I joined in December, so Luminaire was a thing right away. I was super new, didn't know anyone, didn't know what I was doing, but there were all these people, perfect strangers, giving me gifts and art and being super nice for no reason, just because it was Christmas? And me, coming from Neopets where you had to have a browser extension that broke the whole internet just so people wouldn't put scripts in their shops that would allow them to hack your account and steal all your stuff, my mind was blown by the sheer sense of community and welcome and belonging that I experienced in like, my first week here.

Happy 16th, subeta. I've only been here for half that time, but I hope to be here for many more years.

my best memories are: the friends I made here, my craze about beating Ice King before the reset, the super helpful subeta community, the Wayward Squirrel, collecting weapons, restocking, the plots, the events..., there are so many to recollect.

I joined the Subeta family nearly 14 years ago, and while I did take a long break for a while, I came back last year and have been so happy to be here again. I love all the friends I've made, and my pets who deserve more attention to their pages. lol I also think my fondest memory was when we got the HA system. I really love designing new outfits and entering contests and such. Happy Birthday, Subeta. Thanks for all the fun.

My memories of my first 5 or so years are very vague, but I do still have the outlines of what happened. Like my first Masquerade having the 2013 plot, I don't remember most of what I did but I do remember doing it whenever a new part came out. I also remember the 2013 EPIcon thing and the avatar contest, I have a lot of ideas if we were to have another one now that I'm in many more fandoms than I was back then.

I don't remember most of the 2014 plots, or the 2015 and 2016 ones, but I do remember that I took part in them, and there are some things that stand out (like the introduction of the 2048 game, speaking of which I went through a phase in 2018 where I would keep playing it until I finally won).

I really wish there was an official guide to past plots in the Subetapedia or something, not all of them have been documented on the Subeta wikia sadly =( Last year I started taking screenshots of funny or nice things that I thought were significant enough, just so I have something to remember them by should my brain decide to get rid of those memories too. We didn't have many events, this was just regular site stuff.

I've also become more of friends with some users over the past year or two. I don't know if they consider me as close as I consider them (because I don't have many real life friends, and I hardly got to see them this year for obvious reasons), but it's still nice to see them online and talk to them, and I even know a few of them on other websites like Discord and Tumblr.

What would I like to see in the future? More lore. It doesn't have to be a full-on plot if that's too much effort, just some NPC-made news posts or forum posts, or item descriptions or small events. I'd really like to know how Bubbles became a zombie if he was killed, was he infected when he died, or is there another way to become one? But that doesn't need a whole plot to explain. I also agree with wanting to hear from some other NPCs again hintlike next Morostidehint to see what they've been doing and just for more lore about them too. We get a lot about Quest NPCs from the Quest Shop items, so how about more information about the ones they have relations with, or from NPCs involved with holidays?

Spent and still spend much of my time on this site lurking around and just passively accumulating things. Will need to sort things out later...

Anyways, some of my most remembered memories is the Omen Islands event (Amy ;-;7), masquerade murder mystery, Steele's Saherimos excavation, and the cruise! Loved the little tribute trinkets as well although the plot made me sad. I LOVE the steamwork pets and Isaac is everyone's precious son. I absolutely loved, loved, LOVED the puzzles in the excavation site! And finally, I really loved meeting all the ambassadors during the cruise; it had great worldbuilding and I'm such a fan for good, non-wordy worldbuilding! ^^

I also remembering being immensely proud of myself for being able to do SOME damage to the gelatin boss......even if it's just a tiny pinprick in comparison to those that actually focus on the skills of their pets ^^;

May be invisible, but never gonna leave this site! It's so nice and provides calm <3

My favorite memory is probably the extreme kindness I was shown after The Worst Birthday Ever (TM), where my ride left me at a convention an hour from home without telling me. Everyone on here was so kind and generous afterwards. The community here is amazing.

Subeta specific? Probably either the first survival, the first masq, or the first Moro plot! I loved the mini games in the moro plot, and how it developed and how well the story was done. Also loved the Tempest plot, and the color! Those were so much fun <3

Wow 16 years, that's such a great milestone!

I remember joining around 2006? (checks profile -- yes, 2006) Unfortunately the site didn't hold my interest since I was still hooked on Neo, but I returned on 2008 (thankfully accounts didn't get deleted after a year back then?), and been an active member ever since!

There's been so many changes that I've witnessed happen on the site! I've loved the plots, and events, and the yearly celebrations are always exciting! It's been incredible to see how our artist outdo themselves with each item revamp, and how each item is prettier and cooler than past years.

I distinctly remember when Subeta introduced Gabriel's avatar exchange, which was the system used to turn in the old avatars we've earned, and we got clothing for the upcoming wardrobe! I found it so very unique, and it's been on my memory since!

Of course, the very best thing about Subeta for me is Unique, which I've been member since its planning and creation! The change of Cults to Forum Groups has been one of the saddest moments for me (LOL it's true), but my group, with my amazing friends through the years, have always stuck together and have become a family within the Subeta Community, and I'm very so grateful for this ❤️

I've been playing Subeta for many years, and its very nostalgic for me. I love seeing how far the site has come. I also met my wonderful partner of 3 years through Subeta,

Something that's always exciting for me is new pet colors, and all the small quality of life updates Bug is always doing. :)

I honestly grew up with subeta — the community feels so personal.

