- yes, it looks like (except for who, I think, had a mid Tier 9 and an amazing set of weapons/scrolls, the seven headed hydra is too tough for a new T9. Would have really liked to manage to win at least one of the book and plushie. Oh well, hopefully, they'll be back again next year with another chance at the same loot drops.

I just got one win with my T8 on the 7-headed hydra. It takes the right weapons, scrolls, strategy and some luck

Okay - battle quests done for today. Now to beat the first three hydras with Tos (my T9(. Tharg and Gulp have probably gone as far as they can.

If I only wanted a single win, I might try it, but I would need to get to five and so far, except for all the T9 challengers have given up well before that. (And she is much better armed than I was and also possible mid tier whereas Tos just got there.) I would do it if there were a reasonable chance for me to get the loot drop, even if I had to take a pile of losses to get there, but don't think I have the AP or weapons to make it worth while trading in the medal to unlock the challenger. (Remembering that I don't have a bigger pet that will actually get those wins.)

- go for it - I can't wait to hear your results. Tos, Tharg, Gulp and I are all cheering for you. (But I have to say, the way you put it has me laughing because it made me think about this - "How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood." Not completely sure exactly why, something about the rhythm I think. In any case, probably an appropriate verse for Elwood Day because of all the wood. :-) ) It's either that, or the start of one of those logic puzzles. :-)

Okay - done (for now) with TBT and hydras and back to some real life stuff for a while.

It was sooo much easier fighting that five-headed hyrda with Tos after having first gotten ten wins with Tharg. :-) (I like to get the hard parts out of the way first wherever possible.)

Nice work, Bud! I didn't realize the 7 headed hydra wasn't the last opponent, actually had the medal in my shop since there wasn't an achievement for anthing higher, fighting 11 heads now, 3 wins to go. Weird the 1st win was actually a lot harder than the second

Revenge! Ok, I'm done with this one for now, that took me quite enough losses. I really need to work on my armory :/ I used the Trident, Possessed Bow, Volatile Energized Mecha, Intricate Energized Helmet, Soma Tablets, Phoenix Quill, STS and RV for the first 4 wins. Then that set just didn't cut it anymore, and even though the Tridents blessing saved my butt during wins 3 and 4, I swapped it out for the Swashbuckle and swapped the RV for the Recycle Blaster. All the while spamming the Aftershocks scroll.

He's not so bad if you have the right weapons and a T13 pet. Glad to hear he's not giving you a hard time and you discovered you still needed to fight him before masq ended.

Oh noes D: congrats on your win! That took tremendous effort! Do you have OHS you could borrow and cronus? Those two really helped. Blasting the raging inferno is also a life saver. That's what boosts his strength. I would use stuff like the mecha, regenerating pylonic and Cronus that boosts your stats.

He is one tough hydra. Congrats on your wins! I believe in you!

Anyone have some advice for beating the 8-Headed Panzer Hydra? I made it past the other 4 but I'm having a bit of trouble squashing this last one. My Apheros is T12 and has the following set:

Trident, Malignant Rift Staff, Paintbrush Blades, Rapier of Error, Reviver Of The Lion, Phoenix Quill, Deluxe Death Shard, Soma Tablets

Scrolls: Terra Focujin, Gelaspell, Shriek of Despair 4x, Morosbane 2x Also have: Cobalt Eternal 4x.
