Half way through the week.
You Won! You have defeated Crawbeast Kuuipo earned 3500 EXP Points!

No bonus from jobs. Junk from Shinwa. 2 amulets from Quentin.
-tosses into vault- Mmm soon, soon, soon to battle!
You Won! You have defeated Prodigy Verdugo earned 3500 EXP Points!
BQs done
Battle Quests done for today. Finished Level 22 - Wyrmgear, Mornrise Serpent and The Gate Keeper. Relatively easy today so I was either lucky or my new weapons/mods are helping (or both :-) )
- you're up. Good luck!
So proud of myself - I figured out that STS = Shinwa's Temple Shard and RV = Reviver of the Lion. I guess AON is sort of an upgraded STS that might last more than a single round. I have an STS on long term loan from and have Reviver of the Lion on my long list of need to buy eventually.
And, by the way
So glad to see that Oranos has earned his name I don't know how I could talk about him if he lost it. :-) Congratulations on his win against General Error.
You should be able to get TBT wins with your new pets this month, especially if you do all the battling that she can do and spend the EXP. Good luck! (RV = rainbow vortex which is another full blocker) Congrats on getting the AoN! It's a full blocker that might last more than one round. Having STS, RV, and AoN is great in battles like Major Drills and Cursed Effigy where you can't heal or freeze!
AAAAAAATGH! The wait is KILLING me!
Oops that's what I meant. Choosing boxes from the hustler, not the trash. RV = rainbow vortex but close! The reviver is definitely worth buying. Both the pquill and reviver don't take up healer slots so you can equip both when battling.
There are weapons that are definitely good for a default set to get you through BQs daily. It used to be PBB and the trident for me. Most enemies deal dark damage and fire damage so having an ME, natasha or pbow always helps. Since I don't have ME I use comet flash for opponents like malerias familiar. I use PBB and sierrac flail for crawbeast. The flail is temporary until I can win my own MW. OHS is good for a lot of challengers that either do earth damage, steal, or both. It's really useful against chase. Unstable snowfairy, ice king and crithbolcan all do a lot of ice damage so the unstable syringe is really nice for them. It's also good for slaglord that deals magma damage. That leaves prodigy and flamagia for impossible BQ challengers. Both do fire damage but prodigy also does a lot of water and dark. I use the flail to block some of the water damage. It doesn't block nearly enough but I also have natasha that blocks out all of his fire. The flail also has a chance to freeze so that gives me an opportunity to chain freeze and recover some health if I need to. Fatal fire scrolls and cobalt scrolls are good for prodigy unless you want to try and chain freeze him to win. Not all opponents can be frozen though so it's not good to rely heavily on chain freezing. There's also someone like prak who can be chain frozen but I don't have nearly enough AP or freezing scrolls to freeze him for the entire battle. He has around 97K HP now so I have to chip away at his health before I can chain freeze him to death.
Haha he wouldn't lose it. I will just no longer refer to him as "second battle pet." GE used to be one of the hardest challengers to beat back in the day. Him and saggi were milestones for Verdugo so the fact that Oranos was able to beat one is really nice :D
- yes, of course RV is Rainbow Vortex! (I know Rainbow Vortex, there's a book about it so I learned that one very early on.) And Reviver of the Lion would be RoL (no L in RV). That's what happens when you get too excited and try to speak a new foreign language (battle) when you're tired and getting ready to log off. :-) Also Reviver makes me think of RV when I say it and I am used to thinking of "a healer and a blocker".
Great suggestion! I've been wondering now that 81 has a few stats whether she could start battling, but hadn't thought about EXP yet. I do have some of those pesky eggs and am planning to collect as many as I can to give her too.
And thank you. I'm thinking of the AoN as an upgraded STS that (might) last for more than one round. And will definitely be using it for Cursed Effigy who I see all the time in Battle Quests. (Although I'm actually starting to do really well against Cursed Effigy the Tormented using Blunderbuss plus Shinwas Short Sword. Still a clutch full blocker is very helpful.)
