"I thought it looked kinda cool. They trim the 'orn and powder that. It keeps growin' like finger nails do," he remarked before retrieving an apple for Millie to her to feed a foal. He smiled at Fade. "You're doin' fine, mate. Really soft, ain't they?" Since Katsumi provided Fade with apple slices Magnus just smiled again. "Give 'er a slice," he coaxed. He watched as Paddy gained confidence. He was glad because he planned to make sure she petted one as well.
((Totally couldn't find any information on how unicorn horns are obtained but since it is not supposed to hurt the unicorn or kill them I picked the idea I had lol))
"I would hate for them to hurt the unicorns. I know I would feel horrible if someone harmed a unicorn for it's hair to make my wand." Millie said sadly. "I'm sure they know of a way to groom them without hurting them, similar to horse hair to make bows for string instruments".
Aderyn watched as Emmy fed the unicorn an apple, mentioning horses.
"Muggles ride horses, don't they?" Aderyn asked. "Sounds a bit scary for me. Although really, it can't be much worse than flying on a broomstick, I'm sure..."
Emmy chuckled as Aderyn looked apprehensive at the idea of riding a horse.
"Of course we can ride horses, don't you remember me riding my family's horses back home?" Emmy asked, laughing. "I think once when we were smaller I wanted you to try, but you thought they were a bit scary."
"Its fun and not scary at all! Okay, maybe a bit at first," she admitted, remembering her first few rides, "but only because they're beautiful, powerful animals. Once you get used to, its really fun!"
Emmy went back to stroking the unicorn's cheek, now that it had finished eating the apple, smiling at Aderyn.

Aderyn pondered Emmy's words, thinking back several years to when they were little. She did have some vague recollection of an offer to ride a horse once, but Emmy was right - being too scared to do so sounded just like her. She nodded.
"I do remember your family having horses, of course," Aderyn replied. "I just don't recall ever seeing you ride one. My memory's spotty at best, though, you know that!"
Paddy had wondered how Unicorn Horn was obtained, after her Uncle had mentioned its usefulness in potions, but hadn't liked to ask. Tickling the fawn on the side of its head, she handed it another slice of apple and grinned as it took the slice from her paw and munched away happily.

Coming into contact with one of the magical creatures he had dreamed about long before he ever knew magic could be real was causing Fade to lose track of time. He couldn’t tell how long he had been standing there staring at the radiant equine, and when he snapped out of it he felt sort of embarrassed. Suddenly a cool sensation in his palm made him realize that he was holding a few apple slices. Looking up he guessed Katsumi, () the closest person in proximity, had shared her slices with him. “Hey, thanks.” He muttered still entranced by the magical creature standing in front of him.
Holding his palm out flat he set a slice on top and held it toward the mare. “Would you like some more? Don’t eat too much.” He cooed at the mare and thought that he was starting to sound like his own mother. It was hard to look away, and even harder to come to grips with the fact that in an hour or so the unicorns would have to be returned to their caretaker and Fade wouldn’t be able to fawn over them anymore. But until that time he decided to soak up as much of the moment as possible.
Catching the last of the conversation Fade perked up. “I heard that the horns will shed seasonally. But I think it depends on the exact species. Some are similar to deer in that way. The outer layers can be rubbed off to reveal the new growth underneath.” It wasn’t like he had gone out of his way to research the creatures on his own at any point in time…
((I made that part up as well, but it sounds legit to me soooo yeah X3))
Sauvage wandered in to the meeting place, seeing everyone already at work or chatting away. "Is it too late to join the club?" she said, half-joking, half-worried, to no one in particular. She quietly walked around and observed those around her until she found what looked to be the sign-up sheet. Following suit with those before her she wrote:
Name: Sauvage Chevaux Pet: A Nothern Saw-Whet owl named Hermes Club interest: Winged horses
"Don't worry," he said to Millie, "they aren't 'urt at all." Silently he hoped Gaia returned so as not to miss the unicorns, though she did have wild ones near her house. Magnus nodded, "Yeah, some species do shed." He was glad Fade knew that. He had prepared but it seems he wasn't as prepared as he thought he was. Next animal he would do a lot more research. Still everyone did seem to be enjoying the unicorns. He glanced over at the new comer. Smiling and handing her an apple he said, "'Llo! I'm Magnus Lee, captain this term. Welcome! Come an' pet one of the foals or the adult unicorn."
"Oh that's good. It always thought they got the hair the same way some get horse hair." Millie picked up an apple and let one of the foals eat it from her hand. "I would love to live somewhere there are wild unicorns".
Sauvage couldn't stop herself from smiling uncontrollably - it was all she cold do to keep from laughing aloud. Unicorns seemed to have that effect, she'd noticed. Slowly, she walked towards the adult unicorn who seemed to be getting a bit less attention than the foals. Mindful of the unicorn's golden hooves, Sauvage gently displayed her hand to the adult and waited until she placed her muzzle into Sauvage's hand. Sauvage was aware of the conversation going on around her, and she hated to be anti-social, but she so easily got lost in her own world when surrounded by these majestic creatures. And so, she stayed where she was, petting the adult unicorn and occasionally offering her some apple, while listening to everyone else ask and answer questions.
Beth couldn't believe she was late to the Care of Magical Creatures club meeting. She had lost track of time while reading her favorite book by the Quidditch pitch. "I'm sorry I'm late," she told Magnus ().
Beth grabbed the sign up sheet and a quill from her bag.
Name: Beth Hale Pet: Moony the Griffin Club interest: Werewolves, Griffins, Hypogriffs
She waved hello to her fellow classmates.
"That'd be pretty cool," he said to Millie. Sauvage got settled petting the unicorn and feeding it apples when Beth arrived. "No worries," he said brightly, "way I see it, you aint late, you're early for the next meetin'." He laughed and handed her an apple. "Got the foals 'ere," he said pointing to the four golden infant unicorns, "and their mum right there, pointing to the mare. "Feel free ta pet an' feed 'em. Ask me any questions if ya got one. I shall do me best ta answer."
"Of course," the girl told Fade, a hint of a smile at the other Ravenclaw's entranced expression. He did seem fond of the gentle creatures. And the information about the unicorns' horns was interesting. She'd never quite been sure how wizards harvested it without hurting them. She wondered idly how wandmakers had discovered that unicorn hair could work in a wand. Experimentation, probably. Katsumi knew Ollivander used unicorn hair, as well as dragon heartstring and phoenix feathers, for his wands, and he made the very best ones. How did you tell, though, when the wand chooses the wizard? Maybe that was just what worked best for him, unless he'd had others test the wands he made as well.
The second year pondered the question, completely sidetracked from the unicorns.
The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation. My CW shop, and my ping group
((OOC: okay my lovelies, I was given some sage advice that I might drive myself bonkers quickly with having one animal every week. As well as so many of us have crazy schedules... so to make it easier on all of us, and hopefully allow everyone to have enough time to frolic with the given animal, we are gonna go with a 2 week time span for each animal--unless there's some kind of issue, like site down time or sick captain and so on.
This being said, frolic with the unicorns folks, ya all got another week now. Werewolf will be on the 21st ;) @ Ambition @ Tardis@ jasmincecilia ))
Aria sat down next to the adult unicorn and started sketching her. Her golden sheen was difficult to capture with only pencil but Aria thought she was managing pretty well.
Dax had moved from the youngest foal to the eldest one and was bouncing around the paddock with him in the cutest fashion.

