Change log from Keith say's they're going to extend Masquerade again so that we can use the "mystery dance" feature they're sorting out, so we'll see how this goes i guess?

Yeah, I saw Keith's post about what they're trying to do for Masq.

But it's still pretty annoying that this thread has been up for 3 days, and it took until there were about 6 hours left in the final day of the event for a staff member to finally address the concerns posted here.

Like I'm glad they're working on it, but why did it take this long to actually say something? The event is nearly over, and people who are sleeping right now because of time zone differences won't even get to participate in whatever they implement between now and midnight Subeta time.

It's better than nothing, but it's still a pretty half-hearted attempt...

Here's the Server change log. The staff have been working hard to try and fix this.

Here's a comment about what they want to do for the end of Masq: "SOON We're working on a feature to allow quick, random, dances with users who've been participating in the masquerade. We'll have increased and special prizes, and hopefully get that out in time for everyone to make up for the lost time. I want to really apologize for all of this, we did not want to do it during an event (or a global event) but the cards fell this way and we were forced to. "

This is probably extremely complicated to fix, I think they're working as fast as they can and I'm just going to wait it out. I hope everyone having a good Easter despite problems with subeta, and the real world.

I'm extremely disappointed that there hasn't been a single staff comment on this news post, or a single new update. None of our concerns have been addressed, and the site is still basically unusable after a full week. :(

That's a good idea, cause part of me wants the event to end already, but I'm still disappointed in them having the downtime and resulting errors during this, and not enforcing the shorter dance times yesterday or today like they said they would.

got your loyalty box? I hit my 15th anniversary earlier this week and it didn't populate for me. Got the achievement, no box. Submitted a ticket, got a very gracious reply basically saying that it's something staff is aware of and is among the many issues with the site atm. So... that's interesting.

I can quite understand what's going on with everything and I'm not so hopelessly dedicated to subeta that I don't have other/better things to do, and especially considering the pandemic... I work in healthcare (luckily what I do has been moved to fully work from home, so I'm safe, but also quarantined totally alone at the moment, and it sucks) so I have respect for the unseen consequences it's having for the staff and I'd never presume to give them a hard time now of all times. I just kinda thought it was ironic that I hit the milestone of being on this site for more than half my life (turned 29 a month ago) and this is... probably the worst I've ever seen Subeta break. And I've seen it break a looooooooottttttttttttt. I hope we can bounce back soon. Like, as in the site, and also in, y'know... the world? Man.

Happy Easter y'all. No doubt this situation does suck, but remember it's a holiday on top of the stressful situation that is covid. People are literally dying out there, we don't know if staff is affected. I would literally not care about my job or subeta if my loved ones were afflicted and potentially dying. Mistakes were certainly made re: masq but let's have some grace, these are unprecedented times <3

The site's been moderately okay for me today, I've manage to do some questing with some hiccups in between. Dance timers haven't been lowered nor has trinket pay out increased though, so if masq were to just end tonight with nothing done, it'd suck....

But I don't think extending masq is the answer here; it'll only serve to extend the agony and either push Vesnali back or leave too little rest time in between. I'd rather everyone gets a longer break to recover than keep this going... So I propose we instead just get a (generous) amount of trinkets given to us all and we try to forget this ever happened (while hopefully still learning from it (staff....)). It'd be a disappointment for the people going for achievements or running contests, but at least we can kind of move on.... Obviously the masq forum would have to be left up at least until forums are fixed so that contests can be ended properly.

I dunno. I think it'd be good middle ground solution. But that's just me....

The Bathhouse is trickling, the Wardrobe is malfunctioning, the dance floor is on fire, and quests and games are impossible. I haven't even tried to dance after I had to endure lag beyond anything I've seen in the Wardrobe. I was lucky enough to even get an outfit on, but it seems every year the way to engage in dances for the Masquerade changes. And it sounds like this year the trial and tribulation to even get trinkets involves tumultuous 502s. Extensions mean absolutely nothing if the speed to get by remain the same or have in fact slowed down even more significantly. I'd totally opt for just rescheduling the Masquerade entirely--and a clearly defined method to dance, you know, for people that are frequent forum fliers?

Hopefully this will get posted and I won't get any errors but I wanted to thank anon for the bag of trinkets. The reason I stay on this site is the amazing user base and overall sympathetic staff. I really hope you'll delay the end of the event again to allow everyone a chance to participate.

Yes of course im a little annoyed with the downtime, but my world is not ending and im happy to wait till you guys who are probably very very stressed can get it up and running again :)

Oh look still getting 5 Minute waits. Y'all should have saved the maintenance for later or pushed the event back. I've only been able to dance with one person when the dance requests would go - which i know a lot of them didn't because I sent out at least 3- and only got 17 accepted but no decline notices.

I have nothing new to say that hasn't been said, but I am going to give myself a voice.

