Let me start out by saying this: I think that the art and the items and the characters and just all the art related things for this plot were all fucking fantastic. Amazing. Couldn't be happier with them.

And that's about as much as I can say towards what I liked about this plot.

That was IT?! really?! We waited a year for the "epic continuation/rebellion plot" from last year's "teaser"... and this just feels like a poorly planned out joke. Granted, I know shit went wrong with the site. I know bad things happened. But that's no excuse for this. All I can think was "wow.... that was lackluster".

It's frustrating to me especially because of how WE KNOW YOU KNOW HOW TO DO PLOTS RIGHT, SUBETA. Masquerade Murder Mystery: Amazing. Well written, well organized, no one could wait for the next step.
Saheric Plot: Amazing. Well organized, EXCITINGLY interactive, no one could wait for the next step.

And then there was this. Disorganized, not interactive (really, we had to refresh some pages, and then basically do some quick quests), and with a story that ended leaving you going "what the fuck, that's all?"... I just don't even have words.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll catch some flack, but I don't even care. This plot had SO MUCH potential, and ended up being a giant disappointment.

Does Subeta plan on making this plot a yearly thing or something? >_>;

I guess people were getting frustrated with this plot and I know a bunch of people posted saying "hay just end it already end it end it end it" but that doesn't mean anticlimactic endings are really what we want, haha.

I really have to agree with everything in this post. This event really fell short for me. I was holding out hope until I was dumped with prizes, then I literally said 'wow..that's it? Waited a year for that?'

I... was prepared to make an entire board, but I'll post here instead. 8D;;

I'm not going to lie. Although the plot prizes were absolutely wonderful, I feel like the ending of the plot was very sudden and abrupt. :c I suppose this is good for the people who wanted to hurry up and cure, though.

I really felt like I was left hanging, though. There are so many unanswered questions I have. Since I was on Skitter's side, it was emplied that Ecks wasn't making a poison for mass release. If she wasn't making poison, what was she doing this whole time? What's up with Fatine, and the old Bake Shop? What's going to happen with the underground? Are all the new areas that opened up going to be accesable still, even after the plot and/or if people were to take cures now? Also, I couldn't help but feel led on that there was going to be a war using the battle system, with us gathering recruits and all, and I was looking forward to a fight of some sort. :c

I really hope I don't sound ungrateful. I really enjoyed the plot, and I personally didn't mind how long each plot step was taking to come out (whoo, college student here. e-e). But to me, the end of this plot was really lacking, compared to past plots. :c I can only feel like the ending was rushed, again, because of people complaining.

I know it's hard to please everyone, but this isn't to say that I'm completely ungrateful! I personally enjoyed how more interactive this plot seemed to be compared to past plots, and I really enjoyed how different features around the site were put to use, such as battling, restocking, and quests. c: Not only are the plot prizes amazing, but I loved a few of the items I got from doing different steps in the plot, as well as the achievments! This is the first time I really participated in anything pandemic related, and overall I found the plot pretty enjoyable.

The best way to be happy with someone is to be happy alone. That way, company is a matter of choice and not a necessity.

I disagree. The plot had a lot of witty dialogue and it left room for a great continuation next year. The fact Ecks basically says 'oh yeah you were a tool bye bitch take this junk and go' was priceless. There were so many new things that made this plot worth while. We had a couple of puzzles and we had battling and talking to people. Fantine turning zombie along side us...all of it. It wasn't as exciting as you wanted maybe but it was a lot of fun and even without the plot we get so much more out of the Pandemic than the Masquerade. We get new strains which are really exciting without a plot the Masquerade just gets some new items. I think the Pandemic doesn't need a plot to fall back on at all. The plot was just a plus

I actually liked the ending. I knew that this was going to be the last update, and this wasn't at all what I expected. Ecks proved herself to be cold and calculating, and managed to twist the events so there would be peace for a little while, anyways. It would have been nice to have a little interaction near the end, just clicking on text links and choosing what to say would've made a big difference, even if it didn't change the outcome.

And I do think that it was waaaay too drawn out. The amount of time it took to do the plot steps didn't justify most of the two to three day waits. And there should have been a little more battling and team vs team. I especially don't like how Fantine pretty much was just an afterthought, Skitters hasn't said a peep on what he thinks of her change (which she did for his sake!). They were so cute last year, and now he's is completely ignoring her.

nooope it was NOT implied that she was not making poison. she SAID she wasn't and it was implied that she was. Umm i don't have direct quotes but we notice her emphasis on the word psychopath, she had been reading our journal, Nacho Muerte was being threatened to agree, and various other things lead us to believe she was up to something xD

I agree with everything said.

