oooh, in-person classes sound fun! We get all our books for free from the library - on loan of course but that seems like a lot of money to have to put up front!
I get pain in my lower back with my period too, Taarna. Maybe it's an anatomy thing? If it's really debilitating it could be something like endometriosis, I've heard a lot of people get really bad pain due to that and it's really under diagnosed and certainly not well dealt with in the UK.
[edit] OMG! Finally!
You got a forum point while making a post! Check out the shop here!
Hey congrats on your forum point. I haven't gotten one since Vesnali.
I will probably need to go ahead and finally get my school ID since I'll be doing in person haha. Also I turned in my history book, and asked some questions and found out that if I purchase the one thing for $130 or whatever that cost is, it actually works for BOTH my classes so I won't have to pay the second book cost. Yay! Bad news on that is that I cannot turn in online books so no book return/getting money back lol. And I will have to look and see if my fall classes use cengage (the online book app) because if so, I can purchase a 12m instead of 3m for only an extra $50 and save money for next semester and maybe even spring semester too!!!!
Wheny daughter did dual enrollment from the high school her books were free/borrowed like that. But lucky me, I get to pay for mine. At least I can turn in actual textbooks and get some $ back. I think you didn't used to be able to do that. Tho you could sell your books to someone who needed it, if your book was still acceptable for the class lol I never did any of that back when.
Morning! Little later than usual. :P Had a mildly productive day, yesterday. Started at noon w/ the dentist, then off to the store. Came back, made me a drink and sat down to let my back relax. After about an hour I decided to do the dishes, which I had been letting slack off for about a week. I have no idea how I could let so many accumulate, lol. So, dishes are done and I take another break. Another hour later I get a couple of those long, rectangular planters started with multiple types of basil b/c I seriously love basil. Two more pots are seeded with cat grass and one with rosemary. That pretty much took it out of me. Several hours later I made a spinach quiche in the air fryer that was SO GOOD, but now I have dirty dishes again. 😔
College books are ridiculously expensive. People aren't keeping them for life so why not be able to turn that back in so they can be resold at a lower amount?
OMG I has to kill a HUGE jumping spider that was on the ceiling!! To make matters worse, it was playing dead for a few minutes and I thought it was odd that it was still stuck to the ceiling until it started to move. So I smacked it again and it finally dropped, only to start running off. It was a mad dash of beating the floor with the roll from the center of wrapping paper and this thing wouldn't die. Of course the cardboard roll was kind of soft but it finally slowed down and I made sure to squish it. ughhh gives me the heebie jeebies
Caz, I don't think I've had that, but I know when I've brought it up to the gyno about how bad it can get, I'm told to just take the max dose of ibuprofen. Like... seriously?!
Anyway, I've pretty much always had back cramps. I remember asking a chiropractor about it back when I was 17 and he told me to drink a bunch of milk the week before. eyeroll I mean, I trust them with my spine and all but that was probably one of the most ridiculous things, although his reasoning was sound at the time. He said that during that time of the month, our bodies extract more calcium from our spine which is why women end up w/ more spinal problems later in life.
Come to think of it, I might actually try some calcium supplements since I am older just to see if that helps but I also need to get my core in better shape b/c I get a lot of back pain from walking, too.
I want to wash my car so bad. It's a black car turning yellow from all the pollen. If I get this wash and wax coating on before it rains, at least it will keep a lot of that crap off it.
Oh and Kat, with me it's the opposite during summer. lol I'm an excessive sweater so when I go outside, I start dripping. Not only that but there's usually work to be done on the gardens. So even though summer clothes are lighter and thinner, I definitely use more and shower more.