I really really extremely want:Sauvage slowly came out of her reverie while petting the mare; she noticed someone () trying to sketch the unicorn so she stepped back so as to not disturb the process. While stepping back, Sauvage accidentally bumped into somebody who had been standing right behind her. She whirled around while spouting apologies and found it had been Fade () whom she'd body slammed. She laughed awkwardly and said, "Oh, hey Fade. Funny bumping into you here." As soon as the words came out of her mouth she regretted them - what a lame joke! She was probably blushing with embarrassment at this point, rouge mixing with the freckles that powdered her cheeks. In order to distract she began talking - a bit too quickly and so her French accent began to spill through. "I ave not seen you since the ball. Ow ave you been? Oh, oo is this?" Sauvag nodded at a kind-looking girl () while straining to pronounce the "th" in her words and consequently over-emphasizing them because of that. Fade was one of the first friends she'd made here at Hogwarts and she didn't want to scare him off by being so weird all the time.
Paddy fed the fawn the last slice of apple, still in awe at the way it carefully took it from her paw. She overheard Magnus () explaining that the Unicorns would be there a little while longer, and grinned. She definitely was enjoying being around them, but wasn't overly looking forward to the Werewolf session that was going to come next, given that she'd end up in the hospital wing for three days again. Putting the thought of the full moon out of her head for the moment, she took a piece of parchment from her pocket, and starting trying to draw the fawn. She knew her drawing skills weren't all that great, but a stick-figure unicorn fawn could still look good once she'd figured out the charm to make it so it would keep eating slices of apple.

Give a Hoot: What's in a name? (HOOT CLUb)
Magnus tapped his board and a picture of an owl appeared. "The topic of conversation for our owl enthusiastic people is "What kind of name's to give your feathered friend an' why names are important. Naming an owl is just as important as namin' a child. The name you choose 'elps you bond with your owl as well as identifies 'im or 'er from the other owls. Owls can live anywhere from 8 to 40 years depending on species.
Magnus whistled and his owl flew down from the trees and landed on his shoulder. "I named Vega as it meant swoopin' Eagle in Arabic and she's an Eagle owl. Anyone wanna see her do the Wronski Defensive Feint? I couldn't help but teach 'er it after I saw the 'Olly 'Ead 'Arpies preform it." He whistled again and Vega flew up and then swooped down at a high speed pulling up at the last second and caught the treat Magnus threw.
"So, what kind of things did you take into consideration in naming your owl? Does your owl live up to its name? Tell us some things about your owl and its personality."
Please keep this part of the role play under the spoilers, so it isn't confusing to those not in the Hoot Club.
Magnus crossed over to . "Me Dad said he wants ta 'ave a word with you. Somethin' about taking the next phase of the moon off. 'E'll be 'ere rather early on the 23th as 'e and some co-workers of 'is will be getting all the safety measures complete. Can 'e meet with you at breakfast?"
Hoot Club
Paddy thought for a few minutes, before replying. "Well I didn't actually name my owl myself," she said, "But Mouse does live up to her name, seeing as she excels at catching mice. She's not been trained to do much yet, other than coming when whistled, and delivering the post, but she is a great calming influence on around a full moon." Paddy smiled, waiting for the others to tell everyone about their owls.
Paddy stared at Magnus (), wondering what on earth his Dad was one about, "taking the next phase of the moon off?" she repeated, sounding seriously confused. "Erm yeah, I'll meet him at breakfast."