Yes, I have a pquill in my default set (my first major battle purchase) long ago, and I have borrowed a Reviver of the Lion once or twice. I love any non-healer slot healer I can get into my weapon set. Including the trident which adds healing with it's attack. Smaller healing I know, but every little hp helps and i have to do damage somehow if i want to ever win a battle. :-) )
Oooh - another foreign language quiz. :-) Fairly easy this time. ME = Maniacal Essence and MW = Manifesting Weapon (strange beast), they've recently been discussed in this thread. PBB = Paintbrush Blades and OHS = Ornamental Hook Swords. More great advice that I've added to my growing file so I can find it when I think about new weapons/scrolls or grow to face a new BQ challenger.
I was mostly kidding about the chain freezing. I know there is no real fun in just chain freezing everyone, or for that matter in just full blocking every round - I suspect that's why the AoN is semi-breakable so you can use it but don't know for how long. There needs to be some challenge or there's no pleasure in success.
Good to know you will let Oranos keep his beautiful name. And I'm glad he is no longer "second battle pet". I can understand how exciting it must be to beat a former milestone nemesis! Congrats again to you and Oranos.
I do actually have a magma blocker since Shinwas Short Sword blocks 75 magma even for T9 (my one major blocker until I hit T10). Of course, no regular healing, but there is that nice blessing. :-)
As for the Hustler, he never gives me anything amazing either. But at least he has something almost every day (unlike trying to find what I want [or anything] at BHH from my friend/enemy The Gate Keeper :-) ).
AoN was my first really big purchase. I bought it for 100 mil sP about 8 years ago. Back then it reflected all icons once per battle. It was the most amazing thing for battling opponents that would otherwise be out of your league!(Of course back then, all of the godly weapons sucked :P )
Doing a little reading to boost that 81's AP would hurt with getting those wins either!
- oooh - interesting info about AoN. Reflecting all icons - that would be fun! I'm still very happy with what it does now though. I like the idea of having a chance to use it multiple times.
Always a special place for the first big purchase - mine was Phoenix Quill and it made an enormous difference when I first got it.
Yes, I just finished getting Gulp (my T5 previously baby battler and star weapon winner) enough AP so that she can use Aftershocks, so now the new goal is to do the same for 81. If I want her AP up in time for the TBT challengers I'll probably have to dedicate some time just to reading. (Usually I just read whatever comes up while questing or doing other activities.) But that's okay. 81 has a few intelligence points from Mystic Spindle so just 226 books to go for Aftershocks. Might be able to do that just by restocking. :-)
I think it's Blue Sky vending that gives out books also. I haven't done any vending in a while. It used to be a good way to get books but vending was nerfed a while back so I'm not sure anymore.
*RotL you dropped the t xp I just call it reviver tbh. Sometimes when you abbreviate everything it gets super confusing. Like I never call ostaff "OSoE" or kwand "KUFWoD"
My default set for my smaller pets is a freezing weapon, two healers, two full blockers, the shrine of apollina and infinite use weapons since they can't use blasters yet. Oranos has 2 infinite weapons, one guaranteed freezer, two blasters, two healers and RV. For opponents you can't freeze I swap out the freezer for STS. For opponents where healing is disabled, I swap in STS and either a third weapon or forj shield.
Yes to all! Good job deciphering :D
Oh no, don't get me wrong and I use it a lot. The strategy doesn't always work though on opponents with a ridiculous amount of health or those with high freeze protection. And it won't work at all for opponents where freezing is disabled. It's good to have a scroll set for opponents that can't be frozen.
Shinwas ss is great for the forj opponent where only water can damage her. I have one in my armory as well but rarely use it now that I don't have to beat the forj 70 times and verdugo can already use the syringe.
Getting to 5 wins on each of them was a big accomplishment so it will be rough but I think he can do it or come close by T9.
- picky, picky :-) Okay RotL it is. I think it's super confusing already - that's why I'm so pleased that I'm starting to actually understand it. :-) Ooooh - I actually really like KUFWoD - we should definitely always use that! :-) But how do we pronounce it - something like kuffwad? :-) Sounds so common for the haughty Keiths Ultimate Freezewand of Doom, lol.
