Just noticed a moved feather that reveales some chin/background. (+some added lil hairstrand located below the ear?) and actually laughted how much that pleases the eye. XD That's nice, no more staring at her pretty belt since the face felt kinda scary. (imho DX) Or maybe... not sure. Since that belt REALY is nice'n detailed. Not sure what else changed (something did) but now i actually start to like the revamp. ^^;
I took it upon myself to do something similar to Deyra's verison, but I kept the integrity of the facial features and body. I simply slimmed down the jawline and neck (no more swollen face) and added upper eyelashes. :3
Condsiering that it's been Saherimos month, I expected a Shinwa revamp to be very soon. However, I was expecting just a little upgraded art, something like the September scratchcard. I feel that there is something just off about the face...to me it kinda falls somewhere into the uncanny valley. Meaning, I find her face a little creepy. Sorry D:
I've gone through most of the comments and oh my God, some of you people were just rude for no reason what so ever. I get the whole "You have the right to your opinion." But I think some people were being snotty and rude just to be rude, which isn't okay if you ask me. There's always a polite way to voice your opinions.
Aside from that, I think most people are calling her "fat" because, after taking a few glances at the dawning, her shoulder, face, and neck just don't look right. She do look pudgy in some places and in Shinwa's case, it doesn't work for her. There's nothing wrong with being plump (I like using plump more than fat because plump just sounds better), some characters on Subeta look good plump and others don't.
I really think some changes to her body should be made, only because it makes her look odd in some way. What was a HUGE improvement :)!! I'm not trying to hurt the artist who did Shinwa feelings, because hey, I wish to God I had artist talents. But, she just needs a little improvement and I think she'd look better c:. There's nothing wrong with improvements; practice makes perfect.

While this is an upgrade from her original, I must admit that is isn't my most favorite revamp. There's just something about her face that doesn't click...maybe it's the eyes? I am not really sure, all I know is there's something weird about her that I don't like. However, I do adore her hair and feathers :)
I don't care if some of the characters aren't traditionally beautiful. She's still attractive, maybe just not to everyone's "standards". We've been conditioned to find certain traits more desirable and more attractive than others by the media- but beauty will never fit any 1 single standard! Her nose is just fine. I do agree about the neck being too thick, and her cheeks not really matching up correctly, and some of the tweaks on Dreya's version really improve! But I still think she's perfectly adorable anyway! AND, why shouldn't a goddess look young and childlike? Don't all the vampires from all these boring whiny dramas that everyone loves look young? Immortality will keep ya that way. To whoever drew this, thanks for the revamp! It's not what I expected, but that's not always bad. She has a hell of a lot more character now.
I don't mind the revamp she looks a bit more lifelike. I'm also glad there is less pink on her skin.

I like the hair the outfit and tattoos...but honestly she doesn't look like a godness rather a farmer girl...I think s version is more sophisticated she's rather like a lady a godness..
Well she was certainly due for a revamp, and I do love the dedication staff members have towards improving the site in terms of both functionality and art.
However... she looks a little...off...to me. Her face seems to be quite chubby for her body (or am I not allowed to say anything regarding weight now?). If we're going to make her overweight y'all should just go for it. Make the decision to make her a non-conventional beauty or keep her as a more conventional idea.
That being said I do think the markings look AMAZING and making them more realistic was a great idea. Her clothes and jewelry are gorgeous as well. Her body proportions just seem...off. Basically like the body and face weren't designed together, but were mashed together at the end by two people with different visions of the project's direction.
I also love how on a almost 500 post news comment there are 3 staff replies none of which really addressing the concerns zzz
No offense, but...dear lord that's one hell of a change. Agreeing with others and saying that Deyra's edit feels more like the Shinwa many users are used to, while keeping the new look intact.
The SJW side of me says nothing is [necessarily] wrong with this revamp but gawd, the rest of me just can't help but be attracted to 's version more.

I am so glad she got a revamp. She needed it bady. But there is something off with her face. It looks chubby in a way? Not like that is a bard thng, but it doesnt match the body. I think partially its how the cheeks push her eyes closed, but lso just the shape of the chin, if her hair was back it would look wrong.
Still, so soooo much better. I just hope her face is sorted out, it looks like cynthias. Way too big for the body, its off putting.

