I'm not personally worried about the item. If others have some sort of issue with it I can understand it being removed.

I mean, I guess it could be a problem if any users did catch Ebola.

I personally don't see a huge problem with the item. But being sensitive to the Ebola crisis, I see why some people could see it as offensive.

I don't see why this should happen. It is not targeting any one person or even a group of people. It may be in poor taste at the moment, but we have plenty of items that are in poor taste all the time.

You do know ebola has been around for ages, right? It's nothing new. It's still very common is some parts of the world. I hardly see the need to remove it.

Also one person in the states that had ebola hardly constitutes a 'crisis'. Stop grasping at straws.

You know, I was going to make an apocalypse pet for disease and once this lows over it'd be great for it.

Ebola has been a horrible disease all along, just because it's reached America doesn't suddenly make it a more sensitive topic. Also suspending items isn't really a thing? You're proposing what, all of them are erased but then after the current breakout they start restocking again? Or they remain on the accounts of the people who own them but are locked for a while? Either way it isn't really logistically fair or possible.

...actually what constitutes a crisis are the thousands of deaths in Africa, not what has or hasn't happened in the US.

Anyway, I share 's opinion as a whole.

I don't think it's necessary, but how about doing something a bit more creative with it? Subeta's been gradually moving away from real-world stuff, and we've got fictional viruses already. Why not base it on one of those, or make something new up for it? Keep the items and images, but remove the Ebola name.

If the pet isn't named Pestilence, I'm going to be very disappointed.

We can't get rid of or change items whenever something that might be potentially sensitive comes up. That's all staff would be doing! This isn't being offensive to anyone and ebola has existed for much longer than the current spread right now. I believe there are items for other diseases as well, if we pull this might as well pull them all!

Seriously though. It's an old item. It's not even poking fun at current events or anything.

I personally don't think this item needs to be changed. As others have said, that illness has been around for literally decades. And that item has been around for a while as well. It's not mocking the deaths/effects of Ebola. It's a generic item that could have had any virus name slipped in. Ebola was probably chosen because of how iconic of a disease it is in the pathology world.

I'd consider it in bad taste if it had been made because of the current ebola outbreaks, but since it's pre-existing I don't think anything needs to be done about it.
