I still do not have all of my wins in against Cynthilocks yet I think I have 2 or maybe 3 wins over her but not real sure

It's a new week. Good luck.
She's a real pain. Stealing like crazy. At least that's what I remember. I block her battles out of my head.

and she freezes a lot too if its not the stealing of your weapons then its the freezing I will get her soon not to worried about it right now my pet will get stronger .... and on a different note I just noticed in your signature there it says you have over 2.5 million exp saved up thats awesome what are you going to use them on or are you afraid to use them right now cause it will push you over the cap on your pet just curious is all

Yes. Now that you mentioned it. She does freeze like crazy. Total brat. Hated fighting her.
So I'm saving for the time when I'm going to boost 1,000 HP to make it an even 12,000. I have 10,000 STR. I have to leech off 500 from speed and defense. So I also need to buy leeches. It will be a long process. Final build will be 12k 10k 6,5 6,5. I'm 2 exp from capping right now.
[Edit] Incomplete Manuscripts has been read to Kuuipo! Your pet has gained an alchemy point!

I thought you were really close to the cap ... I have never used the leeches yet I know how they work but do they only take one point of that stat for each leech or do they take more then one at a time ... do you know

- yes, that's how I thought it worked. Although there certainly seem to be some other factors that impact critical hits after speed is taken into account.
- hmm, never noticed that before about the order the damage is printed in, I'll have to look for that just for fun! Thanks. But as far as practicality is concerned, if you both get to hit once each turn, then, unlike in D&D, speed really doesn't matter for that. And yes, it's definitely a factor for critical hits which can have a big impact, especially for lower tier and/or low health pets. Also true there are a few weapons that scale with speed, so if you're using one of those it makes a difference there too.
I wonder whether there was once a more D&D like based initiative system for battling at one point? (Or maybe even one like that which was changed before the first release of the code for some reason?)
- wow - you have all three shrines in your default set? How interesting. I guess if you add up all their healing it might help on a turn when you are frozen, but isn't it hard to be able to activate them all? Clearly with your win list you are doing something really well. (And yes, having fewer mod slots is a problem once you're used to using them.)
I only have the Shrine of Apollonia so far, but it is definitely part of my T3 set, along with the freezer and, of course, the Phoenix Quill. But I have a few more offensive healers, like . By the way, that's only seven - are you missing something or is the last sort of a "floating" slot for you? I am also using the which (I think) has some sort of freeze potential.
- I don't know, I sort of like the Troll. I think it really encouraged people to work together, and if someone really wants to beat it badly enough to put together the time and a disciplined group, beating it winds up being a very special experience. It would help though, if we could be sure the winning weapon was still limited to T3 or under. Worrying about anything higher quickly gets things out of hand.
When subeta started there wasn't any speed stats for pets they added that later on..... and at one time you could challenge other player's pets to battle your pet as well and you could change how many weapons could be used per turn for that battle it was pretty cool but it didn't work out the way that they wanted it to I guess so they got rid of that .... for a long time there were a few different challengers ... like Replica and Maleria and a few other I can't remember right off hand but you can't battle them anymore that I know of

- sounds interesting. I'm always curious about how things used to work, or how the code works underneath. It would have been fun to have tried that battle system. Thank you.
no problem I kinda wish they would bring back being able to battle pets as long as they were in the same Tier group .... and it wasn't like you had to battle them you accept the challenge or not

Morning everyone. Was hoping I'd wake up to this month's CS challenger but I guess the pet poll result takes priority. Here's hoping the challenger will be released some time this week (if it's tonight, the better! :D)
- I'm sure the Subeta staff will make sure all the battlers have a chance to spend their hard earned CSC soon now. :-) Wishing you and all my battle friends much success against the newest challenger.
- that would be nice, but I'm sure the issue isn't having to accept the challenge, but the amount of coding that would be needed to make it happen. Part of the good (and sometimes not so good) about Subeta is the small staff which, of course, also means their programmers have lots on their plates. And they do an amazing job with what they have but really big things are very hard to squeeze in.
Thank you! Just in time for this month's challenger because the Bathhouse gave me 50CSC yesterday :D
- that is very nice timing! Congratulations.
[edit] Battle Quests done for today. Completed Level 23 - Wyrmgear, Cursed Effigy the Tormented (twice) and The Gate Keeper. An easy day.
Ooooh I see that they have just added a new scroll for the challenger :D
SPOILER (click to toggle)
Judging from the name maybe this time we're going to have a water-related opponent? :D Maybe from Omen Islands? :D I love speculating haha.
- We got menecuda, wouldn't push it past them to give us a red tide blood shark lol.
- Yeah, I do that all the time... but TIME! Aint nobody got time for that while doing BQs! Or during limited time event battles!
- oh I agree on the time part, you just confused me when talking about sP cost. And, for what it's worth, I also always try to end a battle on full health - just because it feels "right" somehow to me. And I get frustrated with myself when I misjudge too. :-)
- oh no! Just w:hat I need - more water attack/defense I don't have yet, lol. :-) I am seriously so weak there, I might just have to consider actually buying this challenger (assuming I can beat it, of course). Whatever I wind up deciding, hope you all have fun playing with the about to be newest battle opponent.
Lol OMG XD Now you make me curious about what species the new opponent will belong to. Somehow I can't still figure out Menecuda's species. Is he supposed to be an animal at all or just a creature?
I think the scroll is the opponent's weapon, but I'm with you in wanting more water-based defensive scroll options. So far only Santuria blocks any decent chunk of water icons.
Looks like is going down the list of planned changes. I think the BAs have implemented the curse changes. This one is next on the list:
I imagine this would make a good challenge for T13 and capped pets. I just hope pets at T12 and below could have as few of these as possible 😂 Now we're struggling enough with the freezing, feature-disabling curses and the RNG stealing 😅
- aaaaggghhh - my T3, T5 and T8 all cower under poor T9 Tos as she runs looking frantically for the nearest shelter ...
(sigh) isn't my life hard enough with Surge still around - do I need evolving opponents too???
Sure hope this is not just long term, but also just very high tier (or the evolution isn't too drastic). :-)
Just imagine all the what ifs when Surge evolves :O I wouldn't be able to handle it!
I think the evolving feature will tie neatly with the 'Loot beyond 10 wins' change (which is last on 's list. If GE is to drop his Psycho Smasher as random loot after reset I won't be surprised if he is made to evolve (well it's not as if he wasn't smart/ evil/ cunning (?) enough with all his healing, freezing, stealing and crit-hitting 😅 ). The scroll is quite good and well-rounded (defense, offense and high freeze chance all packed in one - I can't ask for better!) so it makes sense that they'll try to restrict how many are going to be generated.
Only our pets won't be happy 😂 haha.
- maybe fun for those with capped and high tier pets. And I understand you don't want tons of Psycho Smashers running around (although it sort of seems to me that those with high enough AP to use tons of them already have them). So I think there might be a trade off here. You have talked with me about making battling more accessible and making more rare but needed items (or making them even harder to get for those who don't already have them) is going to be at least somewhat counterproductive in that endeavor. That said, it's a very tough balancing act with lots of battlers and pets to think about and I've been really impressed by the improvements made so far, so let's wait and see what shows up. Any change can be tough, but if any real problems turn up, I'm confident that some sort of further tweaks will be made to deal with them. Meanwhile, the computer geek in me really wants to know how the code works now! :-)
