I signed up first thing and I totally regret it now that I know how long this event lasts. :/

Omg, I'm so mad I didn't do this. :/
I rather dig this look tbh but I see how people don't. I'm surprised there's no limit to how much crud we can get on ourselves.
I'm pretty happy with the length of the event. It gives me a little time to get the achievements I need and gives less active users a chance to up their score. Having snowballs conceal my avatar for such a short period is not a big inconvenience. My only gripe is that the Snowtapult was not revamped.
I don't see the point in joining a snowball fight war if you don't want to be pelted and covered by snowballs though?
I'll never forget the flaming thread someone made about me in B&C back in the day after I threw a snowball at her after she posted in a "Snowball the Above User" topic.
I think staff found a nice balance with holding a cute and smaller event during an already busy time for most people.

When I saw the phrase "snowball fight" I assumed it was an event that would last hours -- maybe even a few days. That it lasts weeks without being able to take a break so we can enjoy our seasonal wearables is unfortunate. A warning or a name that more accurately reflects the time involved would have been appropriate.
The only reason it bothers me is because I won't get to enjoy any luminaire HA items. It's really pointless to buy anything when my HA looks like something from a nightmare.
But I like trophies so I guess it's worth it.

This activity would be more promising if we had an increase of REs in/on the snowthepult pages!!!
People keep saying that I knew what I signed up for - but the thing is, I didn't! I can't remember ever having a snowball thrown at me, so I wasn't aware that they showed up on your HA; and I thought it would involve a new snowball-throwing minigame like the Battle of the Bands did, anyway. Something like a Flash game where you had to throw snowballs at targets that represented the other team.
And I did not imagine it would last two weeks...
two more weeks of this seems... excessive. i dont care one way or another about being bombarded by snowballs, but this event is just way too boring to warrent letting it go for that long. i mean, just go ahead and call it "autorefresers: the event" because i don't think the setup could have invited AFers any more blatantly. it's repeating the same 2 or 3 actions over and over again, thousands of times, with a 5 second lull between the action.
not to mention it has been very obvious which team is going to win since pretty much day 1, so now it's less "participate and help out your team and maybe you can help swing those numbers" and a bit more "drag out the inevitable for another two weeks." where's the suspense in that?
this event would have been way better suited to a couple days, maybe a week in length. anything after that becomes less a fun holiday activity and more of an obligation.
Yeah, I'd 100% be okay with staff taking everything I've gotten/would get from this event. I'd happily give up the title, the achievement, any prizes, etc to just be able to be done with it before January.
I'm so bored with this event but I do't want to give up on my team ;A; But seriously, either add something else for us to do or end it. Now. I don't see myself continuing this snowball thing for two more weeks :|
Maybe Tobias and Dolly will be overwhelmed by the holiday spirit and call for a cease-fire on Luminaire morning and then we can all go inside and warm up with some hot cocoa. :)

Please. Perfect excuse, and even that 5 days is a lot. I agree with completely - it was kind of fun for a minute to see how it'd pan out, but now it's just stretching out the same thing for no reason.
Also with the format of the 'prizes' section on the page, I was expecting more tiers to be added - the sled and whatever team candy has for ~50 snowballs, then something different for 100, 500, 1000 etc. If we are going to keep going for weeks (ugh) that might spice it up a bit and give people concrete goals (plus why is that box so big for one prize)

I appreciated having all the info about what the prizes would be and how to earn them there in the original newspost; it would have been good to have the info about the length of the event right there, too. Like everyone else on this thread, I was like 'TWO ACTUAL WEEKS?! Are you serious?'
Ah, yes, that would be perfect and very Christmassy!
I don't care about having a formless mass of snow for a head, but it would be nice to have all of our cosy, Christmassy HAs back by Christmas eve.

Two weeks of this is ridiculous. I'm… Well, not having fun exactly (because what's fun about refreshing a page over and over?), but getting into the spirit of things, and I don't really care too much about having my HA covered in snowballs. Even so, I'm already ready for it to end. Even lasting until the 25th is too long, IMO, but two weeks? Please no. Please.
I agree that it is going on for way too long; it got boring for me in the first day. I only thought it'd last a couple of days at the most.
I'm also really disappointed in Subeta for not only creating an event that it's incredibly easy to use auto-refreshers in, but also telling people that it's okay to do so. What other site allows people to let their computers play for them? (I don't blame people for using them btw, since it is allowed, although those using them and then whining at others for throwing less snowballs than the average can just shut up)
Edit: In retrospect this post might have been a little harsh; I guess there wasn't much staff could do to prevent the auto-refreshing.
I would have loved some notice about how long this event would be lasting for before I signed up though- I really did think it'd be a small thing that lasted a day or two. But it's a lot less annoying now that the snowballs aren't constantly covering my HA. ^-^;
