and yes indeed! one minor change i noticed (not sure when it was implemented but anyways) when doing bqs is that after clicking the button on the reward page, it brings you to the next challenger already instead of the main bq page. it's a small change but it's a little more convenient and i like it haha.

yep! i still check sub everyday so i was in time for the event. once i reached the 5 mil dmg mark i stopped cause lazy LOL. same... i have ME already so idk what to do with the core haha

Yeah you are not blocking enough of the damage he deals with those weapons, try changing your set up to this:

or , , scientist specs, Phoenix quill, recycle blaster, ultimaplus tag, and reborn ice wand. You may have to switch between the flail and the Icewand if you are not getting enough healing from the flail. Again the best options for him are the trident and tower shield, but I don't know what your budget is like.

You will want as many cobalt eternal as you can carry with the two shriek scrolls. The Cobalts will block most of the damage so you can hit him with your hardest hitting weapons at that point. Use them after you run out shriek. Save one shriek in case your blessing drops or doesn't activate at the beginning of the battle. You will need to pay attention to when he uses his collars of slavery and death shards. Use the tempered shield as needed. It's much more reliable than the breastplate and activates parched when broken. The aftershocks scroll is the best infinite use scroll for him. I'm not too familiar with soothing current but I don't think it has the right block, if any.

I have not tried to trident...I don't have one (is it useful for other opponents?) Haneul is tier 10.

I do have the Forj Tempered Shield, but not the other items you mentioned (The turkey quill and the shards).

- thanks for the reminder about TBT. They are still on my list since the Gelatin War took up my battling time for a while there. :-)

- for what it's worth, Blessed Trident is useful a LOT- it's one of my default weapons and I see other battlers using theirs all the time (in fact that's why I was willing to pay so much to buy one - it cost me about 6 months to 1 year of my average Subeta earnings and I have never even slightly regretted the purchase).

The Turkey Quill is a Millionaire Center item (but less than 7 million sP - not too expensive as battle equipment goes :-) )

The shards are one use items like potions. There are ones for different icons and also life and death and they can be purchased very inexpensively. You equip and use them just like a potion (and they take the potion slot for that turn of the battle).

I haven't actually fought The Gate Keeper outside of BQs (which is what we were discussing at the time), so I have only gone against his base stats, but I knew you would get lots of help here.

Just hang in there and keep trying. You can do it! It often takes several losses to get your five (or ten) wins. Especially as you are learning new challengers or new strategies. And you'll also be surprised how much the right battle set can sometimes help!

By the way, Soothing Current is a straight 8 percent infinite heal - no block or attack. I used it as a healer until I got Aftershocks. :-)

- welcome to Subeta and the Battle Chat thread. There's a lot to learn but everyone here is really great at being encouraging and supportive. Just take it a little at a time and you'll be amazed how fast you and Brandine will grow. I recently started a brand new baby battler and have been exploring low tier weapons. (My main battler has made it to T9 so far.) So please let me know if I can ever be helpful.

Saw you post that you read a tome to Brandine to gain stats. Hopefully, you actually used a tome on Brandine. If you read it, then it just acts like any other book, rather than like a stat booster, which, from seeing other battlers accidentally do that, I have learned can be an expensive mistake. Also, I suggest that while Brandine is still really small, you consider saving the stat boosters you get for when training takes longer and gets more expensive. Right now, if you have the patience, it's really easy to gain stats by training and doing BQs.

- hi! I've been taking a post Gelatin War break so just saw your post. Welcome back - hope you were very pleased with your Gelatin War results. By the way, if you have any smaller battle pets, the core can be a useful T9 weapon.

- I still need to fight those TBT guys as well. I was planning to get it done, and then all those silly gelatins showed up. :-)

I concur everyone's recommendation of the Trident. You'll find it useful for quite many BQ challengers actually, namely Mornrise, Crithbolcan, Unstable Snow Fairy, Chase and Malerias Familiar later on.

However, I think I must put a warning out there that I've noticed quite a few people who have been overpaying for their Trident recently due to their inexperience with battling. If you ever decide to invest in one, I'd recommend consulting threads in the Price Check forum for Trident and other battle-related items: Price on Blessed Trident of the Banished One Help! Price of Battle Items and More Wearables! so that you won't have to pay more than you should for any high-end weapons. If, however, after this you still want to pay extra sP to get Trident, then it's up to you and you'll still make an informed decision.

It's true that many battlers are very fond of Trident and would recommend it to others who are new to battling (I also belong to this camp). However, if you decide to invest in a Trident and while you're saving for it, there are always alternatives at certain tiers that, though might not work as well, still can get the job done (I actually didn't get my Trident until after I reached T11, so you can survive without it for the time being if budget is what concerns you).
