Your trap springs and you spray like mad as the lizard minions escape. They will not get away this time! You place Fire Wand into your inventory.

I am having terrible luck with amulets lately, anyone else with the same issue? I tend to have 1 or even no tomes when I turn in 20 to 30 amulets for a couple of days now :(

YEP! You don't need to use those weapons -- it's just an example of what is in my set currently. The idea is to hit hard and fast and get through bqs ASAP. Chalk up another reason to train speed. Those one-hits are easier to get when you crit! ;)

Speed is only a direct on/off switch for opponent crits, you still have a higher chance to crit (if you meet the damage threshold) with higher speed but still less than your opponent. The chance then caps out at 1 speed over your opponent.

That being said, I found that with near 0 speed, but crit mods and obviously higher str possibility, I was meeting the threshold every turn really, and critting/double critting a respectable, but not often, amount against bosses. Even with that though, my next up and coming is definitely going to be high speed and str to maximize damage for bosses. I think Horn is probably my best overall pet vs regular challengers, Enchiridion is best vs anything up to his speed, and my next will probably scrape by against the likes of paramnesia RB. There can definitely be different best builds for different opponents and speed can be included in there. I'd even say different best builds for different weapon sets against the same opponent with comparable results.

I train speed so I can have x4 crit hit damage. That paired with high strength, and I'm looking to do something like 30k+ damage in one turn. For something like event challengers, I think it will come super handy and it's just fun to smack something as hard as you can lol

I am not thinking about 5 either lol

That's a good point about the community challengers and such, getting more damage in with fewer losses is definitely nice.

At least we only get like one or two of those per year. I would guess that for most of the regular challengers once you get to the higher end of tier 12 and into tier 13, it's relatively easy to take them down with a decent weapon set.

I'm still pretty far off from that though, so critical hits are still pretty helpful when I do get them.

Used 900 amulets last night, and got 157 tomes. Which is bang on what I'd expect, usually around 1 in 6. I find some amulets are more likely to give you a tome though...

Speed also makes challengers like prodigy and the mage less annoying -.-' I can take them down now with low speed, but I have to make adjustments to my set accordingly. Once you are mid T13, there's really not anyone you can't beat but being able to do a lot of damage can be a big advantage.

And I guess for that one cash shop challenger that has like 60k health to start with. How high does it get up to after 5 wins or so? That guy seems pretty annoying just for how many turns it would take.

Which CS challenger? You have Baenwurath that starts with 75k health and Prakherash that has 65k health. So far I have 5 wins on Prak and I stopped for a while since he now has over 100k health

Lol well both of them I guess. I was referring to Prakherash, but I don't have the other one unlocked so I didn't realize about that one. ;~;

So much clicking for both of them though, probably. 100k for a regular challenger is a lot.

Yeah the worst is if you lose and have to start all over again T-T I'm going to wait until I hit my stat goals before I go after the annoying ones again. I know I could get to 10 wins on them now but the mores stats you have the easier it gets and I am in no rush.

Do you guys spend or save your exp? I kinda wanna save them and boost a bunch at once, but then again I can't help myself from spending all of it daily lol

Yeah at least they're not going anywhere, so plenty of time to beat them later once it's easier.

The only challengers I try to beat quickly are event challengers and the throwback ones, just so that I don't forget. Otherwise I'm more concerned about training and I'll beat more challengers when I get around to it.

I usually spend mine daily because I like the instant gratification of seeing my pet's stats go up right away. :P

Forgetting about them for a while and then having a bunch to boost with might be nice too though. Hmm...

I am pretty sure that when you are below the opponents speed, you have a 10% flat chance to crit hit the opponent

The way I tested this being to adopt a bunch of junk pets and run them up against slaglord (speed=10) with slightly different stats.

Nothing I did seemed to change the ~10% rate.