I don’t speak to them much these days (adulthood, real life) but was an especially huge inspiration to me and I’m glad to be able call her my friend. Pets continue to be the main draw of the site thanks to the hard work of the artists and the freedom we have to design OCs on subeta.

We haven’t spoken in years(?) at this point but helped me through my angst-ridden youth and I’ll forever be in his debt for his support and friendship. We wouldn’t have met if not for subeta!

Many of my friends have moved on or we just don’t speak anymore but I have wonderful memories of the friends I made here.

I am around for about half of the time, a beloved friend brought me over from another gaming site. I was surprised and amazed that staff actually communicated with the user base so much and that almost every day I logged in, some news were posted which were interesting, fun, and entertaining. I fell in love with the wardrobe and met a lot of new friends over this theme, some of them I even met and meet in RL. News and events seem to be a bit slower nowadays yet there is always the possibility to enjoy user created events and games and every day is a new adventure here.

For the future, I wish first and foremost for a smart realization of the announced changes to uploading CWs since I have a lot of ideas for new designs.

I would enjoy new ideas during old events, too. I really love Subeta events, they are very different, yet it would be nice when now and then some new peaks would be implemented so the older userbase would find even more excitement after many years of the same event format.

Although I really don't frequent there anymore, I loved hanging out on the pet forums and spotlight support. Subeta was my first experience of having somewhere I could really customise myself: pet and user profiles! It fostered a love for web development so deep that I had a change of heart about my career path, expanded my skills and it's now (in part) my job. So I'd have to say I'm most looking forward to the rebuild that's happening!

Thinking back, I realize that in all my years on here, I've never once come across an unkind member or staff. That is remarkable and seems so different from other sites like this. coughNeocough

I remember stock market, my avatar got vandalized as I didn't feed my pet, tierless weapon, no armory, and pets getting fired for asking for promotion. I just got bit nostalgic to middle school.

JaxIan plots, Esther and Emma's wedding, the chats Keith always did. Uh there was a funny sb conversation I remember one day with Keith and some others talking about drawing pizza for hands. Amber's love of puns and teasing us. How staff and members have come together when big bad things happen or when a fellow member dies, oh boy nearly started crying over faerie and Nightwic and AlloniaD there.

Hmm hopes and dreams for the site well still waiting on an angelic Harvester lol. But seriously more faux versions of items in many colors and more rainbow stuff and for Bug and Keith to finally be able to get the wardrobe working right and stay working.

If I have to pick a favorite thing about Subeta, it's the people. The community. This has to be one of the kindest and most accepting places I've ever seen. I've made some wonderful friends here, and grown so much as a person. I love how much creative freedom we are given as users, with how we're able to completely transform our pet profiles, as well as contribute with custom wearables. No other website has these (at least that I know of).

I've only been here for 12 of Subeta's 16 years, and I'm sure I missed some milestones from several lengths of inactivity that I went through, but the time I have been here for has been nothing short of amazing. Thank you, Subeta. <3

Not much of a people's person, but even as a silent lurker, I feel so welcome here. It such a great place to come to. In general, Subeta is a site that's like a haven from real life, and somehow is able to focus on the right things that I love. I'm a big fan of fantasy and dark fantasy, so events like Survival and Morostide are my favorite events of the year (also because in my country there is not a lot of interest in Halloween themed activities).

Probably hope most for more harvest coloured pets! (still waiting for the Harvest Illumis to come out)

wow.. i transitioned from a teenager to an adult in here. i shared my fears, my weaknesses, my worst, my best, my adventures, my goofiness and pretty much all of my heart's content here on Sub. i've met all sorts of people over the 9 years i've been playing, made the sweetest and most wonderful friends and most definitely, i've had and still have loads of fun. it's super stressing sometimes (i tried to quit twice but i confess i can't leave LMAO) but so super worthy to stick around.

Subeta means a lot to me, more than i'd like to admit, in a bunch of aspects. i just want to see the site prosper and thrive. i'll be here for the next 16 years. ❤️

my fondest memory in here is the Saheric/Saherimos plot. lord it's by far the best thing i ever had the pleasure to participate since i joined. it was so well done and elaborated. the story was fantastic, the games, events and puzzles were absolutely perfect and we met Blake fuken Steele. Blake if you're reading this you're all sorts of great and i love you. thank you for bringing the Bhakorus to the surface!!

Ecks vs Skitters also brings back some damn good memories. that was my favorite Survival ahh. ❤️

My favourite memories are usually around Luminaire. For some reason that is still my favourite holiday and I just love the events around this time of the year :) Other favourites are of people I met a long time ago, but they are sadly no longer active. Yet, still things I treasure.

As for hopes? Just to continue to talk to everyone and relax with any kind of events. Simple yet effective.

Happy birthday Subeta! My fondest memory was after the sight got deleted for the second time? Bit vague on that, but I was very excited when I realised the site was back again.

I liked how personal the site could be, people naming items after themselves was funny. Eau De Stijn sticks in my mind for some reason.
