Sam blinked at Magnus. "It's hard" she whispered, her voice unusually soft, even for his enhanced wolfish hearing. "Letting people see you for who you really are rather than what they want to see you as. I'd be scared outta my wits" She shook her head, then chuckled. "Bah, never mind silly me. I've got your back if you change your mind about flunking astronomy. I know I certainly have no plans to study divination any farther, myself."
The little snake around her neck reared it's head towards Magnus, forked tongue flicking the air between them. Sam cocked her head listening to the creature's urgent hissing. "Um, Chua thinks I should give you some more space now..., so we'll talk about it later if you want."

Millie nodded and backed up. She turned to the alpaca and began to comfort it. She really wished she had snatched a few more steaks from the kitchen. She wondered if she had time to run up and get a few more but then the group started entering the dungeon. She waved to everyone walking in.

She turned to Beth, "No, you haven't missed anything. My father sent a package with emergency spells and first aid. He also sent a few steaks for Magnus." She stood next to Beth and watched the rest of the club enter.

Paddy listened to Magnus' father and nodded, "if there's some food he prefers, I could always ask Uncle to send that instead. His cousin makes a very nice Cornish Pasty with nicely rare meat. Uncle wanted to help a fellow werewolf you see, as Magnus is doing the class a huge favour in letting them see one at such close range yet in a safe environment."

She took a step back from the cage - not out of fear, but more out of respect for Magnus. She knew only too well how it felt to smell fresh meat as you turned, and Magnus was a more wild werewolf than she was. Come to think of it, did she smell human, or did the locket only changed the appearance and not the scent? There wasn't time to ask Magnus' father as she didn't want to interrupt the preparations.

'Resist the urge to howl' she thought to herself as the moon-rise drew closer, determined to act human (or as closely as she could), even if it meant biting her lip to stop a howl escaping.

Bartley nodded a greeting as yet another girl entered. Mildly he wondered if Hogwarts still had any boys. "I guarantee he will not touch the cake." He wasn't about to give away Magnus' private reasons. If the boy hadn't told her why he doesn't go for cake that was his business. Mostly it was candy that he didn't care for even if he tried to hide it from his parents. "Perhaps you can suggest some Butterbeer, or pork pies if he is determined to send the lad something edible."

Magnus saw Beth enter and wave. He gave a half hearted wave back. He was still unsure how to respond to Sam when he looked up and noticed she moved away. Oh well. It was for the better most likely. He could feel the shifting approaching like a battering ram at a castle door. His club members might have heard him repeat lines from a story he used to read the children at the orphanage. "Little pig, little pig let me in. Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin. Then I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house in."

Aderyn waved back at Beth () as Millie () filled her in a little. She noticed that Sam () was starting to back away from the cage a little towards them and she smiled at the girl.

"It'll be okay. I'm sure everything is under control, and he'll be happy to see you once he's recovered from the transition in a few days."

Summery thus far

Magnus’ Dad and three unspeakables set up the special security measures for the students to remain safe. His Dad, Bartley Lee, also brought a llama for werewolf Magnus to snack on. But since Magnus was unable to stomach the thought Bartley put a spell on the llama making it stay small and giving the “stupid thing” to his son. The draught of peace has worn off and Magnus is starting to get aggressive and is close to the change. He also started quoting lines from the Three Little Pigs.

I will post the transformation and other such things that pertain to the entire group with a spoiler heading. On these posts I will include a summery spoiler as well, to limit everyone being lost. If there’s something I’ve missed in the summery please let me know and I will add that. Hopefully the spoiler tags themselves will help make finding the summaries and important parts easier. Trying to learn how best to do this for everyone.))

Transformation

https://i.imgur.com/M0teTHa.png"> Bartley glanced over at his son, for a brief moment, if anyone was looking they might have seen his eyes shifting white then returning to the light grey. “The shift is coming. Everyone please gather around. If you miss something, you may look over on the screen.” He pointed to a screen that became visible on the wall. “It will replay the transformation if you ask it too. Now, I have a few things that I wish to address. First, think of Magnus and the wolf as two separate beings demanding the use of the same body. What he does near his shift and as a werewolf are completely out of his control. A werewolf is acting on the desire for food, like other hungry wild animals. I wouldn’t classify it as evil either. It is simply a violent beast that is acting on pure instinct. He would kill a loved one and only answer to the call of another werewolf.

