Hello! Just making this topic here until we have a SL private one (:

Let's brainstorm! :D Let's talk about our characters, the types of characters, and everything else!

I'm not sure exactly what character I am going to use.... right now I can only think of Spock, so I might end up going with a Vulcan. lol :P Have you a specific idea yet or just thinking out loud about it still, like me? :)

Haha XD It's okay! No worries c: Last year I was the bard, and my name was Arwen o: I liked that char, but I think I'll make a new one this year :D I want to be an elf, but apart from that, I'm thinking out loud like you o:

hmm bards are fun - Maybe I will be something different... I don't know yet. I've got a book character I really like that I might emulate, but shrug lol :P

I'll admit I don't even have the vaguest notion of what my character will be like for this year. I know I am bringing in a new one, but beyond that...no clue yet.

Do we know if we need specific roles like last year? Like warrior, mage, rogue ect?

I'm going to use the character I'm playing with now. Her name is Mal, but I might change that. She's from a future-esque solar system. She works on a ship that sails in space. She's loved sailing and boats ever since she was a kid. She loves adventure and is a daredevil. She's kind of serious and does get snippy sometimes but she's usually easygoing. She thinks a good time is getting drunk and singing stupidly with her friends. But she's not quite that simple. While she does work on the ship she also secretly takes on cases to take down criminals, typically they're smuggling related. But she does also use her connections with the bad guys to her advantage sometimes to get things she wants or to help other people. She has a owl/hawk hybrid companion named Wash. (After Wash Hoburn from Firefly.) My pet Starboard inspired her as a character :)

thanks...it dumped another 4 inches of snow on us yesterday and we are not expected to be above freezing for several more days, so I wanted something that was nice and warm and fresh looking for my HA as a "take me away" kind of deal :) And sigh, Wash..."I am a leaf on the wind". Still mad at Joss Whedon about that :(

OMG I KNOW! I almost named him Leaf because of that phrase. :( I was so happy that we were doing a firefly themed adventure this time around! I'm such a huge fan and watch the movie and series at least once (or more) a year and even signed up for the firefly game when it was still in Beta lol xD I named my first bunny Clover Tam because of River haha! /FANGIRLS OUT THE ROOM

right there with you! I have River Tam and Inara Serra here as pets :) I watch the series+movie at least once a year too. Got my husband to watch it shortly after we first got together and he fell in love with it too. Then we had our friend watch it (we have the DVDs) and he watched the first 2 episodes and gave it back to us. He said he just didn't "get it". My husband and I were both like "we don't think we can be friends with you anymore". We were half serious too. How can you not like Firefly?!?

Yeah, I don't know if you can trust people who don't like that show. o.o The humor alone gets me every time, it's just like my own! You have River Tam? You are so lucky! She's my favorite. And Mal. And Wash. >.< hahaha ..So that made me do some snooping and Rivertam, all one word isn't taken. I had one pet without a great name so I took it! I might not keep it forever since it doesn't go with the character but I'm still excited haha

No real ideas for a character at the moment, but I definitely want to try someone new this time around. If everyone else has ideas for what roles/characters they're interested in I'd be happy to build a char to fill in whatever gaps are left. ;)

Do you guys want to pick character classes like we did last time? I didn't see anything saying it was required or needed for WS3, but I personally think it helps us define our roles within the team and flesh out characters. ..thoughts? thank you for the HA compliment :)

Oh yeah...has everyone joined the nightowls ping group?

I think it would be fun to all fit together as characters. I was thinking about being a Mage with a wild companion or something like that - or maybe a huntsman with a falcon (I like animal companions), but the companion doesn't have to be with my ha if it doesn't match the group.

sorry it took me so long to "accept" on the requests to join this ping group, but it looks like the gang's all here now :D

Do you guys want to pick character classes like we did last time? Sure thing! I think that will help a lot. Which are all the classes?

GreenRowan said that she plans on tweaking the classes a bit, so I'm not sure what we'll end up with. Last year we had Warrior, Mage, Vagabond, Ranger, Bard and one I can't remember right now.
