In a completely unrelated note, an important weapons shipment mysteriously "went missing" this afternoon. We managed to salvage a few Fanciful Boxes that were overlooked in the theft, and will be holding those for future battle event prizes. Unfortunately, everything else appears to be long gone.

Glad to know that it was now made it even more clear that it was a good idea to quit battling. I wish I quit before spending CSC on challengers I will never beat but it is just how it is.

Also, I've been very unhappy with a number of my interactions with Subeta staff lately and with other changes to the site. It's heartbreaking. I loved this site for so long, but now I'm starting to wonder if there's a better petsite around (and I was originally a refugee from Neopets). This whole thing is elitist, and that's how I would describe the other changes I've seen lately too.
Subeta used to be really good about listening to users and at least compromising, but now it feels like there's a hard line drawn in the sand, telling users to suck it up or leave. I'm getting less and less excited to be here.

Just wanted to say I think this is a cool idea, I love these being battle prizes but also obtainable by non-battlers who are willing to save up a lot.
Aren't the same people who already know the system in and out going to be able to get the top damage anyway, though? I get the intention, but this does not feel like it solves the problem. You took things people COULD get and put them in this box along with things they potentially don't want, and now we all (oh, sorry, people who are already in the higher tiers) get to hope that we can out-damage the old hands and then get a good result from the RNG (not all icons are equally useful, after all). It all feels very disconnected and abstract and unmoored, and less approachable than 'hit challenger hard enough often enough and enjoy the thing you specifically earned'. You are saying there will be plenty of boxes, which is better than what I was thinking, but it's still not an inspiring system. It is hard to make everyone happy, as you point out with how people react to even a low-level challenger, but this could have used more workshopping.
Do you still plan to have different rewards for the lower tiers who don't get boxes either, like what happened for the Bad Omen plot?

It was 25 for the first stock. They will release 25 at a time several times throughout the day, to cover all time zones, until 125 total have sold. Then they will reappear as event prizes, including in the upcoming Gelatin War. We won't be stingy with them (but we won't tank the value of their contents, either).
Well I guess I have 8.5 billion to save up for. And wait for the small box. Lol.

It'll be something like, the top X damage dealers from tiers Y and up will get one of the smaller boxes as a prize. The numbers will vary, depending on the event and level of participation. There will be plenty going out.
We all know the battling system is incredibly archaic. It needs a complete overhaul, which won't ever happen. Training a pet is incredibly slow. There's a ridiculous amount of weapons to choose from. There are so many things pushing against newbie battlers. It's just the system though. There's only so much we can do. As Cranberry said previously, we try to have one mandatory challenger to fight in plots, to get users interested. And all we ever get from it is pushback. So, it's hard.
Top prizes (before and during our time) have always been given out for being top damage dealers against bosses. Or racking up the most points in a war. It requires a top pet, great weapons AND time. That's a lot. And it is ridiculous. It's always the same people getting the top prizes. That's why we started doing the "top x per tier" thing. It's not great, but it's better than it was.

I'm not sure what you want to hear. Your question's premise is flawed. Asking for art was not a problem. If/when asking for art is a problem, the art request gets denied. We don't get to unilaterally make decisions that affect other departments or employees.

From Battle Chat: Some of the godlies got some minor improvements, too. The curses, especially, were lackluster. and We just upped the icons on the godlies from 34-42 to 40-46 to make them a little more valuable without being OP. People can still do just fine battling with the cheaper godlies and other weapons, but the old ones deserve a little boost, especially now that more are entering the economy and they'll be easier to get hold of.
I am the 1% so without spending any additional sp or turning real money into CSC and then into sp, I just improved my lot. I feel like I should be happy and yet if anything I feel bad and undeserving. Not really what I want to get out of playing this site.
I don't think the calculations for that are even working right, so it might be unattainable right now even if you did get the sP.

