---- i'm really hoping i'm supposed to be posting this here In The Thread and that i haven't just made a fool of myself lmao
You did it exactly right! Welcome to KS. I'll send an invite. We do our chatting here and any games or event related stuff in the group forums. Take a look around. Any questions just ask away.
“Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.” - Benjamin Franklin
"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the orphan." - Isaiah 10:1-2
hahaha lol they would have to close down of all the sick people off the marsmallows. ANd yeah i get the stuff i want to from the shops, it's 'cheaper' now then when we buy from user stores later on. And i see it's not much great new stuff, most of it i have.
Little heatwave here after 2 weeks of rain, cool weather we now have over 27 degrees here and the next 3 days will be hot! over 30 degrees.... guess who has to work.... me...
Welcome :)
I don't care about my appearance in real life but with my HA everything has to be perfect xD
thank you very much! <3
also thank you !! and absolutely agreed, irl i just vibe in whatever i roll into out of bed but my HA must be Immaculate
Welcome!
Hello everyone. Like , I've been around, just quiet. :) Nothing much going on; my leg still hurting, but less. Started 7/6. A lot of stupid crap about referrals - insert several colorful metaphors - not the right kind, I sent it, I didn't get it, I sent it again, and when I do get it takes three days to process, oh was it that fax number? Ok, I'll try again... tired of it! But hopefully on the right track now. Idk. At this rate it might be Christmas before I get in to see my Ortho. Ugh!
Terrible doctor jokes:
I told the doctor I broke my leg in three places. He told me to stop going to those places.
I watched a movie the other day about a guy with a broken leg. The lead actor was terrible but he had an excellent supporting cast.
Warned you! lol
thank you both !! <3
also chrysariel i am so sorry for the constant doctor runaround, that's some of the most frustrating stuff to deal with ugh
pulls head out of current book I am alive! I finally got sucked into my latest book. Hopefully that means I'll start making in-roads on my to-read list. XD I've also been watcing a tv show called "NYPD Blue." Anyone else ever watch it. I told my dad that I found a documentary about NYC and when he found out I was talking about the show he almost chocked laughing. He said it's actually nothing like that show. 😆 So, that's what I've been doing and will probably go back to soon. I've got everything I want/need from Neugarten. Not sure if I'll get any of the hairs since I don't bother with HA stuff. :D
- I'm off to read it! :D
- I'm sorry it's so hot there and you have to work in it. I hope it passes quickly. It's been in the 80f here and I've been staying inside in the coolness. :D
- Welcome! :D
- reading is awesome! How was your trip to the coast?:D
- Oh, Greece! What all did you do/see there? I'm glad you're feeling better. :D
- I'm so sorry your getting the run around from the insurance company. They totally suck. At least it's not hurting as bad right now. I hope the insurance company gets it's nose out of it's rear soon. Hugs :D
Waves hi @ jersey and all the other lurkers. ❤
Yeah, when you read a good book the world sort of disappears. What book are you reading now?
I've heard of NYPD Blue but never watched it.
I'm glad you are liking Jash/Alex =D
the Oregon coast was lovely and cool temp wise. We stayed at the prettiest place and went to an aquarium with lots of cool stuff and a light house where we also saw seals.
Oh, I finished my reading challenge for the year of 50 books from 50 categories and can just read whatever I want to for the rest of the year.
so sorry your doctors are being a pain. Bad jokes are a good coping mechanism.
Going to see Dial M for Murder outside at the Shakespeare fest tonight and it is 95 f out. Sigh. I really like the play. Have fan will travel.
Oh, that sounds wonderful. Always wanted to go on a coastal mostly trip through northern California, Oregon, Washington, Canada and Alaska. So beautiful. Congrats on the 50 books! What are you in the mood for now? Yep just a freaking pain and I don't know when it will be done. Bah!
and I love that when the magic happens and you fall in and forget you're reading. Fantastic. <3
Currently reading Heretics of Dune.
