If you want one of the new strains then I think you'll have to pick one of those specifically instead of the random option. We can help you choose the right thing for what you want when it starts if you want, but there should be something that says 2017 and has a list of 4-5 descriptions to choose from. Those would be the new ones for this year, so you can pick one of those you think might be interesting.
I've never heard of mango worms and I'm not sure that I want to. :x
Thank you, Rah. I now have a new nightmare. Thank you so much...
Oh gotcha. I think I understand now. Just a waiting game now. It will probably start as I am cooking or busy with something else, lol.
Actually, if I remember correctly, last year they had the option of picking a new strain for a slightly delayed infection or picking a random new strain for instant infection. There was a glitch that caused the infections to not show up on the avatars when they should have, so a lot of people who picked random new ended up basically starting at stage two when everyone else was at stage one (I think).

It is a bit confusing, and hard to explain without being able to see the "choose your infection" page. It should be clearer once the event starts though.
At least it will still be here when you get back from doing other things. 😊
Yeah, I think I remember something like that. It still ended up okay in the end though.
One of the main differences is that older strains have to be bitten to be activated (unless you choose the random instant), while the new ones just show up after a while since no one has them yet to bite with.
Looks like the new items might've stopped being added. Which means they might be initializing the strains and/or opening up the shops.
So excited!
[edit] Spoke too soon! Forgot about the flowers!
SAME THOUGHTS HERE!!!! XD
And please start NOW, because I want to pick a strain before bonita kicks me off the computer ;)

July group!
Yeeeeah botflies are pretty creepy. I've never seen them in person but I've seen them on animal/vet shows. I didn't realize that they could kill the host! Yikes what a way to go D:

I believe in the world of Howler Monkeys, the botflies aren't the primary cause of death. They get the infestation, and the botflies leave gaping holes all over the bodies, which are obviously very prone to fatal infection. And when I say gaping, I mean massive. Also it's incredibly painful. Also they can infect humans. We had a tour guide who had them once and she said it was one of the most painful things she's experienced.
well that was an instant regret to look up asdfg

ooooh that makes sense! On one of the shows that I saw them, the vet said that they didn't harm the host which is only very technically true XD Like saying that bullets don't kill you, it's the huge holes they rip through you that do it...

It's starting. We'll be getting the news update soon. The item directory is filled with new items.
