I really want to go inside the Forbidden Forest but it's too dangerous. I wouldn't want to lose house points just to see who lives there."

"UNICORNS!" Gaia looks embarrassed at her outburst. "Sorry! I didn't mean to startle anyone! Of course I love the kitchens! But I think my favorite part of the castle have to be the green houses."

"Oh yeah...well yes and no." Ethel snorted. "I don't miss sharing a bathroom and squabbling over private space and stuff, but I do miss hanging out with them and playing games and stuff. It's weird to go from seeing them almost every day to not at all."

"Only Alfred and Seaxburh've been yet: they've both been and gone. Seaxburh graduated last year. The rest are still too little!" A wave of homesickness washed over her thinking about it. She hugged her knees to her chest and gave Beth a determined smile.

"But we can keep in touch with our family, right? I bet you send your sisters and parents loads of letters."

Talking about sweets was a much less melancholic topic, one Ethel jumped on eagerly. "That's a fantastic idea, Beth! With the fireplace, we have our own little kitchen. I bet we can teach ourselves some great cooking charms too!"

OOC: The reference sheet is a great idea! I was just thinking the other day what a slog it was going through the thread and trying to remember who'd said what about themselves XD

"What house were they sorted into? Were they in Ravenclaw? I bet you heard loads of stories about their time at Hogwarts. Did they give you any advice?"

"I've been trying to keep in contact with my family as much as possible. I get letters from my dad every day. My sister at Beauxbatons doesn't respond as much. I wish she kept more in contact with us. I see Lyn everyday here. It's so nice having a familiar face around. Have you met her yet?"

OOC: I keep losing track of names, pets.......whether or not they have Muggle parents. It gets confusing. I figured we have a Ravenclaw Roster. Work our way to a Master one if Mary and Gryffindor are okay with it. c:

"Me? Noooooo that is against the rules!" Gaia gives Beth a mischievous look.

"Oooh, I know that look. Spill! Tell us about your Forbidden Forest adventures!" What she wouldn't give for some popcorn right now!

"Alfred was in Hufflepuff. He always looked out for all of us back home, so it makes sense he'd end up there. Seaxburh was in Gryffindor: she's always haring off on some crazy adventure."

"Letters every day! That sounds amazing. Not the same as seeing him in person, but at least you aren't missing out on what's going on back home." She offered Beth an encouraging smile on hearing about the lack of letters from her sister. "Maybe she's just busy? Seaxburg was like that when she was at school. Alfred wrote home a ton, but we'd barely get a letter a month from her."

"I haven't met Lyn! It must be really nice to have family right around the corner. Did she end up in Ravenclaw too? How old is she?"

OOC: Could we add the roster to the House Bulletin post? We'd have to let ppl know that they have to join the ping group to see it, but it's a great resource for Ravenclaws to have!

OOC: I'm not sure where to add the roster. Should I place it under useful threads or should I have it in it's own place? :/

Gaia stares at Ethel while pondering whether to answer or not. "It was by accident. On our first day here I went for a walk. It was a lovely cool day and I was immersed in my thoughts. I think I was planning my list of requests from home and I didn't realized I had walked into a thick area of trees. I didn't know much about the layout so once I looked up from my parchment I was a few feet in the forest. I had stumbled on a tree root and was amazed. The forest is beautiful yet quiet. Makes you wonder if anything does live in there!"

OOC: you can add the link of the roster to the bulletin board you updated this morning. That way they can do both join the ping group and find the tower. I think that is what bapkate meant.

"Once", Gaia said with a giggle. "I was traveling with my dad, we needed to deliver some owls, and there were a few magical creatures at the place. The wizards there feed the wild animals and they were feeding one of the unicorns at the time. It was surreal and beautiful. They are gentle creatures and when you are around them it feels peaceful. I hope we get to learn more about them!" Gaia added with a grin.

Ethel kept nodding at Gaia encouragingly until her friend finally caved and started talking! "Oh but I've heard lots of stuff lives in there! Unicorns, centaurs, Acromantulas, thestrals, who knows what else!" Given the way Ethel was vibrating in her spot, it was clear she was dying to find out. "Maybe they were all just having a nap when you came through?"

"I can't wait to meet her! I haven't had a chance to meet many of the students in other houses. I always get so distracted in class that I forget to talk to people. I wonder if the professors will set us up with a chance to get to know people in other houses."

OOC: Hmmm, that is a good question. It is technically a thread! And a useful one!
