Hey! 💕 How’s everyone’s summer going? I haven’t been around much- been crazy busy at work so I’ve been trying to make the most of my ‘down time’! Seems like that’s a common theme for this summer for everyone! :)

My co-worker took 2 months of unpaid leave this summer & 3 months of stress leave last summer (only to find out she was actually babysitting her grandkids and still being paid at work)- it’s starting to get old really quick! And always during our busiest time so I’ve been run off my feet. She’s back Monday so I am REALLY looking forward to slowing down some for what’s left of the summer here! Maybe actually take a little vacation. Sorry for the vent- it’s just getting so frustrating and to be honest I’m feeling a little taken advantage of. Ah well, I try not to let it get to me so thanks for letting me vent! hugs

So who has some good summer stories? I’d love to hear them!!!

Hey Hun hugs I have been babysitting a lot lately. Hopefully that will end soon. Keeping busy all summer! I think a lot of us are super busy right now 0_0 Well that stinks! I hate when people are allowed to get away with things like that!! Makes it way too hard on the people around her. Very inconsiderate! Hopefully you get to take a mini vaca soon hugs Eh I wish I had a great story. Just hanging around at home and babysitting. Not much else going on :(

Just got a letter in the mail from the landlords. They are raising our rent an extra $75.00 a month! That is just great sigh

Nothing wrong with venting every now and then, sometimes you just have to get all the bad feelings out lol.

Hopefully you're able to take a well-deserved break soon! Even if "vacation" ends up just relaxing at home, it's still nice to not have to deal with work stress for a little while.

I haven't really been super busy, just haven't been around on Subeta as much lately. I've mostly just been doing dailies and trying to quest sometimes. ;~;

There will probably be more people around again once the holiday season starts back up. We've got the site's anniversary and pirates next month ~

It sounds like you need and deserve a nice vacation. I can totally relate to what you are saying my manager is always taking a leave at inventory time and Christmas time and all the work falls on me! That was not fair of her to dump the work on you to go baby sit.

$75 increase/month?!!! Is it legal? In Canada, each province has a rental board. My landlord tried to increase $40/month hoping to force me to move. I refused... she had the stupidity of going to the rental board. She had to pay the fee, she lost (unable to justify increase). The previous year I agreed to a $10 increase but the judge calculated and came out to $5! So she winded up no being reimbursed for the court fee (had asked the court for me to pay) and getting less than if she would have just raised like last year :P

yeah it is legal :( unfortunately. When our previous landlord sold the building I had a feeling the rent would go up sooner or later. New people moving in are paying that much so I knew it was a matter of time before they got around to the rest of us. They were even nice enough to send me a letter telling me how much they appreciate me living here, and I was more then welcome to leave if I could not pay the new amount. How thoughtful of them.

Definitely see about getting a super long term on the lease to avoid horrible increases in the future.

Also, sign up for low housing... it could take years but with Emily, they might give you a higher priority.

Low income housing here is called Section 8 and it is horrible.

That's just horrible hun. There are things in Canada we tend to take for granted...

We have some problem low-income housing... but others are good. Maybe look into private cooperatives that have a fix or lower-cost housing but in return want tenants to be active in the housing and volunteer time.

The one I'm in now I lucked out in finding... although I had to work hard to be accepted. Normally it's a ten-year waiting list for a single person in the regular system... but this one is private & was brand new so it was a race to the mailbox.

I hope you can afford the hike in rent. You could ask if they intend to continue raising or will it be at that rate for a long time? New landlords new way of doing things.

Is there financial help from the government you can get? In Quebec, single mothers (as well as seniors) can get a bonus amount when they are not living in social aid housing.

Right now I'm living off my credit card :S A series of bad events have made it that it's the only way I can function right now... in a few months things will be more stable but the stress is eating me up of having to deal with so much that there are days I can hardly function. I don't sleep much, I'm having trouble eating, etc.

As for me, summer has been busy and filled with babies. My cousin just had a baby boy, my stepbrother and his wife are sue any day now, and my brother and his wife are due in February.

