book as soon as I got my letter, Beth. It's great. Bagshot is a wonderful historian."

She knew it was late, but she just wasn't tired yet. She was full of excitement for her first week of classes. "Does anyone want to play a game of wizards chess before bed?"

"That's good to hear. I want to learn as much as possible about Hogwarts."

"Sure. I'd love to play a game," says Beth as she sets the book aside.

"Great! Let me go grab my chess set!" She ran up to the dormitories and after a quick look around at this new space, she grabbed her chess set and ran back down the stairs. Her chess set had been inherited from her Grandfather, and were very battered. This was actually an advantage for her. She had been taught to play with these pieces by her grandfather, so they trusted her. They were one of her prized possessions.

Beth sat in a nearby armchair as Amanda ran up to the dormitories.

It must be really late, Beth thought to herself, noticing the nearly empty common room.

She patiently waited for Amanda. Beth was happy for a chance to play wizard chess, a game she hadn't played in years.

Selene smiled softly as she shook the others hands, "It's a pleasure to meet you all." She was a bit nervous starting the new school year but meeting the others put her fears at ease. It was going to be a great semester. She sat beside Beth as they waited for Amanda to return.

"Have you played Wizards Chess before?" Beth asked Selene.

"It's been a very long time. I remember my grandfather teaching me when I was small, but I would usually get board and just move the pieces all over the board," Selene smiled.

"What's you favorite game to play?" Beth said with a smile.

Selene though for a moment. "Exploding snap is always a fun game of chance. Never know what's going to happen ii always a bit of fun," she smiled thoughtfully. "Though I do hope they decide to hold a wizard skittles tournament. It happens to be a specialty of mine. What about you?"