“Secondly, shifting is incredibly painful which may disturb some of you. There is no shame in looking away. If he was a normal human, he would die from these transformations. Magnus is physically stronger than a normal human. Also keep in mind the male werewolves are far more aggressive or wild than female werewolves. He might injure himself tonight and those injuries will be addressed as soon as he transforms back. The normal bones that break and re-set are not the problem.

“Finally, for those that do not know, I and my three colleagues are Unspeakables. There are measures of security that you have never heard of or probably will not even see tonight. Rest assured we are also excellent stunners. I would never have agreed to this nor would the school, for that matter, had they not been confident in our ability to keep you all safe. Magnus’ cage has a shield ward around it so he can not touch or bite anyone. It is locked and cannot be unlocked with your simple standard unlocking spell like Alohomora. We are adept at silent spells and will perform them as need throughout the night, at dawn, Magnus will return. After Magnus has transformed you may ask any questions you wish as you observe the werewolf.”

He tapped the floor and the dungeon suddenly shifted to mimic the forbidden forest. The cage Manus was in shimmered and went invisible.
Just as his father did that, Magnus tried to keep his mouth closed as he felt the shift coming. It started with his legs. His jeans ripping to shreds. The bones clearly breaking as they elongated. When the claws ripped through, he screamed his first cry. Tears were running down his cheeks but he could do nothing to stop the pain. His back arched breaking as his spine curled and became more lupine. His blood curdling scream was cut off by his vocal cords snapping and reforming. Even without the sound, it was evident by the look of pain on his face that he was in utter agony. Fur sprouted all over whilst his arms and face shifted. With his mouth shifting fangs appeared. Finally, it was over and the werewolf let out a low, mournful howl. It was a fully grown black werewolf that appeared where Magnus the human had been.

Aderyn watched as Magnus () began to transform, her expression rapt. As the transformation progressed, however, she put a hand up to her mouth, fighting back tears at the look of pure, unadulterated agony on Magnus' face. Her free hand went for her wand, but she had to stop herself - she'd wanted to help Magnus with a spell to soothe the pain but she knew it would do nothing for what he was feeling. She stepped back a little bit, averting her gaze for a few moments before turning her attention back just in time to find a werewolf where Magnus had stood moments before.

"Whoa."

Paddy gathered with the other students and watched as Bartelby changed the appearance of the dungeon to mimic the Forbidden Forest. She knew of course about werewolves being stronger than humans, and that male werewolves were more aggressive, but she bit her lip as she watched Magnus' () transformation - knowing the pain he was going through was bad enough, but she hadn't anticipated it being so hard to watch from a human perspective.

'Do I look like that as I change' she wondered, wincing as he finally turned into his werewolf form. She was surprised at his fur colour as well, given that her father, uncle and herself were all brown werewolves - she realised it was pretty silly of her to assume that was the only fur colour, but brown wolves were all she'd known up to now.

Looking round, she wondered if anyone had turned away - she couldn't blame them if they did, as that felt almost as bad to watch, as it did to transform, in a strange kind of way.

Katsumi listened carefully to Mr. Bartley's speech. She made a mental note to ask him what spell the screen used. It reminded her of a video recorder, but relying on magic, and not many spells came that close to the efforts of technology. But that would be later. The idea of a werewolf being two creatures using the same body was an interesting perspective, but she could see the reasoning behind it. She wondered idly what security measures were in place, but knew better than to ask that.

She inhaled sharply as Magnus began to change, and slipped her hand in her pocket, though she didn't pull out her wand, just hold it. The Ravenclaw had done a bit of reading in preparation for the club meeting, and while everything said transforming was unbearably painful, it really didn't prepare her for watching the real thing. It was awful -- more because she knew the boy was in agony than because it looked disgusting. All the same, she refused to look away. Thankfully, the entire process didn't take very long, and Katsumi let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding.

"Ah, Mr. Bartley?" she asked, glancing at the man. "You said Magnus has no control in this form, and it's more like two creatures sharing a body? Does...does that mean he won't remember what happens while he's shifted?" The last thing she wanted to do was ask something that would make her fellow student feel awkward when he remembered it.

Sam watched, as unblinking as her snake, as Magnus transformed. She made no effort to stop the tears that ran down her cheeks as the sounds of his screams of pain failed to cover snapping bones and tearing joints. This was nothing like the smooth change of animagi from wizard to animal. To survive that every full moon.... "Why is the change so traumatic for him, when an animagus can change to an animal at will, with hardly any pain at all?" she asked, her voice shaking.