Gov help of any kind is very hard to get here for most of us :(

Credit cards are great for emergencies, but they can feel like a black hole! I have one that I need to get paid off. The fees are awful :( Hopefully things calm down for you soon hugs

I managed to make pancakes today! Usually, I wouldn't have tried as I'm too exhausted to clean dishes... but with my new dishwasher, it made cooking possible. I sat on a stool and went at a slow pace... but I managed to make them and they were DELICIOUS!!!

It's a new recipe I tried... oatmeal, cottage cheese, eggs, baking powder, salt... and a special ingredient: "Sunberry" Tomatoes that taste fruity. After they were cooked I added some margarine that tastes like butter and some maple syrop... ohhhhh ahhh mmmm!

I would love to have a dishwasher! Oh that sounds very interesting :) I am glad you had something yummy!

It's the 7th apartment I have and it's the first that has space for one. It took a lot of time/energy to have it functional... I'm still working on making it clean better; however, it's working better now and it's making a big difference :) It was an expensive purchase... but it's helping me regain my capacity to function better :D

Anything that makes life a little better/easier is worth it :D

Some days I'm not really that busy, I just haven't been that great about setting aside time to get online. Yeah, I really wish she would have stuck to her word. I won't be working at the diner next year. Sticking around after Chris got fired allowed me to watch how she interacts with some of her other waitstaff, namely the ones that she didn't take the time to fully train and help. Her parents help her out with the diner, but it seems like she can't make decisions or handle tough talks with employees by herself. I've had the walking boot for about a month and the toe is still painful. Doesn't help that I can't wear it to do chores when it's muddy and I sometimes don't wear it at home. We need to either snake the drains or pour draino or something similar down each drain. If water sits in the pipes for too long (like if a sink isn't used for most of the day) the water smells like a sewer. Chris's middle brother volunteered us and they completely ignored my response about how we might have to work that day. We told them that since it was at our house, we were supplying the hamburgers and entertainment, everyone else could figure out what else to bring. Monday ended up being chaotic (I was on day 5 of a migraine). They were supposed to be here at 10:30 am and didn't show up until about 11:20. His parents had said they were bringing homemade ice cream, so I figured it would already be made......nope, they made it here and used my special homemade vanilla that I got from Chris's aunt without asking. While we were eating, Chris asked his mom what she was drinking (some rum tea drink) to check that it didn't have strawberries. It didn't, but the juice they brought for the youngest did have strawberries. FIL's response was that it was artificially flavored so it wasn't a big deal. I threw away the cup (luckily it was just from a local BBQ joint) and washed all the dishes with bleach. The rest of the day didn't get much better, the youngest is 14 and hasn't matured at all. That's totally ok! I don't completely remember some of the stuff we were talking about either.

Just letting you know that today has been a super crazy day!! I had a job interview at 11 this morning. Then I went for a drug test. First time I tried I didn't "go" enough, so I had to drink a ton (5 cups) of water and wait for almost an hour to try again. Finally got that taken care of and had to call some automated thing and give them all this information within one hour of the test. My phone decided to act up sigh so I had to race all the way home and try to find someone with a phone! I was driving home feeling like I was going to burst from all the water, so of course I got hit with a ton of red lights! Bad timing! Everything went wrong. Now I am trying to relax and the stupid carbon monoxide detector in the laundry room is beeping. I called maintenance and they wont do anything until tomorrow, but insist that there is no reason for it to go off. Now I am stuck listening to a loud beep all night. I deff would not go back to work for her. Ever! Ouch Hun :( I hope it feels better soon hugs Oh yeah standing water is totally disgusting. It is amazing how badly water can smell! I would tell his brother that he needs to stop volunteering your house for events. That is totally rude! That is terrible about the vanilla. I would not invite them over again. They obviously do not care about your feelings and that is really sad.

Hey all! I’m alive again lol! Seems like summer is the time for everyone to disappear for a while huh? I wasn’t intending on being offline for so long but it’s just been tough to find the time and energy. I’ve been busy, my cousin graduated high school and came to visit us for a couple weeks so we were having fun. There’s been some not so great stuff happening too that’s been hard to deal with emotionally. So just an overwhelming summer I guess you could say.