I haven't even TRIED to participate in Masq dancing for a week, because it made no sense. I couldn't load any other forums, so ???? why try? I haven't stuck around for hours at a time to find out whether or not it might be better at a different time than when I usually play, which is during the early morning hours. I get extremely frustrated by lag and 502s etc. That defeats the purpose of playing here.

I play to RELAX, not to be frustrated, therefore I haven't played much at all for an entire week.

I haven't been able to collect my pets income for a week. That amounts to more than 250K per DAY which is over a million sP every 4 days. I have a big investment in having all 16 of my pets in top positions at a variety of jobs (SAI, The Tribune, the Resort, to name a few) This upsets me more than anything. I really want to collect that income, and it was time for Solstice Witch to be promoted to a director at SAI, at which time I could say that two of my pets hold that position. It takes hard work to get pets prepared for top jobs, esp at SAI and Subeta Tribune.

I really and truly needed a break from the stress of Covid19 this past week. I'm not getting that break from Subeta, and that's very sad and anxiety producing. I hope things get back to so called normal here soon.

In the mean time, Ozark rolled out their new season and I took the time to re-watch season 2 first, so I'm just getting started on season 3. I am VERY grateful for Netflix and Hulu these days. Yeah, that's all I got. I'm stressing from a variety of health conditions, both physical and mental/emotional, and I KNOW that many many ppl who play here fit into the description of folks who have chronic health challenges and life challenges, so we truly NEED to have things work right in order to feel a sense of "safety" and routine. OK, now I'm finished.

I'm sure nobody cares about my particular opinion but I want to vent. I won't speak for anyone else, but I personally am pissed because 1) this site is almost the last of its kind that I still consider worth playing and I usually spend hours on here every day, 2) I have spent a great deal of money here over the years, and most importantly 3) this is not Subeta's standard. Things have been better than this. Staff have been better than this. The current lack of communication and general attitude is worse than I have seen in 13 years, even if the mechanical errors are nothing new.

We've seen server moves royally fuck up and break everything before, and god knows we've seen yet another new wardrobe royally fuck up and break everything before as well, but it was handled much better.

Not telling us that the 'maintenance' was actually going to be a full server move was really weird and I've not seen any explanation for why the lie. If we'd been told the truth we'd have known to expect a lot more chaos. Everyone was expecting some downtime and then back to normal, because that's what maintenance means. And it took several days of everything being broken before anyone admitted what really happened.

It took several more days of increasing anger for Keith to grudgingly provide a changelog that in the past he would have put up from the start without prompting (and his list of issues within it is nowhere near complete; is he working on all the other things that have been reported as well? Who knows!).

Extending Masquerade when nothing is working was a sick joke. It should have been halted, to be resumed later when things were functional again. The decreased dance times and increased payouts we were promised this weekend never happened anyway.

Nothing is resetting and it's taking most of the day for someone to get to it, every day. So if you manage to find a rare window where things sort of load you still can't do anything.

Most of the usual staff haven't been seen for weeks. Rah and Destiny are the only other ones who've posted anywhere about anything and all they can offer is a vague promise that 'things' are being worked on. I believe Rah when she says a lot of staff are caught up in the real world storms going on, and I am very sorry for that, but this is the first we've heard of it after weeks (since the wardrobe fiasco) of half the userbase speculating that maybe nobody gives a shit any more. Telling us that earlier (obviously without going into personal details about specific people, because that's definitely not our business) would have prevented a lot of the current bad feeling.

And unless you're willing to spend time digging through forums that won't load half the time you won't even have this much information. Because they've all developed a complete phobia of the news page. Yes, we know there's the admin-posts list, but when it's taking 5-10 minutes to load every single page, making us go somewhere else to find information is stupid and is actively putting even more strain on an already crippled site.

So yeah. There are plenty of reasons for the current mood onsite that don't involve the offline crisis. And if you do want to factor that into account that just means it's more important than usual for staff to actually be honest and visible, because the site mood as a whole is much uglier than I've ever seen it. We know you're all busy and doing your best, but it would take literally five minutes out of one person's morning every morning to throw out a very brief news post - here's what we were working on yesterday, we're short staffed due to current world events and the lag is affecting us too, we promise we're reading the comments even if we don't have time to address everything - and that would do so much to calm everyone down. Do the manual resets at the same time and get even more goodwill. We're really not asking for the moon here (well, most of us). Disable comments on those posts, we've got plenty of places to rant already, but just. post. something.

Also I happened to view my dashboard this morning and got a fucking loyalty box for my 13th year of playing here. Nearly choked on the irony. The description: "Thank you for sticking with us through the ups and the downs, through lag and server changes, through rollbacks and drama! Without you, there would be no Subeta!"

...yeah. Okay.

This weekend we're decreasing the wait time between dances...tongue-in-cheek and fingers crossed right? That is soooo beginning to sound like the guy that promises to sell you some fabulous beachfront property...but you can only view it at low tide.