We were so pumped up for this event last year, but this year was complete and utter disappointment. Only so much can be blamed on the downtime. The pace was entirely too slow, for daily players anyway. Someone said this on the subeta confessions tumblr, it's almost like we were penalized for being active daily players. Even when the site came back up from the downtime issues, the slow pace continued. Why?

This ending really feels like staff just noticed everyone was very unhappy with the pace of things and just went "You know what? Fuck it. Let's end this right now and make them wait another year for an ending that makes any logical sense."

I'm curious if it is really over and the cure was just released to please those of us who are unhappy about being stuck as zombies for a month. Then once we cure, more plot will happen and we'll be left out.

This storyline has been fail two years in a row. I honestly don't have high hopes for next year if it continues.

to me, that's what they tried to do last year... and I just am not going to be excited enough for it next year to give a damn. Subeta tends to repeat their mistakes instead of learn from them.

I agree that it was drawn out because of all the downtime and the DDoS.... but I just think that this was disappointing.

Seriously, I keep convincing myself this end is a bug. The "last" (since calling that is like calling "I went and ate a" a complete sentence) step hasn't even been out that long!

The solution to "this is dragging a fair bit" isn't "aww, f**k it"

i'm honestly rather glad it's over. it really came across as though it was being written as they were going along. i have a feeling that wasn't actually the case, which somehow makes things even worse.

no they left room for something more but they aren't like 'OH MY GOD U GUIS NEXT YR WILL BE AHMAZING YEAH' I liked this plot MORE than the masquerade one and the Saheric plot....like 10x more. The pandemic plots are my favorite. This was a mistake to some people but other people really enjoy it. So it's not much of a mistake then now is it?

The art was nice. The new Skitters is still horrifying. The prizes were amazing.

The plot was...

I just feel let down. We're led on to feel like it's this big, HUGE thing the entire while, and then at the end you basically get a 'lolnope, kthnx BAI'

It's hard NOT to feel let down.

The plot itself --and I don't mean the way we "played along"--ALL hinted at something much bigger. I was also frustrated when 90% of the plot this year consisted of...questing, and buying things at ridiculously inflated prices. Things here and there like playing games were a nice break, but at the end it was ALL just questing. :/

[edit] I figured out what it was.

It was the fact that the ending was a HORRIFICALLY OBVIOUS Deus Ex Machina ending. Except not really, because it was too small. Well, it WAS, but it was more like a Deus Ex Machina ending if the gods were too lazy/busy, and instead hired out their demi-god red-headed stepson to fix things for them.

I forgot about sawbones even! That's another thing to add to be disappointed over.

I do love all the prizes and the art in general has been fantastic. I even enjoyed parts of the dialogue (Still lol'ing over Windigosis). The pace and planning and general management of the event are what killed it for me :(

I disagree. They leave room for something more by leaving them openeded in all the plots. The saheric could go farther because Blake is an explorer. The Masquerade could go farther because omg there are so many characters to follow.

This... the only thing that can happen is some sort of rebellion/riots/authority issue. Blah. By your last sentence, if it's not a mistake for you, and it is a mistake for me, then it's a mistake. :/ I just think they did poorly. Not that parts weren't okay, or anything. But that it was executed poorly and was not well planned to be interestingly interactive (because proving I know what f5 is is NOT interesting to me).

I'm just going to put this here.

-Someone is trying to undo the balance between the Un-living and the Living. Someone. -Who was introduced this year and not talked about much? ELSIE. -Ecks wasn't talked about much last year. Elsie wasn't this year. Coincidence?

See, I disagree, I think the Saharic was 100x more entertaining and fun. I didn't mind this one, it certainly wasn't on an epic scale like I was hoping, it was more of a filler plot then anything. Again.

Last year, the plot was introduced. This year, a chess piece was moved. Granted, it took FOREVER to move that chess piece, even without the downtime.

But I think that's why people were disappointed. They were expecting the whole game to get played out. Not for it to just begin.

I was holding out hope that the plot would turn around and make the agonizingly slow pace worth it. I'm disappointed.

If the intention is to draw this storyline out into several years then there needs to be MORE happening each year because pretty much everything we know about this storyline could have been told in just a few days (regular real life earth days). I really feel like absolutely nothing happened this year.

I'm curious about Fantine and what is happening with her disease, but... not enough to care about it for another year. yawn

ETA: Also, if the intent is to make this into a sequel type thing then it has to be done properly and each part has to be amazing, not just a bridge to the next year. No one would have ever watched the eighth Harry Potter movie if the first seven had been lackluster.
