Eyesight - I totally used to be the same way until I realized they termed in how you see best. Near sighted, you see the best when it's close to you. Far sighted, you see better when it's far away. Seems as though we're both near sighted. Since I always need them, they can gauge how near I can see when I have corrective vision ware on so they want to add to the prescription. -_- Unless I'm using my regular contacts or glasses, I don't need "readers". It's annoying how they want you to pay for shit, these days.
Mask? Masks are optional, here but yeah, I had the same problem when I wore a mask w/ my glasses and "they" said I wasn't wearing the mask right. eyeroll Masks have never been proven to prevent anything - other than s/one that has a cold/flu and was actively sick, most Asians would wear it during those time to prevent the spread of stuff.. BUT... study after study has concluded that they really don't do shit.
And, cause I'm drinking, I'll just say.... social distancing was a joke. Most viruses don't move beyond 3ft, I believe, even after a sneeze. The PCR tests are an absolute joke - a cantalope tested positive - as they weren't meant for this. All independent and "paid for" studies have shown that 9 out of 10 "vacc'd" are susceptible and actually GET cv19, as opposed to those that didn't, which is 2 out 10.
And don't even get me started on the proxy war that the US setup in Ukraine. So much Russian propaganda, it's sickening. What about those secret bio labs in Ukraine - American owned.
Guess I might burn some bridges by saying these things and I'm ok w/ that. I don't read social media or MSM type of articles and whenever I say I'm reading, I'm researching facts. It's very time consuming, tbh. My daughters have a healthy level of skepticism for their fields (both medical) and I can always offer them more info but the media coverage of a proxy war is s/thing they need a LOT more info on.
So... i read. And read some more. And more.
I can't wait to get away from shit next week. I was going to say that I'll only stop in to keep my 20 s/thing streak of the BH but I have a feeling they'll start Masq.
Btw - I have a TON of articles saved for anyone willing to read. I hate that the VAERS system/site is so shunned but the most reliable reports of adverse effects, the number of "vax'd" and not "vax'd", come from Israel - who were the first to MANDATE that everyone do what they say. The next best info is from Europe, as their VAERS system is more scrutinized. S/thing Yellow? (Our UK lovelies can help w/ this)

We aren't required to wear them anymore here either. Just for the past two years that we WERE, I stopped wearing my glasses - I need to go get new ones, I'm sure. (Just looked back, it was supposed to say mask WAS required in my last post lol)
I agree the masks were pretty much useless, and I don't think the vaccines (which I also don't really believe they are vaccines, they are more like the flu shot, which is NOT a vaccine, to me....) did really much good either. I don't get all into the studies or anything, but yea, since people who got the vax still got covid, obviously it isn't a vaccine. You get the flu shot you can still get flu. Just mostly not as sick as if you didn't get a flu shot.
I will say I didn't mind the social distancing ;) Just because I don't like people being all up in my space (Except kids, like my 4yr olds lol). And it (social distancing) is very hard to do when you teach 4yr olds. But staying 6ft away (or 3ft once they changed it this past year) from other adults, yea I'm fine with that hahah. I usually do that anyway unless they are close friends or family.
Right now there is pretty much ZERO effort about covid in the school for kids. We aren't even monitoring them for fevers with the infared cameras they scrambled to install. I mean, you have it, why not keep using it? Make sure no sick kid comes in. There ARE parents who will send in a sick kid (covid, flu, cold, whatever!) But no. And honestly thats ok by me too really. But what annoys me is that NOTHING is being done for/with the kids but us ADULTS still have to send in this stupid google questionaire - name, email, work site and then "have you been exposed to anyone with a positive result in the past two weeks" and "do you have any ...yadda yadda yadda..... symptoms in the past two weeks" If we aren't monitoring the kids, why do the grown ups still have to do this stupid form? You would think that as an adult we would all know to stay home if we have any of these symptoms . I sure would :P
Morning!
