I did join this snowball event but am thoroughly tired of seeing my HA covered in snowballs. I did try to get one of the Reflecting Shields Is there any way that I can prevent being bombarded by snowballs at this time? I did try to get 1 of the shields but there are none available in the Crystal Shop and apparently none for sale. Does anybody have a solution to this - would really like to be able to use some of my CWS and other Luminaire items and enjoy them.

The shield doesn't work for the event for some reason.

I too am thoroughly done with being bombarded with snowballs constantly, I don't want to opt out but I wish there were a way to at least be like "This user is taking a break to reload their snowballs" for a couple hours.

I didn't even know there was a way to opt out but if there is then I need to look into it. Can't take much more of this - talk about monotonous and ugly. I want to be able to use the CWS I have and the other items that pertain to this Season.

Having an opt-out would be such a loophole, sign up for a team, fling some snowballs and block them for the rest of the event.

the shield works. I've gotten the "this user reflected the snowball" or whatever message a bunch of times. but its nowhere near 100% effective.

and even if you have the shield on, there's so many people throwing snowballs that you wont know how effective it is. Since, iirc, you only get a message when you DO get hit. (IE there's no message letting you know you've reflected a snowball).

I am surprised the shield isn't in the crystal shhop. Though the hairdryer might show up in the MC in 2 days (?).

I thought it was in the crystal shop, but it's sold out already (understandably).

I thought it was a Millionaire Center item at one point? (Also, yeah, I forgot you don't get the message when you've deflected a snowball yourself.)

I'm not sure, but at the start of this Luminaire season my friend bought one from the crystal shop. And I remember this because I wanted to buy one but I didn't have nearly enough crystals for it lol

I just checked SubetaLodge and the Snowball Reflecting Shield is listed as a Millionaire Shop item at 2.5mil.

huh. I really could have sworn it was in the crystal shop for like 3k - 4k crystals but I would gladly pay 2.5 mil sp for it 0_0

To give users an opt-out would be kind of unfair -- it would let folks jump in just long enough to get the trophy and a prize and then leave. If there's to be an opt-out, I think it should be permanent, and it should remove you from the contest entirely. No prizes.

Actually, the number of folks joining a team and sitting there looking pretty does the same. I am not refering to anyone throwing at least a couple of snowballs, I refer to those that simply clic a button and go on their merry way.

I just want to know how long is this going to go on? I'm already tired of randomly flinging snowballs.

How long does the snowballs last on the HA? Or am I just getting pelted so much that it seems like they're staying forever? Because last night I swear I had the same snowballs for over four hours on my HA. First time I've seen one of the new snowballs this year was when it was reflected back at me. Unless for over four hours I was being hit by that one alone, yeah.

Til the end of Luminaire, so probably til New Year or Dec 25th.

Joining a team and just sitting there does have the disadvantage (or advantage, if you're like me and love snowballs) of still being pelted with snowballs, though! And you'd still have to throw x number of snowballs to win the prize. Still get the trophy though, I suppose.

I feel like this mini-event was a really cute idea, but it wasn't necessarily executed super well. If there are people who are getting tired of it already to the extent that they'd like to be done, that's no good! Really though, it's another auto-refresh your way to victory style contest... which I'd argue we have enough of.

Am I the only one that thinks auto-refreshing just takes the fun out of any event? :/

Well, I personally am over this. The number of new CWS brought out for Luminaire aren't even able to be used during this event as they won't even look decent. People paid real money to get these items submitted and approved and others paid plenty of CSC to get their hands on them - not terribly fair if this is going to last the entire Holiday Season. Just my opinion and it certainly doesn't count for anything. I see no option to leave a Team and I see no reason why somebody that has already thrown plenty of snowballs and got the achievements shouldn't get the rewards even if they do tire of the Event and could leave it. Badly planned in my opinion. And sitting at a computer throwing nowballs all day and night is pretty boring.