To...average out loot according to weird calculations or however you plan on doing it, with RNG involved, on a scope and timespan of multiple users and years at a time, rather than rereleasing it directly from wins from challengers or plot prizes or just actually doing it as a repeating sP sink? I don't see how that helps with the rest of my comment towards Cranberry about helping new people get into battling, either. Unless you mean this is literally going to be that ten percent per tier awarded plan, which would be interesting but potentially gamed (which was why I was under the impression it had been scrapped) along with the RNG element of these boxes making it more frustrating than just being able to choose an item.

We actually just finished statting those Paramnesia guys recently! They are imminent. There's a lot of battling coming up during the fall/winter season, too. I think we have some brand new (non-cash-shop) challengers coming for fall (as long as the artist has time to do loot), in addition to the usual stuff. Gelatin war has been planned for a while, too. If we can't fit it in late this year, it'll be early next.

Also while I'm here being blunt - shit like this is why your user base is leaving and dropping their stuff in the donation center every few months by the by. Staff and the lack of engagement and communication is making us leave. Not being heard is a /problem/ a big one. you've got the entire Battler community telling you they don't like this and you're like "lol too bad but if you have suggestions" Only you don't listen to suggestions.
An is going for 76 million points right now. ($10 value) The loot box (9 billion) divided by 1000 CSC (76 million) = 118. So that loot box is worth $1,180 unless my math is wrong here.
What was the question? Did we ask for art for a new godly to include in the godly box we had already planned? Yeah, we did. Were we somehow harming the site by asking for that art? No, we weren't. If we asked for something that couldn't be done due to lack of resources, it would be denied (and yes, this sometimes happens!). Item/wearable art is pretty quick to do. It's mostly programming that holds up or fully blocks our big ideas, as it takes longer and there aren't as many people working on it.
OH. What about those unreleased Paramnesia opponents that we never got? When are we getting those? At least throw us something.
Also If anybody else makes a fork cw that happens to be shitting glitter with an eye sparkle on lets say the other eye? Let me know I would be on board because 500 csc is always better than 9 bil. =p
I've been here for ages and started actually battling a couple years ago but people are right. 9Bil for a random weapon you may not want or be tiered up for is stupid. The prizes for battling are hit or miss lately. Plus, aren't there old challengers you guys haven't brought back in years? The shitty thing is y'all can do better you just don't want to.
I just want incentive to battle more regularly. Hooray Keelhauliday and Morostide are coming up, that's literally all I can look forward to because I know we're guaranteed something for battling then, besides the monthly challengers and a gelatin war every other year or so.

Consistency would be nice. Something people could look forward to and work towards, like, say, broken record the Panzer Hydra Gauntlet not being in these boxes. Anybody who was looking forward to being able to get it over time through hard work is now SOL. And it's not even like 'being good at sP' gets more chances, it's 125 and then you take your chances in competition under unknown criteria at random times.
I actually really liked how there was an attempt, years ago, to get Cores out to people who placed top ten percent in a tier even in the lower ones. There were definitely people happy and exciting with battling. I know why it got scrapped, potentially too easy to game, but it was a step in the right direction. Now, though, you've got even old hands like ColdDragon saying that this is not the way for anyone, not working for them and not working for newer folx. It's the worst of both worlds.

Catering to the oldie/1% users is why subeta is part of the problem to being with. a site like this is niche already but if the bits that actually make people want to stick around are near impossible to actually be a part of why would the member base grow? why would battling grow if its confusing and gatekeepy? continuing to cater to those groups when the rest of the site is quite literally pleading with you to make things more accessible is just going to drive people away.

I am a very old user and 1. I hate battling and don't find it fun at all. 2. I only like weapons if they are nice wearables. 3. No wearable is worth 9 billion to me which = how much in real money if csc wan converted. Too much thats how much.
If anything has made me not want to even attempt to get into battling its now this. Seeing a group of adults fight about the possibility of an item on a pet site being 9 billion sp. Im sorry but this is probably the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen and Ive seen a lot in 15 years. However its also one of the most entertaining things I have seen in a while, and lets be honest subeta has been wicked boring lately. So thanks for this.