Oh yeah, it's funny that whenever I call to make an appointment anywhere that involves a specialist/doctor, you're given the 3rd degree of questions.
So tired this morning. Forgot to take out the garbage yesterday and I woke up in the middle of the night, remembered it and got up to take it to the curb. Of course it was hard to go back to sleep after that. :P
Where has the month gone already! Sheesh. Can't believe it's already the end of April.

I know. It's gone fast. This week has gone fast too. I'm not sure how it's Friday tomorrow. My doctor has signs up but doesn't enforce it. Nathan's Dr enforces it. They make you leave or pay for a mask if you dont have one 😲
Bought my tickets for the Renaissance Festival! We are going on Mother's Day. Pirate weekend. Lol Can't remember if I said before, but it is me and Katie and Nathan, and Katies boyfriend Wesley, plus his mom and sister all going together. Debating if I want to wear my flowy skirt or not. I will take my parasol! 😝
Sorry I’ve not been around much been snowed under at work. Plus I’m not feeling 100%.
I’ve just been online to do my dailies and stock my shop.
I’ll be back more when I’m feeling better
Aww hope you feel better soon
Nathan's end of year chorus concert/show is tonight. Will be interesting to see how much of Duncan (the old chorus teacher) style is still in place (new teacher was a student of his). Starts at 7. Wondering what to do for dinner before the show. Thought maybe Caterina's (little Mexican place) or Firehouse Subs (which is in town and closer to the show location).
Also trying to decide if I want to take lunch tomorrow and if so, what. Because its uncrustable PBJ or pizza. The pizza isn't horrible. I'll eat it. But I don't really feel like school pizza. I do NOT eat uncrustables.
[edit] Good Morning (619am) pizza it is. I never sorted anything for lunch.
Also. WHEW!! The instructor finally explained. What it was, the curve grade actually increased (she says everyones, but if it did increase mine it was by tenths of a point) grades - and the reason the grades dropped was the 0 for the concert grade , which she has now graded and my grade is now back to a 98!! The concert report wasn't due until May 2nd, but everything else had to be graded online, by April 22. So it still showed a 0 for that grade until she graded it manually.
Now the only thing left to be graded is my history slideshow project. And I turned that in before I did the concert report so I don't know why he is taking so long to grade it. (I emailed him this morning to verify he could view it, even if he had not yet begun grading those projects, hopefully he'll reply today)
Oh - and Nathans end of year concert was cute enough (its kind of more like a musical than a concert). They did a decent job. I know it would have been a better production if Duncan was still there, but not bad for a new teacher's first year. :)
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone and particular thanks for my banner and lovely gifts ❤ I had an alright day but was pretty tired and grumpy from working on my essay. I have been grinding this week!! I've just submitted though, so I'm off to have a relaxing day before I have to start on the next one tomorrow!!
Pleased to hear you got the grading issue sorted and back to what you deserve Kat!
Have a lovely day all of you xxx
Hiii all.
I've been stressing more as the week winds down and I'm going over the list of things I have to prepare and keeping an eye on the weather. I also know I'm not as fit as I would like to be for hiking in w/ a 40lb pack.
Ugh.
BUT, I need this. Really need this.
Good job on the grade and essay, Kat & Caz! I'm glad I don't have that added stress in my life.
Feel better, !
Where's been? Helllooooo

HI I really hope it doesn't rain too much and you enjoy your camping trip!! Yea I wonder where Mieke is too. Busy with RL I guess ;)
Tonight is the "Spring Fling" at school and all I can say is thank god I'm not REQUIRED to be there like the certified teachers. I decided not to go. I'm pooped. Just wanna chill at home.
Also, isnt' it crazy yet awesome how even tho you've read a book series a long time ago, if you get a new one, you are just instantly transported back into that series? :P I finished Harry Potter (even the fantastic beasts and cursed child screenplay books)....so last night while killing time between eating and going to the chorus show - I dropped by the library to see if any of my favorite authors had any new books out....got two. and just dropped right into book 3 of a series I haven't read in 1-2 years LOL
I love finding a book that transports you to another world! What are you reading ?