Ah yes, I remember using the shrine. Its still in my armory so 81 can get some use out of it. I guess it doesn't make much sense to blast anything when the challengers you're facing have weapons that don't do all that much more damage than the Recycled Wad anyway. :-) Yep, I've already learned to swap in a full blocker or an extra shield when I can't heal or freeze.
Is there a freezer for T1 or T2? Icy Freezing Rod of Doom is T3.
I understand. I have no qualms about chain freezing wherever and whenever I can manage it. But that's partly because thee is an element of chance - if you could really just chain freeze 100% forever it wouldn't be much fun. And yes, it's really good to have a scroll set. Something on my list to try to get to. I was actually expecting to work on scrolls first, but the trident was simply too tempting to pass up. :-)
I'm actually getting a lot of use out of Shinwas Short Sword (thank you again ) - even more than the core, and I use both of them together whenever I can manage to skip the healing (and, of course, if the opponent isn't blocking dark). With the trident and gutting knife backing them up I have a much better starting base than just a few months ago. And I'm still working to make the helmet (I have 27 EH tokens so far.) Plus an RE (or is that RoE) seems to have wandered into my armory during a discussion last night (thank you ).
I am completely convinced that Oranos can and will do anything you think he can do! You are both amazing - and Verdugo as well. And I much appreciate your pushing me to work harder and try to keep up - well, actually try to keep not too far behind. :-) I have been thoroughly enjoying all of it!
You Won!
You have defeated Ice King 76 times!
Alex the Great Dragon earned 30 EXP Points!

I'm so thankful that the Kwand isn't called KUFWad (Oops, intentional misspelling :P ) Of course it's RotL, for Ring of the Lost! (flashback to yellow site)
Haha I'm glad it's not called kufwad either.
Yeah the extra heal and block from the shrine is really nice for T4 and below. I only have enough weapons to battle at T3 so I don't start to battle with my pets until they are T3.
The rapier of error? RoE I suppose, I don't talk about that one a lot. I prefer the flail for the heal. I am super jelly you have a core! I had the chance to buy one years ago for 99 mil but I bought it for my friend instead huge sigh
The guys I am having him fight now are not easy, that's for sure, and it's only going to get harder from there. It will be nice once he can start beating opponents that give good loot drops. I will be able to get myself another gotf scroll :D
You Won! You have defeated Mama Mush Cynde earned 1200 EXP Points!
Well that is great, we can get through half of BQs!
I really need a better weapon for tier 5 with a heal. Any suggestions guys? I have trident and Knocker. (though can't use them together)
T5 AND with a heal? You ask for too much! :p I don't think there is anything out there that is T5 with a heal. The knocker is your best bet. I also used the Forj Tempered Kusarigama. There is also the machete but it's not worth the price. Most of my healing came from scrolls at T5
Been trying but all I can get from a heal is like 5565hp back with Trident and an Aftershocks scroll.
Ah well. I will make due and work on getting a RIWoD when tier 6 comes up.
- Kufwad Kufwad - new battle chant? :-) Now we need some sort of barbarians (plot maybe?) to use it.
- ah I see. I spent much time on the yellow site, but no battling there so I missed that. :-)
- Ooooooh - the trident can be transformed and used as a T5 weapon with a 5% heal. (I'm assuming you lose mods when you transform it? Still, good to know in a pinch) I'm afraid the best healer I can remember for T5 is still the Malevolent Grimfruit. Only 40 hp per turn. But you can use a Phoenix Quill and a Reviver of the Lion if you have them (and the slots). There is also the UltimaPlus Tag which has a 25% heal (but once per battle) as well as chances to freeze or steal and some attack, and the Shrine of Apollonia which heals a bit over several turns. If you find something exciting, please let me know because Gulp is not T5 and I can't completely remember what to use for her.
The wait has finally ended. Welcome back to BQs!
- not all that much heal for the flail below 2000 speed, still every hp counts. As far as the core, you are still more than welcome to borrow it. Gulp may not have the accomplishments of Oranos or Verdugo (or even Tos) but she is the main weapon earner of this family so far. :-)
True, it just keeps getting harder all the way. Another GoTF, I would kill for one GoTF ... oh wait ... that's exactly what you have to do to get it. :-) The way you and Oranos are going that new GoTF will be yours before you know it.
