4a. I don't want vending removed entirely, because for me it's a big part of how i make money and how i fill my wardrobe. And it used to be how i filled my collections. I do however want it to be restricted like it is now and not encouraged. I wouldn't mind some machines disappearing. I've never used Frosty claw, Shining Crane & Blue moon before. And I only used grave digger when the valentines stuff was there.
4b. Now what would I spend my tokens on: token shop restocks. Throw the special items in there, yes also riptide. But I wouldn't spend it all on there to be honest, I'm a bhh stalker and i keep 7.5k tokens around just in case.

I would be okay with there being a few less machines, but I would be completely disappointed if they went away altogether.
More TS restocks would be nice too... at least a little more often.
RIP Mom, I love & miss you more than you know. Tell Dede hi.

Notes (because no it can't be that easy lol): I don't like vending, it's boring, and it's gambling and nothing ever seems to actually be worth anything that comes from it-- just look at the prices of minions/beanbags/flowers/everything from Dragons Chance or whatever has that newest set (that I still hadn't seen a single piece from, after vending for several days).
Most importantly, it's bad for the site at this point when it comes to the sites current state of existence-- I'm not saying this can't be fixed, but it'd require effort and there will have to be some give from the user perspective.
Machines need to retire, the stuff that vends needs to be more limited (to warrant restocking-- which is something that takes sP out, moves more sP around, and AND keeps users onsite and doing things). Why do minions even vend, that sounds awful. Collection items (books, beanbags, plushies, etc) don't need to vend, either, because it devalues something that SHOULD rightfully be a stable source of restocking (much like food).
Instead of this vending machine vends every book ever + anything with the color "blue, sky, dusk" in it-- it should just be the latter. Each machine needs to vend items of a specific rarity (1-60 or whatever, lower than it currently vends do you see how many rares are worthless within DAYS of release??) and specific colors-- NOT specific shops. You go to OD and you're going to get "hydrus, blue, ocean, water, sea", you go to Grave Digger you're going to get "graveyard, black, green, dead, rot, survival", etc. It's not helpful to have someone be able to one stop shop at a single vending machine and collect an entire new set of items in one day.
I literally, literally, got HALF of the newish combat boots in a single day-- the day they came out. That's not how this should work-- that's not how any of this should work.
I don't like the idea of an entire new set, but I did really like the idea of retired items vending (stuff that has been circulating in the past). I would like it more if some past holiday stuff was unretired and stocked around the mainshops with a collection of the items going to the vending machines.
We have quests, and... that's about it. Fragging, but buying stuff from usershops in-mass is ridiculously tedious and takes 15years and you have to find stuff that's rare and under x sP to be worth the trouble or super cheap everything else because like hell I'ma pay 500 sP for something that I might not get a HPC out of. It shouldn't be THAT much work to help the economy (I get that I get something out of it, but let's face it-- if people had to go through that much trouble to recycle, no one would do it).
I don't really have a suggestion on how to fix this, but I can say it's putting in a lot more items than the amount that has a purpose.
Lastly, what would I use my wizard tokens on? The same thing I always do, Token shop.
Or.. perhaps a great solution might be to have the Recycle Beast start taking Wizard Tokens too.
I am one of the god-awful people destroying the subetan economy by vending. I vend the limit every day. I hated when the limit was put into place and I still hate it. I used to vend an average of 10k tokens a day. And tokens sold for almost double back then. So reducing the number of vends has only cause their price to drop.
When vending was unlimited I would only price my shop when it had reached a certain number of items. Normally around 25k. And that was pretty much several times a week. Now I only price for the weekend. And only earn a very small fraction of what I used to earn.
If vending were completely removed I would probably spend far less time on subeta. Not because I spend much time vending anymore, that only takes 6 minutes, but because I would not have any income at all. I am not saying that like a threat or whatever.."I WILL QUIT FOREVER!!" just being honest. Not being able to earn as much makes me much more cautious about how much I spend.
I hate the idea of one machine once a day, increasing the number of shops it pulls from the more people vend from it. For starters, wouldn't people just wait till later in the day to vend, hoping they would hit the time it was pulling from the most shops?
I like the idea of few machines with more shops for each. At this point the music shop needs to not vend at all or be given as a main quest request for some npc. Having all the wearables in one machine, collectibles in another, etc. sounds like a nice compromise.