Pleased you got to have a quiet night! I imagine going to those school social events are hard going when you've been there all week!
My grandma is 90 today! She's brilliant, we're going round later for tea! I'm starting on my next assignment now. This one is either about how we can improve fluid intelligence or how personality change can be implemented. I need to decide which topic and I don't know because I've enjoyed both!! I'm just watching the powerpoints for each and making some notes. Hope you're all having a great day xxx
Yes, its quite enough to be there all day, all week :P Many teachers are there longer. And the more of that I see, the more I think to myself, IF/when I become lead teacher, I need to figure a way that I do not need to stay late or take stuff home to finish. Of course, with PreK stuff, I imagine it would mostly be cutting things out at home for me,(and that kind of stuff I wouldn't mind) because I tend to be very organized and get things done quickly rather than last minute. No way to know until it actually happens tho. I think partly because it was the first "in person" family event we've been able to have in forever that he "requested" all certified teachers to stay the entire time. In addition to working a booth/activity. A request like that is basically a requirement. :P If my kids were younger I'd have taken them to have fun, but with me having older kids and not being required, I chose to stay home. I did aaaalmost go, just because I knew I'd see some older kids I used to have in my class and one of them even asked if they'd see me there....awwww. I just love when the older kids come back and love on you!!
I am currently reading a book called "Spy Spy Again" and its a Valdemar novel, by the author Mercedes Lackey. I love her books, especially Valdemar!! The other book I got is a new one about Valdemar himself, the man who founded the country all the novels are based in/about :D I'm so excited!!! (She had released a short story before this, a long time ago, so having a new novel about it is sooo cool to me. I love backstories) lol
Happy Birthday to your Grandma!! 90 is awesome! And still out and about! Wonderful! My grandma passed just after her 100th birthday, but wasn't out and about much the last years...and i didnt live close enough to spend any time with any of my grandparents really.
Happy Belated Birthday to you! And Happy Birthday to your Grandmother!!!! 🎂 ❤ 🎂
Hello My Friends. Busy day yesterday, I saw no one really got on so I didn't come back much. I read my books :P
I also have checked in with my school and STILL no grade or reply from History teacher on final project. It was due April 24 so I'm not sure why its not graded yet. But the term isn't officially over til tomorrow or maybe the 6th of May so. Meh. I just hate waiting. I know I'll get a good grade, I can't imagine not getting a decent grade on the project and I already have a 96 in the class right now w/o it - so once its graded I can't see my grade dropping much if any. Just hate waiting to find out. Especially since I've been waiting on this one since April 10 when I turned the project in!
Busy afternoon coming up - Going to help clean out the closet at the lodge, pick out southern belle dresses for 2 (maybe 3 if I pick out what Katie wants) girls, and set aside dresses for other 2 little girls - and the two little girls who come today will also be making "cards for the veterans" - their own idea. SO cute and sweet of them. I will pass them along to one of our board members who is part of the American Legion to take down there to share. [edit] 555pm Two little girls dresses picked out (and OMG they are adorable in them - we tried them on for size and to get a hoop skirt for one). And dress picked for my daughter, but still need her to get a hoop skirt. And hahahaha they are soooo funny. So I showed them how to fold paper to make cards, and then left them to it while I helped empty the closet out so we could get to the dresses, went to check on them and they were FULL Sheet cards, weirdly folded cards, weirdly written on cards....hahah its adorable. I helped them make a few more, then we tried on dresses. I think they had fun :) Thats the main thing.
Good evening, all.