I am a huge fan of the art here! Though something does seem a bit off in the face/neck area.
I think if we could actually see where her neck started or ended that would help. Moving the bang on our right over a smidge or curving the feather below the jawline would do that. Either solution would also help to see the face tattoos more clearly so they look less like freckles/rosacea/scarring at first glance. The only other thing that 'bothers' me is that her nose is so different from her previous character profile (and Amy's). I know that was probably more an art style choice than a character choice and I've loved the more realistic faces coming in, but I think the smaller nose fit the character in this case. She's childlike, so the lil nose made sense.
I absolutely love the clothing and hair update, the jewelry throughout the look, and the detail in her tattoos is a pretty cool thought. <3 I actually really liked the pink stripes, it reminded me of a power surge of some sort, or like a pink version of aurora borealis and she's so powerful it is imprinted on her. Having the runes on there is still, possibly more, awesome, though I wish they stood out more. They seem weaker somehow. Maybe putting a simple border line around them as though sealing/binding the text to her or just darkening the pink used.
Awesome update overall! It's wonderful watching the NPCs turn into full on characters in look and story. <3
I like what you did! It's nice that on your version her hips are actually wider than her head - that's probably one of the major things which bugged me. I also like the inclusion of makeup - makes her eyes "pop" a bit more. She looks more goddess-like, I reckon. I mean, the artwork is really nice, even without your tweaks, don't get me wrong. I do enjoy her outfit, it's just that her features do not really look...her. So you've improved on that considerably.
I have to say I love what Deyra did. It's a vast improvement and I'd love to see the changes incorporated into the revamp.

If the arms got slimmed down (which I don't think did, aside from the 'joint' but anyway), it wasn't intentional, warping did it =p lol but really Added lashes because... makeup is cool, I mean, she's vain and all, right? Her nose is still round, only not as harsh Oh and about lightening her skin (if it was directed at me) I just adjusted the shadow on her cheek I'm not saying in any way she should be drawn like that, I just tried to adjust some anatomy parts which some people pointed and which I noticed, such as the small torso/hips.
Idk... half the people here saying shes ugly and half she's pretty... same with my version of her. But really... what's right?

I like that you made the face not look so swollen, but I'm kind of sad that you changed all of her facial features and basically made her "pretty" by western standards (small nose, defined makeup'ed eyes, skinny arms, etc)
I would've just been happy with the darkening of the tattoos and the slimmer face (it doesn't seem to line up with her ear, so I think that's what makes it look puffy)
I think she is fantastic now! She has substance. She isn't just another typical, over attractive, thing but big breasted goddess. Ya'll harped about Maleria's nose when she first changed. The point is, it isn't your body or your character and you are hurting this goddesses feelings. Meanies.

I think the new revamp is beautiful! Most women are not Barbies and that is fine! I think different colors and sizes of people are great! We are all different and that is Ok! In the real world and work force there all different people from all over the world and we need to get along!

I meant no disrespect toward anyone who has rosacea. But Shinwa is supposed to be "the most beautiful of all the gods in Subeta" and she's not anymore. Her face doesn't look right, her arms don't look right, and they could have done a much better job on the tattoos by keeping them as they traditionally were but enhancing the,. I really like what did with her, it looks much better and more proportionate.
: That's definitely an improvement from the official revamp face-wise. But overall, this revamp makes Shinwa look super creepy and gross and I really don't know what to suggest to make it better. :(
Please revamp her wearable clothes, she's wonderful. Im glad shes not some scarecrow crone, so its ok to be every colour, every shape even a zombie on here, but woe betide you if you're not a scarecrow lol.

The art is lovely, however I feel like such a dramatic change in her body and facial shape makes her appear more like a new character than a revamp.
...how the actual heck could this be considered fat? Just because she doesn't look anorexic doesn't mean she's automatically fat, or even chubby. She's wearing loose clothing that's only tight around her waist, is that where people are getting this from?
I do agree that something about the proportions in her head look off, but personally I'm fine with it since she's not supposed to be from Subeta anyways.

It's nice though I think the portions look really strange and need some improvement. Her neck looks a bit too thick for subeta's general style and her head looks too big for her body. Her body (thorso and arms) are proportioned just fine but the rest of her is really awkward. A lot of the issues with the neck might be because of the placement of the feather, which probably could have been fixed my having her holding the feather to her chest. I really like her new clothing and her hair, though!

Nice job! I think even if you hadn't messed with the face and nose (which are improvements), simply that added line for the neck makes a vast improvement.
I was reading through what people were complaining about so I played with it a little.. (I'm bored today) I think she looks like Hayden Panettiere this way XD but I still dont understand how her arms are fat.. :/

If Shinwa is fat then I hate to think what I am :P She's curvy, sure, but not really fat. And I don't think it would be bad if she was, representation of all body types is cool! I do think something is a little off about her art, but overall I like how much more personality she has. She looks like the type that would forget her bracelet every day. XD
Oh, I finally figured out what's wrong with her head! Her jawline and hairline don't match up, so it looks like a big chunk of her skull is missing, or else just deformed. Line those up and put the ear in the right place, and lower the eyes a teensy bit and her head will look all better!
I'm just going to flat out say that I don't like this design because its ugly. Not because she's fat as other people seem to be wording it, but because this "style" does not match or look good on her at all. Whoever the artist is that keeps revamping the NPC's, please have more originality and diversity with your work. I'm tired of seeing this same style on all NPC's and it just doesn't look right on this one. (the soft marshmallow nose, the half realistic, half anime look...) Yeah no. And its not even the nose with that "soft marshmallow look" sometimes its other things that don't even need that. Also the designs on her face could have looked more tribal or something. With the way its done here, she looks like she's having sever acme problems....
