"Snitch Snatcher! is my favorite board game," said Beth with excitement. "I've never played Wizard Skittles before. How do you play it?"

"It's another board game where each player gets pieces and must knock over as many as they can with little balls. The goal of the game is to knock down as many skittles as possible," she explained. "I believe it's our board game equivalent of the muggle bowling game."

Hey! I created a forum group for all the Ravenclaws. I think it can be useful for when we want to remind each other about challenges, giveaways or to participate in the RPs.

Ravenclaw House

Amanda runs back down the stairs with her chess set under her arm. She throws herself into the armchair and said breathlessly, "Sorry that took so long! I got distracted looking around for a second, then it took me a while to find my chess pieces in my trunk!" She quickly set up her pieces and they began to play!

"When my sisters and I were younger, we would often play Wizard's Chess. Do you play Wizard's Chess often?" Beth asked as they played.

(I thought it would be a good idea to form the group. Hopefully more Ravenclaws will post in our common room. ^.^)

Emryse walked into the room mumbling and bumping into a chair, while dropping an old book. She looked up and around, then smiled."I see I missed Miss Trelawney's speech.Lucky me!" I'm Emryse" Looking at the Wizzard Chess she shivered."Grandfather made me use the the lifelike version once. I still can't see the game without hearing the screams"

Shaking off the feeling she walked towards a chair near the fireplace, cuddling the bunny and shoving the book under a pillow

Mei had spent a long while outside the common room trying to think of the correct answer to the riddle, and for a moment after she'd given her answer she'd had the sinking feeling that she had gotten it wrong. But the portrait had opened and now she was inside.

She peered shyly into the cozy looking tower. Other girls were already there, and it seemed they were about to start playing a game. Mei thought they probably wouldn't want her bothering them, so she slunk quietly over to the nearest bookshelf.

But wait, wasn't it rude not to introduce herself? She froze, now entirely uncertain what to do.

(Hi everyone! I'm new and excited to be here. Thanks for making the group!)

Eep, I'm not very good at RPing, so please treat this as OOC or just pretend it's in RP? I'm super-excited to be in Ravenclaw and am trying to participate in activities to earn house points where I can. :)

This has to be one of the best ping events I've had in a long time though - not going to delete this one for awhile! "You've been accepted into Ravenclaw House!"

"I used to play a lot when I was younger with my grandpa! I still play it from time to time with my little brother! What about you?" (Oh wow! I haven't checked the scores in a while. YAY! I still have lessons and activities to do too!)

Amanda gives a small wave to the girl that just sat down in an armchair nearby with her bunny.

Amanda sees a new girl come into the common room, and she seems a little nervous. She calls out to her, "Hey! Want to come sit with us?"

Before Beth could ponder too long on her next move, she was distracted by Emryse's statement. She couldn't imagine having to play a lifelike form of Wizard's Chess.

"I haven't played it in a while. I think the last time I played was a few years ago. I've never heard of Wizard's Chess coming in a lifelike version. Have you?"

Beth gives the new girl a warm smile as Amanda asks her to join them.

(Yay we're in second place! Nice work everyone! ^_^ - I'm not very good at RPing either, but I'm sure it's okay for you to jump in whenever, if you decide you feel like it. Nice to meet everyone!)

Mei glanced over at the other girl alarmed. She hadn't even seen her come in! She waved awkwardly, but felt she had probably missed her opportunity to say hello properly.

"Oh, okay..." Mei said in a tiny voice. "Thank you," She moved cautiously over to where the other girls were playing their game.

"My name is Mei," she blurted quickly, before she forgot. "Nice to meet you all..."

She looked down at the game they were playing - Wizard's Chess, they had called it? It certainly looked like a chess board, only as she approached she realized the pieces were moving all on their own, and one of the pawns suddenly started shouting belligerently about why it was taking so long for his next turn.

Mei let out an embarrassingly high-pitched shriek and flinched backwards.

Right. Magic. She could still hardly believe any of this was happening. The other girls seemed quite used to it. Maybe they were all from wizard families? How daft she must seem to them! Of course she would make a fool of herself right away!

"Sorry," she whispered, hanging her head, feeling her cheeks grow hot.

(Sorry, that post got long! As I said before, I'm not very good at RPing, so please feel free to let me know if I should change how I'm doing things or anything. xP)

If anyone is interested, I am currently looking to improve my art skills. If you'd like a portrait of your character (or if you guys would be interested in having me draw out some of the things we RP), feel free to send me a description, or picture references and I'll get to work on them :)

Example: Ember is mixed race, with olive skin, hazel eyes, curly dark brown and golden curls, and a splash of freckles on her cheeks and nose. Taller than the average female, with a thick, athletic figure, she enjoys playing Keeper. Often cheerful, inquisitive, and occasionally clumsy.

It can be more or less detailed, it just helps out with the drawing~

Selene watched as the girl played and happily called out, "I play winner."

"I'm terrible at this. I hope you have better luck than I do," Beth said to Selene as she lost another one of her chessmen to Amanda.

Beth turned her attention to Mei. "I'm Beth, Have you played Wizard's Chess before?" asked Beth.

Amanda scrutinizes the board and thinks she might have miraculously outsmarted Beth. She was surprised, she hadn't played in so long. She thought her veteran pieces must have been a help. They had known her since she was little, after all. She wasn't sure if she would have the same luck against another opponent though.

(ooc: This logic puzzle is so frustrating!!! I don't know if I'm going to be able to solve it! Just turned in my CoMC homework though! :D)

"Sorry if my castle scared you. They can become quite hostile when their king is threatened. They really are harmless though." She smiled at the girl.

Her castle though was outraged at being called harmless and began shouting from the corner of the board. Amanda tried to quiet him hastily, but was actually giggling at the silly chess piece.

Distracted from her thoughts of the assignemt Professor Sparks had given them she looked at Mei and smiled. "Hiya Mei isn't it?" First time I saw chesspieces move I thought I'd gone crazy! My parents lived among the Muggles and my grandfather decided I needed lessons in magic after I had a long list of weird accidents.My parents agreed on having me on Hogwarts as long as I could be abe to visit them during holidays.And here I am.

Sounds really cool! I have to think about it though :)

As she pondered on making the chesspieces on the sideline do the hokey pokey her thoughts wandered off again, but not before watching the White Queen chess piece slap her King in the face, thinking it was him who pinched her in public. Emryses eyes twinkled and muffled a grins by coughing.

(OOC: Don't forget this week's HA Challenge ends tonight at 11:59pm. Everyone has done a great job with their wizard career HAs. c: *Miss Kain's weekly activities end tomorrow (8/14). I believe Mary finishing grading the activities she's received.)

(OOC: I haven't had much practice with logic puzzles. I think it helps writing it out on a piece of paper. That's what I did. It really helped me out! c: Plus, it never hurts to try. I really liked the CoMC assignment.)

"I don't think I've introduced myself to you yet. I'm Beth," said Beth to Emryse. "Did your parents attend Hogwarts?" she asked.

"Nope" said Amryse. Both my parents were Muggle. They told me I had been adopted, but I loved them very much.

"You must have been quite surprise when you got your letter to Hogwarts."