Unlike yesterday, today has been pretty busy with keeping my lists updated and getting camp gear ready, which at this point is permethrin (bug deterrent) on certain items, respray of waterproofing on stuff that's already supposedly waterproof. It was supposed to rain today but ended up being mostly sunny and very breezy, which helped a lot w/ the drying of stuff. Gives me hope that some of the other weather patterns this week will change. I'm not sure if I'm going to leave on Tuesday or Wednesday. Depends on the weather for Tuesday. Not trying to set up camp when it's raining, which it's predicted to do.
Yesterday, I was just tired and it didn't help that I slept about 5hrs and couldn't go back to sleep until an afternoon nap. I watched the last 2 of the American Pie series, all of the Fridays, Trainwreck and then ended on a docu-series called Twisted Killers. It's pretty crazy but it's not anything I'm not familiar with. I used to watch a series called Snapped all the time and it was all about women who had killed.
So I made lists - 1) what I need to do before I go, 2) camp gear, 3) what to buy at the store before I go. I've never done this before and truthfully, I've been pretty good w/ knowing everything I need to do but I thought it would be nice to actually see it and make checkoffs of what I've accomplished. aaahhhhhh I just remembered I still have to practice on some of the main knots used to tie off lines. 😔 I'll do that tomorrow. I'm also going to go over my route to destination, which includes 2 different trailheads that I'm going to check out. You can't really G map "trailheads" but I have an actual map, G maps and I think I might pass by a ranger station that I can get trail maps from. (why the hell they don't offer that to order online is beyond me)
You got a forum point while making a post! Check out the shop here! Heeyyyyyyy

Lists Lists Lists... my favorite thing. Sort of? I like them because it helps me not forget stuff. But it seems as soon as I start making the list, I forget what I wanted to put on it hahahh!!
Its teacher appreciate week - and I get a chickfila biscuit for breakfast from PTO at school today. Sweet. I have decided to buy my co-teacher a mini fan like I have for her desk, as she is always as hot as me lately, and has even said that when she stays later she'll go stand in front of MY fan after I leave hahaha!! So I think she'll appreciate having her own fan (if we can figure out WHERE on her desk to put it - I'm hoping to find one a little smaller than mine). So that means today afterschool I have to go pay TWO bills and then run to walmart to see what I can find. I saw some small ones when I looked online, but online doesnt mean its actually ON the shelf.
[edit] 455pm Whoop Whoop! Final Grades in. - Got a 19.5/20 points for my history final project. So final grade in history is 96.5 and final grade in music is 98.7. Go me :D
REALLY appreciate all the teachers and aides, as the latter is (to me) just as important as the former. My youngest was in an IEP from 2nd grade I think, all the way through high school and the majority of the people she favored the most were the aides. It was always unfortunate that most weren't included in the yearly meetings.
Whoop whoop for the grades, Kat! I'd brag, too. :P
I've decided not to go camping. Today has been crazy w/ storms and lots of rain, next couple days are supposed to be good but that's literally it. So if I left tomorrow morning, I would have 2 days and 1 night before the next round of storms are coming in. No thanks. I don't drive 3hrs for an overnight stay - unless I was going to the beach, lol.
I'm good w/ the final decision b/c now I can catch up on a LOT of stuff at home, which includes mowing (changing oil and gas in the mower, first), planting, cleaning and bringing out my hoard of indoor plants to my tiny porch/deck.
Seriously, there's nothing worse than soaked wood (no campfires), soaked ground, muddy everything and if I were to leave on Friday (spending 2 nights rather than 1), I'll probably be packing up a bunch of rain soaked items - and packing in the rain. That's a big NO for me. Done it... never again.
Maybe if it was only an hour of a drive.
Have all week to get some of the major things done... well, kind of. Need to do the grass in the 2 day window of no rain and I might need to let it just dry out tomorrow b/c it's super thick and it's already rained a ton. Months worth of laundry - I don't have that luxury at my house, same w/ a dishwasher. For the latter, I've thought about getting a portable but they're bulky and I don't have a lot of space. Planting.... well, I'm doing a new area that's going to be bigger so that's going to be quite a bit of work w/ just a shovel.