I mowed the lawn yesterday. It took me THREE battery changes to get through it. Though I did do ALL of it, and most of it hadn't been done for quite a while. So I had like, two feet in a lot of places, like by the driveway, etc. The yard yard wasn't very bad :P But between mowing, weedwhacking and blowing, I got in 9000 steps. I'm really glad Alex does the backyard with the riding mower!
Taarna, I'd definitely try a different gyno, or maybe your regular PCP. I've noticed that often, they don't really listen to what we're saying. Or they just dismiss it of us being, like, hysterical or some such.
Yeah Kat, books are SO expensive! That's why I was so glad E decided to do some dual enrollment. Not only was the class only like, $50 a credit instead of $250, but the book was covered, too! They were offering two classes this summer for dual enrollment, but you have to buy the book for $150 too, but if she waits to take them during the school year, the book is covered, for the same price. Kind of stupid, really.
Lily is very excited because tomorrow is 6th grade move up day, where they come up to the high school and get the tour, etc. Anyway, Lily got asked by the choir teacher to come and talk about the program, but then she also got asked to talk by the band director. At first, they told her she had to pick one, but now she's talking about all four programs, since she's in all of them. Plus, she gets time out of the school day to do it. AND she's playing in the jazz band for the kids, so she's even MORE excited. I don't think she's doing much of anything, anymore.
AND today is Ellys second AP test, for history this time. It should be over soon, but she was pretty anxious. She could have come home afterwards, but she has GSA so she decided to stay. But last time, none of her teachers gave her any work, and they all gave her snacks LOL. It'll be harder this time, since the AP class (AND dual enrollment!) are just mixed in with the regular history class, since there's only 3 of them doing it this year.
I just got my mower going the other day, AFTER I paid for some locals to mow my front and back for $50. (I originally offered them 40 but the backyard had sections similar to yours, Mieke.) For the backyard, it was the first mow of the season so it was pretty thick. Front yard had been mowed by them once before. Wish I had a rider. It takes an hour just to push mow the backyard. Don't know how many steps that would be but it's exhausting, for sure.
I remember how the kids were quite overwhelmed when they did the high school tour b/c it's so big. They offer all kinds of things... for a price. A lot of snobby rich kids, too.
Not sure what dual enrollment is. Sounds like a lot to take on but it's good to have kids that are interested in being so busy.
And I did get a new gyno... she serves as my/our PCP, also. I've been wanting to find a new doctor for awhile now but it's MUCH harder than ever. I hate my doctor. She doesn't listen to me, gives me the bare minimum of anything or doesn't give me anything at all and she makes the visits as short as possible. With the heart stuff, she suggested I go walking after meals to strengthen it. Well I did that and my PF started getting bad. So now what? Now I'm doing self care b/c she's obviously incapable of doing what she's paid to do.

Dual enrollment is when high school kids take a college course, usually at a college or online or in my case GRCCA (Griffin regional college and career academy- a separate building from the college/school that highschool kids and college teachers go to). They get college course credit and the same grade is applied for their highschool course. So if you take biology for instance, you get a biology college credit and credit for high school biology. They are also usually taking this class during the regular school day. And school transports them when possible in our location tho many drive because it's mostly juniors and seniors that take it (sophomores can, but usually don't).
Band/chorus is an elective to take here, not an extra curricular(sounds a bit like your is extra?)....so they have actual classes for it and schedule the kids for it. However if you take band and chorus, you generally take them all year and you don't take other electives because you have to take your other academics classes.
Umm haha I do sweat if I'm outside. Not excessively. But mostly I stay inside during summer hahaha!!!!
Ohh ok, I do think I heard s/thing about those kinds of classes.
Can't say I blame you for staying indoors with your southern humidity. It gets humid enough up here but I imagine it's not the same as the eastern southern states. I would love to move to FL for a variety of reasons, but only if I was within an hour of the ocean. I love the long growing season, so being in a mostly 2-3 season state would be ideal but if I could move to a western state within certain planting zones, I would just b/c of the drier climate.
[edit] Just finished Drills. Actually made it to 30 without quitting, lol. Skipped around 10, though. That is quite boring.

Yea. I go outside only when needed and stay in my air conditioned house otherwise lol. I do spend an entire almost two weeks sitting in the heat (with a fan!) selling fireworks 😜
Drills can be boring. I skip certain ones too
Forum point for me!!
[edit] To be honest, I have been slack on quests since Vesnali ended. I try but just cant get into it at the moment. I'll probably do all of them again during Masquerade :P
Here, dual enrollment happens AT the high school, just through the college.
And it takes me an hour and a bit to mow my front yard, and it takes Alex about the same to do the backyard, but he has the riding mower. Stupid yard. :P
Band and chorus count as classes here, they're arts classes. But they're also electives past that. Jazz band, marching band, are extra curriculars, and ukulele club is.. a club. :P
Helloooo... FRIDAY! lol
I napped hard yesterday after work and then couldn't fall asleep last night until early morning. It was bad.
That's a helluva yard, Mieke. An hour on a rider!!! Sheesh! My next mower will definitely be self propelled.
I actually have been doing pretty good on quests - this week. Haven't done any battle but that's b/c I don't profit from it. lol Well the pets do, and I just did a bunch of reading to several of the pets I battle with on Monday so there's that. Mostly just grabbed stuff from the specialty shops. Can't imagine doing 17 pets like that.
Supposed to rain this weekend so I'll probably jump out there in between and start digging out my new garden area. Gotta get things in the ground, like artichoke. :D

