I'm getting really sick of this event. I've sunk millions of sp into snowballs and spent way too much time bombarding random people. I hope it ends soon because I don't want to keep doing this past today let alone until Christmas or New Years.

Yeah, I kind of wish I had waited to join a team until the very end. I've thrown almost 1k snowballs, but

  1. That's not enough to make the top 10% anyway
  2. We're going to lose anyway
  3. I've thrown plenty to get my prizes so

I've taken to putting my HA in my forumtext so I can actually still see it sometimes

I don't see how people who signed up for this didn't expect to be covered with snowballs? I do wonder if the HAs are being expected to load all the snowballs hit, I wonder if that is pert of the problem with lagging and stuff

Anyway, the end date should have been listed before hand, the 30 second and 5 second limits should have been in place to begin with, and I can still barely use the site from my phone due to 504 errors.

I really wonder how much thought went into this (not counting the cute button art of Tobias and Dolly)

I just...what did you think was going to happen when you signed up for a SNOWBALL FIGHT? I mean, come on.

As far as bitching about your precious CW's, here's a hint: they're permanent items. There isn't a use it or lose it feature attached to them. You can still use them after this is all over with.

ffs.

Actually, I think a large scale snowball fight is one of the most effective ways of giving us an opt-out option for snowballs. By not joining a team, you can go about without getting snowballed (it will not let you snowball a neutral member) but also resign your ability to throw snowballs at others.

I feel your pain. :c If only everyone sent out the fairy snowball, we could just all be covered in pink and purple sparklies. :'D

I find any event that relies on refreshing boring, so this one is no different. I mean maybe if it was more personalized like find a person of the other team who hasn't been hit yet / had been cleared of their snowballs and throw to get a point...

edit: I don't find this a good opt-in option. For the last two Luminaires, I wasn't hit with snowballs nearly as much as I am now. Maybe when people sign up for the ability to get hit with snowballs, they don't want to have a snowball face 24/7? It's extreme.

Well, I personally am over this. The number of new CWS brought out for Luminaire aren&;t even able to be used during this event as they won&;t even look decent. People paid real money to get these items submitted and approved and others paid plenty of CSC to get their hands on them - not terribly fair if this is going to last the entire Holiday Season.
I fair to see the unfairness... Anyone that submitted a CW that got accepted got exactly what they paid for. Anyone that bought a CW got exactly what they paid for.

Let me get this straight... You sign up for a snowball battle, and now are whining that you got bombarded by snowballs????? OK. fine..., whatever. But if you opt out of the snowballs, you should have to forfeit all prizes associated with said snowball fight. Even the lazy ride-alongs get snowballed on the random opponent option even if they never throw a slushball, so it's only fair.

edit: ^^^ we had the same train of thought, looks like

why not let people leave the entire event if they want to? the catch would be that you would lose your accumulated score and opportunity for prizes, but some people might use it as a solution.

Yeah I'm not surprised that I'm covered in snowballs constantly, I just regret joining as soon as I did :P It's common sense that you won't be able to see your HA much, but my HA is my favorite part of the site so I feel really stupid for joining a team right away. It's all on me

lol My grump is more along the lines of, "You're expecting me to continue with this how long?" with the side of annoyance over the snowballs on my HA because it seems like the more snowballs I get hit with the site lags even more.

I'm still tossing them, can't let my team down.

I don't want to be able to opt-out of being pelted with snowballs, because I knew what I was signing up for when I joined a team. But I'm so bored of this event after I expected it to be more exciting than it actually is. I've thrown hundreds of snowballs now and I feel like that's absolutely all there's been to do for this Luminaire. And I don't expect some big plot like there was for Morostide, but I wish there was more than what we're doing.

What happened to those mini plots we'd have, like searching for Alexander's letters during Reading Drive?

In reference to the CWS - people who did submit them and got them approved did indeed get them. People who bought them did get them. What would be nice is if people could actually USE them!!!! I regret joining a Team and make no bones about it. In the long run this is all pixels but I seriously can't understand anybody who would enjoy throwing and being hit by pixel snowballs over and over again. Obviously, to each his own.

If one could opt to leave a Team it would be fine with me. Any of the prizes will be put up for sale by some players at sometime in the future anyway and so could be bought. And the Trophy - piels again, can't exactly display it in a room in your house. -

I don't mind the snowballs too much, but this event running for another two weeks or so (?) seems like a bit too long. I think this kind of event should only last about a week.

I'm still ok with it, but truth is that I'm expecting this to end before Lumineve. (What sense does it make for Tobias and Dolly to be arguing about Lumi gifts after it's over?) Even by Lumineve it's already quite a bit of time - over a week just for throwing some snowballs. If I had to guess beforehand, I'd have said 3-4 days max...

Vesnali has more activity than this and still it lasts a single week :/

[edit] My personal strategy is to always go with the same cute snowball (Owl Snowball is my favorite choice atm) so at least I'm not interfering much on people's avatars, but eh, that's me.

I understand that the point of a snowball fight is being covered with them, but I'm really tired of not seeing my avatar properly at all. I participate actively in this event and I don't have anything against it, but I just wish the snow would melt faster and there would be phases were my avatar is not covered at all.

The only thing I'd request is just to know when it's going to be over, so we have time to plan ahead on how much subeta-time we have to ration for snowballing and getting points. I really don't care if my pixel avatar person has snowballs on it for like, 2 weeks of the year. I think complaining your HA has snowballs on it during a snowball fight you specifically signed up for is a tad silly.

And also, CWs can be used year round. OP, you'll be able to see your CWs all year long. Just have some patience.

I just kind of wish that this event was shorter. 2 weeks is a long time to do nothing but buy and throw a bunch of snowballs. It'll be impossible to get into the top 10% since it's only been 3 days and some people have already thrown up to 40k+ snowballs.