1. Do you vend at all? Yes, I love to vend. 2. How often? Every day if I can, sometimes I go through stretches of not being able to stay on Subeta long, so I can't. 3. At which machines? I try to do all of them, but I mainly do Ocean Depths and Celebration Gift.
And if you think vending should be removed / further restricted, how would you like to use your wizard tokens instead? I don't believe it should be removed, I really don't understand what it is a big deal to have it in the first place. I Love, LOVE HAs, and dressing them, and the vending is where I get a LOT of my clothing/wearables. I don't know what I'd be doing if I didn't have vending. On restricting, I guess it would depend on how much restriction there was.
i dont think vending ought to be removed outright, but it could do with some significant pruning. not every shop type needs to be included in vending machines, because that just generates an excess of an item that no one wants while they're vending for something they DO want. for instance, i stopped vending for books at blue sky because i kept getting inundated with beanbags that didn't sell, and the best you can do with a worthless item like that is frag it. but what i'm guilty of (and i know plenty of others as well) is just chucking it all in shops and hoping to scrape together SOME compensation, further driving down the prices of those items as nobody buys and shopkeeps continue to lower prices in hopes of selling out.
some vending machines could be eliminated altogether, while others could be relieved of certain item types. books and food are great vendables because they are consumable and typically in demand, whether for consumption or via questing (library and pete respectively). beanbags, not so much. you put them into your collection once, and then they just start piling up. then why would anyone restock from the beanbag NPC shop when you can get most of the basics for dirt cheap? this kind of unwanted item generation is helping nobody.
I know this is for vending but I just wanted to put some feedback on what you said about fragging.
I frag nearly every day and vend very occasionally. I tend to only frag rares and have even made a gallery so I can weed out the cheap ones to go buy up. I don't know how other people frag but it would be worth finding out if a majority use vending as a source for fragging. I like the way making crystals is at the moment and would hate to see it changed just because you want to change vending, unless of course there is a strong correlation between the two.
I vend to frag personally too. but again, only if I remember to vend.
I don't know if I believe that the riptide has been vended recently. I thought it has been like a year or two since the last time one was vended. I could be wrong though.
I'm going to be hated for this suggestion, but the way that user shops are being allowed to function are negatively impacting item sales as well.
I think that the following would help the site:
Place a limit on the amount of an item that can be stocked on an account (to stop people just making multiple shops). The fact that some people have items at 500+ stock is going to keep that item price down for a long time as they don't have enough time to sell out and inflate.
Place a limit on shops overall. I know there is the achievements for shops and people will moan, so even just making it that might help things go a little smoother. Put the same limit onto galleries while at it.
I know of at least two people in the past month that have gotten a riptide vending :). It seems the rate has been upped or it was removed and readded with no one knowing.
Don't have time to talk more right now, but I might further my post later!
I always vend to restock my shop. It's the only way I even make any money on here. If it was removed I would probably not be able to play as much as I am no good at restocking.
Mostly at 4 different machines. Celebration Gift, Frosty Claw, Blue Sky and Burning Chance.
I don't think these need to be removed. Maybe changed up a bit on how they get items so it gets less of the ones cluttering the site.
Edit: I have read some of the posts now and can agree with some things.
I think the vending limit as is (250 for non-GA, 500 for GA) should be kept.
I agree with more TS/BHH restocks. Those seem to be highly requested. Maybe use them for the old Trivia items and maybe make some TS-only items?
I can agree to maybe upping the amount of tokens spent on vends. I remember when you would flip the vending prices from 2 to 4 for maybe 4-6 months or a year (I can't remember what the last one was) and the prices would raise back up. Going back to that where it goes back and forth depending on the amount of items out there and prices to help balance it.
I do not think having to spend 5-10 per vend would be good unless a good bit of the items from the machines gave a decent amount of sP again. Mostly because it would just make it useless for the user to vend at all. 90% of the time we get more items that are just 2-3k or so at the present time. With current wizard tokens being back to 1k per point you'd essentially be spending 10k for a item that may only sell for 100sP.
I for one have never been able to keep up with restocking at all. I tried doing that with some of the food items, especially the candy shop, and either the items would not sell at all, would take a long time or they'd eventually have a huge price drop to not being worth RSing.
