In a completely unrelated note, an important weapons shipment mysteriously "went missing" this afternoon. We managed to salvage a few Fanciful Boxes that were overlooked in the theft, and will be holding those for future battle event prizes. Unfortunately, everything else appears to be long gone.
I don't mean to ruffle feathers as a newbie, nor do I mean any offense, but based on the comments section here and how the battle forums look it....seems like you're doing a bad job then. What the user base is requesting seems to be being ignored, and while I know the users aren't always right and inevitably you will make some people angry I just.....don't understand the choices being made that make battling as a whole so hard to get into. It's very gatekeep-y and difficult and really does seem like "should have been here 10 years ago" is the way it operates and it chases a lot of people off because of it.
With these boxes, is there a way to convert CSC into SP faster haha.
I'm sorry, you explicitly asked for wearable art for an item a year ago that would explicitly be given to maybe 5 people based on rng and never used in the wardrobe? while subeta has said repeatedly they're extremely low on resources?

Battling is the one area of the site I love to hate. Not the community mind you-- the community itself is great! But the lack of accessibility to the community boils my blood. I genuinely don't understand the reasoning behind locking so much access away just so a few handfuls of people can 'keep their investments'. Why is this the one community where staff jumps over backwards for a small set of people while keeping the rest of a possible new community from joining? And before someone belittles me by saying 'Not everything should be handed to you!' I'm literally not asking for that, and those people aren't the only people on the site who have worked really hard on their pets. I'd like to be able to earn my items the same way they did. Thanks.
Honestly I couldn't tell you exactly because I would have to try to search back through old forum posts or news comment sections, and maybe I am mistaken. But I seem to recall it being mentioned that a Gelatin War wasn't going to happen this year because y'all were working on other battle things which I guess was this.
Also on another note, I really do wish there could be some kind of knock-off or wearable only version of some of the weapons, because again, a lot of these actually look pretty cool but almost nobody will wear them because they're so expensive and unobtainable for many people.
We have "so much power" because, as the Battle Admins, this is our entire job. We stat all challengers and weapons, and we're responsible for maintaining the battle economy and making sure weapons don't succumb to power creep. Other admins may not battle, or may not have a good idea of how releasing certain things can affect the value of others. We work with the other admins when determining whether to re-release things and how many to release. That said, if anyone made a comment about how we'd kill them, they were joking. The other admins aren't afraid of us. :P

Most of the godlies in that 9bil box are honestly not even worthwhile for using imo anyways. There are a lot better weapons to use in the same tier as them and are more affordable and achievable.
The Scythe and the Purifying Staff were indeed supposed to be released years ago via another method, but that never materialized so we stuffed them into the box.

Jesus. I guess it's finally time that the other two weapons were released... They were added to the wardrobe, WITH BATTLE STATS, all the way back in Dec 2018, judging from their ID.
That gorgeous Spork was added to the wardrobe, AGAIN, WITH STATS, in Nov 2020.
So excuse me for not believing that these RNG sP sinks are ever going to see the light of day again. We've been asking for these weapons to be re-released for YEARS!

Who told you there won't be a gelatin war this year? We do prefer for it to be a surprise, but we are actually planning one for, if not this year, then very early next year. And yes, that would be an event where we'd absolutely reward the fanciful box.

You're probably referring to the godlies. With absolute top weapons like that, we have to be very careful that we don't undervalue them and ruin people's investments. I suspect we'll actually annoy some people by pricing them at "only" 9 bil (they've been selling for a lot more in the past few years), but we did a lot of research and determined that current prices were inflated and 9 bil has consistently been the godlies' true value. As for the Fanciful Box, it will be available as a battle event prize, so people who don't want to buy it can earn it later, no SP needed. Like my co-admin Purge said over in the Battle Chat, we'd never cut off the supply of demi-godlies like that.
9 billion is a pretty good price for a godly... The originals are all relics of the past, and alternatives exist (many earned from battling). There is no reason to punish people who has earn them in the past or purchase them with savings by flooding the market with them. Instead, I look forward to new weapon and prizes for events.
Amber accidentally re-released acorn bombs and the Battle Admins got really mad. The rest part of that is the acorn bomb is also a food, so if you're interested in having a gourmet pet, you're shit out of luck. If you're a new player, too bad, you should have joined ten years ago if you were going to battle.

I also want to point out that you're basically asking us to gamble 9bil sp on a loot box, without any guarantee of anything useful coming out of it, because you're not even giving us the courtesy of letting us know what can come out. Or if we can choose what item comes out.

We've already been told that there won't be a Gelatin War this year, and the site as a whole has been pretty quiet in terms of events and plots (outside of the annual things) for several years. So I don't really have much hope of this happening any time soon.

I'm new here but from day 1 when I was looking at battling I could tell it was gatekeepy and bs and the only reason I'm training my pets at all is for their jobs. I see that people have been begging for some of these to be rereleased for literally years, that they want battle challenges and things like that not.....stupidly expensive random chance boxes. Especially for stuff that's wearable and/or has an achievement attached. And I remember seeing comments about how the battle mods would kill if certain items were rereleased which just.....seems really off to me? Like why do they have that kind of power? I'm sorry but this all seems really strange and very poorly handled in terms of rereleasing stuff that people have been begging for so like, I don't get it.

The cost isn't actually the worst part, it's the arbitrary 125 limit for an item that includes things that used to be more achievable through hard work. Now you get a box eventually under unknown conditions that MIGHT have what you want. Maybe.

Well, my internet is so slow now, I thought my purchase didn't work, it was out of stock, but then I saw my sp had gone down by a lot, so it worked [Spoiler]from my small box I recieved: the stats are different from what subetalodge has...[/spoiler] well I am glad to be able to get weapons I would probably never get otherwise

I'm just kind of a casual battler, I'm pretty much satisfied with the weapons I've earned from past events and stuff and I can beat most opponents that I want to. I've never really felt a reason personally to try to collect every single expensive weapon on the site, so I guess this doesn't really matter that much to me.
I do kind of feel for the people who would want the weapons as wearables though, a lot of the expensive weapons look really cool worn on the HAs. Unfortunately you hardly ever see anyone wear them because they are either sitting on dead accounts on in people's armories.