I will definitely make time to go to my local park and walk around for some peace and quiet. ;)

Today I got an apple shaped frosted cookie from PTO it's cute but usually ones like that don't taste s good? 🤪 Also one of my little girls brought me two giant marshmallows in a ziplock bag. I wanted to laugh but it was so cute too. Her big sister came in and saw them and said "did sister give you those?" Yes "I drew my teacher a card and put some in a bag for her, guess sister wanted to do the same for you" Made me want to laugh even more. Those two girls are just the sweetest. Oh and random coffee house sent over some goody bags, so got a pencil, bookmark, ruler with school name on it, keychain with school mascot/name (that one was cool!) And a mini bag of caramel popcorn. Maybe the coffee house is a sponsor of our school? I honestly don't know lol
Booo for not going camping like you wanted but i totally wouldn't want to go in the rain/wet either. Yaaay for getting things done around the house😊 and yes go take some nice walks in your local park for sure. Err...you don't have a washer/dryer and wait months to do laundry? I don't think I could wait that long. I think I own 8-10 pair of pants? More shirts but also only 6 bras!! And when I think of a months with of towels. Shudder do you hang yours up and reuse them? Some people do. I don't. One towel every time I bathe. It's soaked after because I use it to dry my hair too. [Edit] Good Morning 530am why did you send that rainstorm to me? Booming thunder woke me at 3 and again around 4. Now we can't go play outside today I bet it will be too wet at recess.
I reuse towels, always hang them up after. You're clean, so they're clean. :P We each have a space to hang them.
But we're also not every day showerers (Well, unless we need to be!) more like every other, so it works a bit better.
But I will say, we do do a load of towels a week anyway (mostly hand towels, because we use those for everything, cleaning up, wiping, drying dishes). We almost never use paper towels, unless it's something really gross. And then there's just regular laundry, so we do about 7 loads per week, with towels and sheets. I'd hate to hate to lug that everywhere.
That's cute, Kat! The girls decided they wanted to do some things too, so I designed what Lily wanted for her band (and jazz band and marching band) director, and I cut out stuff I already had for everyone else they wanted. We made 6 tote bags, and then just stopped and they picked up some cute stuff, and their favorite snacks and candies. I think it's the first year we actually sent anything in, but these were all the 'above and beyond' teachers.
I do send in supplies when school starts and in December though. And I always send tissues and clorox wipes come cold season (WHY are they not SUPPLIED?!). So I don't feel tooooo bad about it!
I ... Just.... Well .... Certain areas. You know? I know it's clean but I just don't like to reuse towels. Now if I had to go to a laundromat or something I might change my mind but since I can wash everything once a week, I just bought enough towels and clothes for at least a week and there it is. Just fine for me. 😝
I saw the pictures of the bags. Super cute and I know the teachers will enjoy them. And we always appreciate any supplies at anytime, but especially cold supplies at cold season lol
[edit] So today we got charcuterie boxes. They were cute. Had a very cute little card on them that said "charcuterie box....the lunchable for adults" LOL Also, I didn't mention while at work, but this morning as I left I noticed my mailbox had fallen down. So. Looked at when got home, saw that post had rotted (wooden). Decided done with wood, went and bought a metal one (stupid $50!!!) :o And now working on trying to put the post together/mailbox on it, and then got to dig a hole and stand the mailbox back up. Yay. Nathan also has therapy so we are about to leave and do that, even tho I seriously think its worthless at this point. Anything the therapist suggest he just goes "meh" or ignores me when I bring it up - Like she wants him to set goals and accomplish them. ANY GOAL - so like, Do your chores. Brush your teeth every night. Whatever. And earn "tickets" or whatever and then choose a reward to work towards - blizzard from DQ, new video game, whatever - and earn that many tickets to accomplish getting the reward, thus accomplishing a GOAL. Child is all "that didn't work when I was a kid" SIGH