Breathlessly Fade rounded the corner of dungeon number seven, clutching his sketch book to his heaving chest as he tried to stop his heart from racing. Like Sam, (()) he had gotten into sound trouble with his polyjuice potion and had only just now managed to shake off the remaining effects. Showing up to a werewolf transformation party when you looked like a bunny was probably in poor taste.

“Sorry I’m…” his apology trailed off as he took in the sight of a monstrous cage in the back of the room with his friend locked inside. Putting on a brave face he approached Mr.Lee. (()) “Hey Magnus.” He called over. “I didn’t miss anything did I?” He looked up at Bartley who easily towered above all the students in the room. “Why is there a llama?” He shivered to think they would be witnessing Magnus eating the poor creature. Even in the dim light Fade’s hair appeared to still be white, perhaps an effect of the potion from earlier.

The change came soon after. In all his preparedness Fade still found it difficult to watch as his friends pain was evidently written all over the other boys face. Watching in awe Fade completely forgot why he had brought his sketchbook with him and thought it better if maybe he didn’t record this event.

Like many of the other students, Sauvage watched the transformation of Magnus from human to wolf in horrified silence, punctuated by several gasps. A few averted their eyes, but Sauvage's neck felt cemented in place. She bit the inside of her cheek to keep from letting it drop in shock, mostly so as not to make Magnus feel bad but also to seem calmer. Once it was over, Sauvage looked around the room, making eye contact with a few other students ( ), wondering what to do next. The room was steeped in a sobering enlightenment; the kind that one can't help but be a little cautious of.

She closed her eyes and shook her head as he let out a scream. She thought she would be strong enough to watch his transformation, but couldn't bear to watch the rest of it. Magnus was brave, letting everyone see his transformation. She couldn't imagine how much pain and agony Magnus and several others had to go through each month to transform into a werewolf. She opened her eyes once she heard Magnus howl. She was intrigued by Magnus' werewolf form. She'd never been this close to one before.

"An apt word, Aderyn, that sums up many feelings in one," the man said. "You may call me Bart. And yes, that is correct," he replied to Katsumi as he squished Aria's shoulder. "Anything that happens now until he transforms back to human, he will not recall. You may ask me any questions at all. From adopting him, to whatever else you wish and the boy will not know." There was a slightly amused smirk that crossed his face as he ruffled Fade's hair. "It was meant as a snack. I should have known my son would never go for it. Apparently, he now has another pet." His countenance shifted for a second thinking of the pain his son was force to endure. "Sam, I asked that question myself. It is my believe that because the moon forces the beast out, that that is why it is partly so painful. An animagi chooses to change form but still remains who they are at the core. Even if their thoughts are more simplistic or animalistic in nature, the individual is his own. However, for a werewolf that is not the case. The werewolf before us has no thoughts or feelings towards us. He would kill and eat me without another thought because that is what he does."

Speaking of the werewolf, it snarled and started moving. He sniffed the air and smelt fresh meat. Locating the source to be the steaks Millie provided, he slashed the paper with his claws. His jaw clamped around one of the steaks and with a bestial sound shook the meat before he ate it greedily. The second steak went the way of the first steak with in seconds. He licked his lips and sniffed the ground for more. Another snarl escaped his mussel as he discovered no other tasty morsels.

Fade sat in silence. Watching werewolf Magnus eat was somewhat tame in comparison to the transformation that had just taken place. The cracking of bones and what sounded like the tearing of flesh was repeating over and over inside Fade’s head. “Two being in one body…” The idea was intriguing.

Slowly Fade looked down at his hands and realized they were balled into tight fists. Consciously he released them and flexed his palms open a closed. Glancing between his hands and Magnus, Fade started to concentrate. Slowly the tips of his fingers started to grow and sprout what looked like pointy talons from their tips. Animagus transformed too quickly for him to mimic accurately. But having watched the painfully slow metamorphosis of Mangus, Fade was quick to see if he couldn’t use the opportunity to change himself a little as well. His success was short lived. A minute or two after he had grown claws, they shrank back into his regular hand. A guilty feeling like none he had ever felt washed over him as the claws melted away painlessly leaving behind no trace.

Even with all the magic in all the world, it seemed so unfair that anyone would have to be made to endure something so uncomfortable. Perhaps if there was a way to come to accept the change, it would ultimately hurt less. Could someone achieve a symbiotic relationship with their lycanthropy through rigorous meditation? Such speculation was starting to give Fade a headache. The way he saw it, he would be upset too if he were constantly looked at like a violent blood thirsty killing machine. “So, after he’s full, then what happens? Sleep it off?” Fade looked up at Mr.Lee, but the light in his eyes was missing. Maybe the werewolf had hidden attributes that would better outline who he was as an individual. Fade glanced between the girls in the room but was unable to crack a smile.