Heretics of Dune has things happening unlike God Emperor of Dune. So following characters who are all trying to backstab each other is engaging. Unlike reading endless monologues that make math class seem interesting.
Though Frank Herbert likes to throw these odd sex things in so...like three of the characters are hiding out somewhere and then there's mention of there being all this sexual imagery. Then one thing is described in detail. AND THEN Frank Herbert basically says BDSM is sinful and a sign of moral failing.
It's basically the literary equivalent of a roller coaster.
I read all the Dune books a long time ago, and the first couple several times. I don't remember much about them now; just bits here and there. I remember thinking God Emperor went off the bend, tho. The latest version of Dune in a miniseries was extraordinary. Have you seen it? I loved it. But they did mess up the eyes sometimes. Blue-within-blue means no white sclera. I want them to keep going and do more. All the actors were so good, and the one playing Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen was amazing. Just perfect for the part.
I've read all the books in the Dune series by Frank Herbert back in High School so I forgot how insane it got. If God Emperor had been shorter than it probably would have been better as there would have to be more focus on the plot instead of the weird ramblings. Such as the rambling about how most young people go through a gay phase which turns them into super soldiers.
The titular character of the book honestly felt like Frank being super proud of how awesome his OC was instead of an actual character. I honestly stopped trying to understand Leto II as my brain couldn't handle trying to make sense of him.
I haven't seen any of the mini-series. I probably should in the future. I have seen the latest movies and can't wait until the third installment. I think it's going to combine Messiah and Children. The latest movies did change things but I think mostly for the better. Such as Baron Harkonnen now not being a gay caricature (Frank was homophobic so it wasn't just a harmless mistake) and Chani having more of a character than instantly changing for Paul. Though her running off at the end of the second movie was...yeah...
welcome.
sadly i am working with the hot days and they are not over. Luckly we have ac in the hallways, that helps and we are not showering people when it's above 25 degrees celcius as the showers get way to hot for us.
Have the day off today and had to get up at 7:30am as at 8:00am they where coming to fix my ventilation system (was making weird noises. Ofcourse they came at 8:25am, but where done at 8:50am. Everything is working great again. It's now almost 10am, washings are outside in the sun, did grocery shopping, vacuumed the house, refreshed the water fountain from the cats. And now i can relax.. lol it's already 25 degrees celcius and stuffy. Will be hot again today.
I read three books at once in three ways. Just started The Book Eaters by Sunyi Dean which is a fiction/scifi book? Not sure. Listening to The Curse of Penryth Hall by Jess Armstrong which is a mystery it’s quite cute. And then the digital one is Paladin’s Faith by T Kingfisher which is book four of the humorous fantasy series.
I never liked the dune books. Too much politics for me. I should probably watch the new movies though as I watched the first.
glad they are taking the heat into account at your work.
I tried to read multiple books at a time when I was younger but couldn't do it. You have a really impressive skill :)
There's good eye candy in the latest Dune movies which wasn't there in the books.
And Jason Momoa should be back for the third installment. Frank Herbert couldn't seem to write without Duncan Idaho being alive. So the character just keeps getting brought back to life in the books.
Well, I'm irritated. My internet went out yesterday so I missed a day of getting Neugarten stuff for my gourmet pet. Ugh. Today it's spotty. I guess that's ok as long as it ultimately works. This really has shown me how dependent on my internet I am. Can't watch tv without it, can't read my book, can't play my game. :S I think I'm going to download a book to my phone that is only for when the internet goes out. Now, to figure out what book that will be... :/
- It sounds like you had a lovely time! Congrats on the 50 book goal. I don't know how you do it, reading more then 1 at a time. I get mine confused if I do that. Keysnier is right, you have a sonderful skill there. :D
- I love that spot, too. I've now reached the moment in my book where I'll need a large chunk of time to read through the ending and, hopefully, catch everything. :D
- I'm glad they fixed your vent system. That's not anything to mess around with when it's over 30c there. Sounds like you were a good worker bee on your day off and have earned the right to be a couch potato. :D