Higher priced token shop items would be good but along with this they need to be of equal quality,Things like backgrounds, wears in general, maybe even stat boosters to make it worth the amount of tokens that we would be spending if this were to happen. Not just older items being recycled,New fresh things please.
General consensus shows that vending isn't as widely used of a feature as restocking is,Personally I rarely vend at all,If I do it's for when new clothes I want are released or for event items that I can't get anywhere else anymore because the powers that be decided to remove the holiday shop.
Vending machines I use are grave digger and dragons hoard most often.
I forgot mystery box even exists,It holds no purpose to me and if it were to stay it would need to be re-done to be more useful.
I'd rather spend my tokens elsewhere on site then for vending...I usually save them for TS,bhh, and mallarchy pond because I am determined to get that fruit bat wearable.
Answer: Yes
Very very rarely, perhaps a couple of times during a year
Oceans Depth, only for Freyalise items.
I strongly dislike vending, and I much prefer restocking. HOWEVER, we should not forget that restocking can be very elitist. So, let's not put all our eggs in one basket. And let's not also cripple restocking as a solution.
As for my wizard tokens, I am hoarding them rather than vending. I worry about missing ts restocks and the like. Higher priced items will simply make me hoard more instead of spending 'em. (unless there is a max limit for an item that we can publicly know about).
Maybe if I could exchange wizard tokens with frag crystals I would clear a bit of my hoard out, but I don't think people would want this.
:) I have some things in the works that will be a mix of new items + old ones (because there are def some old token shop items that need to be in circulation again). The new items will have some higher price tags of different prices (a background might be more than a beanbag while a book will be a good medium because people need a lot of books).
I like the sound of that, thank you for your response :)
Do you vend at all? Yes
How often? Everyday if possible since the one click revamp.
At which machines? Celebration Gift. It gives food which is in demand all the time for many quests, so it's always profitable.
And if you think vending should be removed / further restricted, how would you like to use your wizard tokens instead?
I open a window and vend away while reading other stuff in another window. Or I take a break for my eyes from the screen because I can just click away. It's relaxing and simple :)
I'm actually not in favor of removing vending. I think daily limit we have is fine.
Other than that, I use my wizard tokens for zapping pets. I keep forgetting to though since I have to clear my inventory (because it can zap items) and then I procrastinate then forget to zap xD
I've seen a lot of feedback being given on vending over the past few days, and want to give it a single place to come together. I have some basic questions, and then want you to fill in what you'd like to / think should happen with vending.
1. Do you vend at all? Occasionally. 2. How often? Pretty much only when there are limited-time items in a machine or I'm really bored and decide to go after a long-term vending-exclusive item. 3. At which machines? Wherever the promos are.
And if you think vending should be removed / further restricted, how would you like to use your wizard tokens instead? I'm in favour of either removing vending or eliminating vending-exclusive items so that only dedicated venders will be producing items, rather than a huge chunk of the userbase. If that were to become the case, I would put a permanent stock of items in the Token Shop for high prices (ie, 5000 tokens or more each) so that we can buy items at our leisure and people who don't care about vending may actually have a use for tokens between regular TS restocks.
If you take away vending please also take a minute to put a bullet in my brain please.
1. Do you vend at all? Sometimes. 2. How often? Only really when I feel like it, but when there are special items, I do it then too. But I still don't vend a lot. 3. At which machines? At the machines with special promotions. Other than that, Oceans Depths because I bought the map. And a random smattering of the others to see where my luck lies. Whatever I don't want I usually either frag or hoard.
And if you think vending should be removed / further restricted, how would you like to use your wizard tokens instead?
I don't think vending should be completely removed but I do believe that looking into further restrictions may be good. I'm not particularly knowledgable about vending/the economy but perhaps brainstorming other ideas might be a good idea. Maybe lessening vending-exclusive items, instead putting them into other shops - like the Main Shops, or maybe even the Token Shop?
I would use my Wiz Tokens on stuff like the Token Shop. I also used my tokens when zapping my pet Parma, although I'm not zapping anymore because I'm happy with his final colour. BHH too, because I'm finally trying to go for items there! I've gotten 2 so far so that's pretty cool.