Aria watched in admiration as Magnus ()allowed himself to be center stage. "He is so brave," Aria whispered to Sam () agreeing with the sentiment she expressed earlier.

Aria looked nervously at Paddy () and wondered how she was feeling about all of this. Aria wanted to ask her a few questions but didn't know if she was open to talking about her werewolf part. Instead she took a step in her direction and just stood near her for moral support.

Arias entire body tensed as Bartley gave the opening instruction. As she learned that transforming was extremely painful her jaw dropped; she had no idea. She looked around the room and watched the faces of her classmates and saw many different stages of emotion in the room.

Aria watched as the transformation began. The sounds of his bones breaking caused many gasps and whimpers throughout the room; a few people were crying. When Magnus uttered his final scream Aria's entire body felt tingly an her knees felt weak.

Aria took a moment to gather her thoughts as she listened to Bart. She wanted to smile when he said that everyone could ask anything, but her mood felt too reverent because of the transformation just witnessed.

Aria was intrigued by what happened after Magnus eats too and was glad that Fade() had asked.

After waiting for a moment she asked the question most pressing on her mind, "What happened to Magnus that led him to being orphaned?" Aria wasn't sure if Magnus() had said much on the subject to her but thought perhaps Bart would be able to give her more perspective.

Without even a breath Aria suddenly realized that she had another question she needed to explore further. "I'm sorry," Aria said to Bart, "I have one more question, for now. Why does Magnus have a difficult time around Griffins? I'm not sure if you would know that or not, but I don't really understand." Aria was embarrassed to be talking in front of so many students and blushed deeply.

As Bart was answering the questions asked, Aria suddenly felt foolish for being so shy and embarrassed. She looked at Magnus and decided to be more brave and try to be a good sister.

Millie stood next to her friends Beth, Sauvage, Aderyn, Sam, and Fade as she watched Magnus changed. She really wished she had run up to the kitchen and got more steak but glad she brought the two pieces of steak. She was at loss for words but couldn't take her eyes off of Magnus.

"Would that it be so, Fade," he said sadly. The look of sorrow flashed on his face but was gone quickly. "If he was under wolfsbane, he would be sleeping for the most part. Shifting takes a lot out of him and would take at least one large game if not two to fill his belly. If a werewolf is sated in his hunger, he will look for a female to mate with. And if that need is met, then the pair will likely run together the rest of the night.

Magnus is getting his bearings now. Give him time and he will show you how savage a werewolf is. Since I was unable to convince him to have the live prey, he will eventually turn on himself and begin to harm himself out of frustration. It will be necessary to stun him at times, if nothing else than to prevent a grave injury."

He looked at Aria and gave her a sad smile. "He was found on the streets of London at night in a pram. The muggle police officer took the infant to the orphanage. They waited for the parents to return, as it was an expensive pram and he was swaddled in a blanket with the name Magnus embroidered on it. But they never came. It is believed something happened to them but what we do not know. I suspect his parents hid him in the muggle streets fleeing something awful. I did research when I learnt the boy's story and found that a magical family disappeared around the time he was found. However, I have nothing to support this theory and therefore have not told him of it. I trust everyone else will do likewise. There is no point in torturing the boy with information that cannot be substantiated.

"Right after his ninth birthday, he left the orphanage to enjoy the night and the quiet. There was a werewolf that had been watching him and purposefully hanging around the streets waiting to change so he could kill and eat him. An auror was following and was able to apperate Magnus to Saint Mungos. He was mauled so badly it is a wonder he survived at all. He could not go back to his orphanage and thus was forced to live in the hospital for almost a year. No one knew what to do with him. When we met him we realised how special this child was. The moment we left Saint Mungos, we applied to adopt him at the Ministry. Given my job, it was granted within a week. As to griffins, I cannot say. Why are people afraid of spiders or dogs? He is trying to become less afraid. And there is nothing to be sorry about. I have said you may ask questions, darling. I wil answer them unless it I choose not too and in that case, I will explain my reasonings."

Sam perked up "That's one transfiguration I'm really good at" she blurted out. "Turning Owl treats into live prey for my Owl." She pulled a large pile of treats out of a hidden pocket in her cloak and transformed one of them into a large brown rabbit. "Can you get a bunch of these into the cage before Magnus starts hurting himself?" she asked hopefully.