(I believe we have a bigger school than you, I think at highschool is like 1000+ kids - our county has 2 public highschools, 1 church high school, and the alternative highschool - 4 middle schools, and 11 elementary schools - I'm pretty sure that several churches have lower grade level schools, and the big highschool church probably does all grade levels, not JUST highschool. - the PUBLIC school has over 9000 kids enrolled.) So - Do the highschool teachers teach the class then? Or do the kids do online classes and have a special area of the school/specific classroom to go to? Ours go to GRCCA or the college because the highschool teachers do not/cannot teach them the college courses - they are teaching highschool courses. So GRCCA not only serves OUR county, but also other counties nearby, like about 5 counties I think. Thats another reason why they have thier own building, so the kids from all 5 counties can go to college classes, but not quite mingle with the "adult" college kids. (tho as I said, there are some that do go to the actual college for specific classes - welding for instance cannot be taught in a basic classroom but needs the welding shop - so those kids would actually go to SCTC welding class). The major school for the program is SCTC (southern crescent technical college) - tho several other colleges have classes too. The majority of kids either do tech classes and/or core classes.
We have 1 acre. Riding mower. Do use push mower or weed eater for near the house/hard to get areas. Everyone likes the riding mower hahah. Hubby will even do neighbors yard for them because he likes tootling around so much. He is probably out there a couple hours when he does both yards (both are about 1 acre properties). Mmmmm Well to be fair, unless I'm in the mood, the pets are lucky to be trained 1x a day except the battle pet, who I only have time to train like 3x a day unless I don't have work. And the reading, well I save it for events or when I'm bored, or in the mood... so yea... lol I've been a bit more involved in my farmville2....and son got me back on wizard101 - I hadn't played in years, but he's been playing a lot and while he was home over mothers day it sparked my interest again.... THAT game can take up hours of your time easily lol
11 elementaries?! Atlanta? To be fair, I have no idea how many schools are included in the closest major city to me. :P
I haven't really found any other online games that interest me. That's ok with me b/c I feel like I spend enough time in front of the screen. Last night while I couldn't sleep, I started watching book binding videos. lol That looks quite enjoyable, actually. Watched one that was made with a leather binding and WHOA, that was so beautiful!

The high school teacher teaches the class, normally it's mixed in with the AP classes, since they're already college level classes. The college (Keystone, around here), just has an input on what they should learn, and they supply the books to the school.
We do have a much smaller school, there's 496 kids from 7-12, and there's only two other high schools in the entire county, though the school my nieces and nephews go to is the biggest. And they're all at least 20-30 minutes away from each other :P
You purchased: Replica of Brutes First Rattle
Did I want it? No. Did I want achievements? Yes :P
I have no clue, just an ugly wear, i think? But it's from teh BHH :P
Evening guys, a fly by visit from me. Heading to the pub after dinner Ian will confiscate my phone so I don’t buy anything from Etsy or Amazon lol
Edit just got a forum point 😀
Oh gosh no. I'm sure Atlanta has even more schools than us. I am in Griffin Georgia. Spalding county. Oh and the elementary I work at has the most enrollment, almost 600 kids here. (Well over 500 anyway, our enrollment has dropped the past two years).
I have yet to ever see anything in BHH. Congrats!
Have fun luce!!
Ohh Luce, I'm terrible at that, too. lol Buying shit, getting in new contracts... getting my brother a new phone like mine. Yep, was drinking during that conversation but to be fair, he was HERE and listening. Talk about awkward when I know I wanted to get him an old phone that was shit.
I've caught a couple things from BHH. Random, over several years. Only think to check when I turn in tokens.
Don't know where Griffin is. Since you're putting it all out there I'll just say that I'm north of Cincinnati which I know is small by comparison of the ATL.
Ya know... I never sleep well during my work week. Let me just warn... I'm going to be a "sailor" and just let out what comes to mind which will include a lot of cussing so I apologize in advance but I also know that Sub has filters.
I don't stress over what I actually work on... I stress on my team members - in particular just one and then there's my sup/manager who has been such since I was on another team. Of course he gets leadership over the team that he recommends that I be transferred to.... which is important as far as past history.
There was very little training in what I went into. Not even a solid year. I just showed the aptitude and willingness. I get to the team and I'm under an absolute terror of a human being. This woman was already damaged from her predecessor, so she just passed it on to me but it was worse b/c I wasn't nearly as trained as she thought I was. Several months later, I'm left to train 2 very experienced people on things they had never done, and I barely knew the shit myself!!!
Cutting out some details, 1 of those 2 people was the new one and started treating me like a POS. Arguing through email, chat... you name it. Several "interventions" done. Blah blah more over the next year and a half. Been walking on eggshells for so long now I can't even remember but my body does and I am highly anxious about shit all the time now. (I went on full time anx meds several years ago due to a night shift supervisor abusing his power to control me - and no, it wasn't sexually, but I had the right mind to save conversations/emails/ and even recorded him w/out him knowing, although that was never listened to when they decided to fire him.) The problem w/ my current one is that he doesn't want to confront the other 2 people b/c of the resistance they give. I give resistance, but I also get really scared and succumb, so he can tell me to work w/ assholes that treat me like shit, and I bitch about it, but I do it b/c I'm afraid of the alternative - not having a job. I don't think it's b/c I'm female but he definitely doesn't want to EVER confront males - unless his name has been specifically mentioned and he's defending himself.
Ok, I've said enough for now.
