Hi! Really love my office. I feel good when I walk in here everyday. :) I have a new addition to it. We bought a small freezer and I put it along the wall in between my desk and the window. It's really nice and very useful. The cats approve - someone is always laying on it. Esp since I refuse to open the windows now. They don't understand when I say its too damn hot for that. (They really think I'm being deliberately obtuse! lol) I think I am more or less done with putting things up, esp in the office, but I still have a couple boxes I haven't unpacked yet, so we'll see.
Oh, I'm pretty boring. :P I've been doing the same stuff I was doing. :) I usually spend afternoon and evening on my computer and then go watch TV most of the night - sometimes there is a nap involved somewhere - and then more TV often into the morning. Then hopefully I can sleep. I just don't sleep well. Haven't in years. I'm excited to get a couple hours uninterrupted! Usually its all broken up. The worst days its sleep 15 minutes, be awake tossing and turning for 30+ minutes, then repeat over and over. Humpf.
I have been working on my new pets' profiles along the way, as I feel like it. Just got back three more recolored overlays, so I'm excited about that. Waiting on approval from Subeta to customize the pets now. <3
Think I'm going to have to accept the fact that I really need surgery on my shoulder. Its hurting all the time but I just am dreading a freaking year long recovery that starts with no movement at all and different pain for 6 - 8 weeks... and it feels tied down and I can't get free of it. OMG. I was over my other surgeries within the first 6 - 8 weeks, not looking forward after that (If I survive the first part. ha!) to the wonderful PT in a long protracted never ending arc. At least the pain changes and hopefully gets better over all that. Ugh.
So how are you doing?
Welcome to KS. :)
You said "grunt" and my mind went places XD
Need to finish The Witcher books at some point. Haven't played any of the games yet. Which reminds me I need to find time to finish the Mass Effect series at some point (haven't finished the first game yet).
thought about that but that is most of the time pricier then what i nromal do.. But who knows..
I am loving no more nightshifts and my own bed each night
Ugh this darn lag is driving me nuts!
- sounds like you're all moved in (minus the 2 boxes :P ) A new freezer, eh? For hot flashes or stockpiling food? We've got an upright freezer that hubby is slowly filling with food. Which reminds me, we have to do a grocery run soon. Sorry you're not sleeping well. When I'm like that I take amitriptylene to get to sleep but it doesn't always work. On those nights I either read all night or listen to the news. It sometimes puts me to sleep. 😂 Do you have any idea what's caused your shoulder to flare up? Does flossing the nerves help at all? Or holding it across your chest. That's what I do when mine act up. I put my hand on my opposite shoulder and just sit like that for a bit. It always seems to quiet whatever was going on in there. I hear you about the PT. That's theone thing I dislike the most about any kind of surgery. They force the PT on you even if you don't feel you need it. Then again, it's worth the end result like a pain-free shoulder. :) I'm doing well. Keeping up with my PT exercises and am able to finally put the foot stool of the recliner down all on my own now. I can't believe how strong I've gotten. It's been pretty amazing because I'm doing things that I haven't done since the stroke, like putting the foot stool down on the recliner. 😂 ❤
- 😆 I love Geralt and his grunts. You should finish the series, it's really good. Much better then the tv show. :) Wait a minute. You haven't finished the first Mass Effect? :O :O :O I stroked out 10 years ago and even I have finished the first Mass Effect! Talk about slacking! 😆
- probably because all those hotels and trains give discounts to the travel planner that you, as a regular citizen, can't get. So, what are you thinking to do? Go before or after your birthday?
XDXD Sorry gang, the forum was too whacked out for me yesterday. XD XD I couldn't get anything to work and eventually gave up. I did try with your game, - It looked like a lot of fun. :D
In my defense I play a lot of games and right now haven't found a good slot for the Mass Effect series. And the majority of games I play are rpgs that have an insane amount of time just to get through the main part of the game.
Maybe when I finish my second playthrough of Skyrim and finish the Main Quest, Civil War Quest, and DLC I'll finally get back to it. Going to get through the Mage questline when I get back to that Skyrim playthrough. After that I'll finally start the Main Quest XD
😆 I'm glad you've got a plan. It's important to have a plan! Just know, Mass Effect 2 is better then the first. ;) As long as you write stories about what you're playing I'll forgive you. I love your stories because they make me feel like I am playing again. :D ❤
I know for Mass Effect 2 I need to do everyone's loyalty missions so they don't all die. I've kept on and off with the lore of the series. And I think the sequel is when you can finally romance Garrus. Of course the dude I want to romance is unavailable in the first game XD
After I finish with By My Soul (my current fic trilogy) I really want to finish some of my older fics that are currently abandoned. I also do drabbles so even if I don't do a long fic, I may still have little mini-fics to read.
Of course that's my current plan but I also planned for That Part to be a standalone fic AND HERE I AM WITH A TRILOGY!
For hot flashes AND storing food of course. Always better to have multiple uses! lmao. That is wonderful you have such improvement! Always nice to see a difference. <3
Somehow I managed to tear my rotator cuff. I honestly don't know how. Been dealing with this maybe two years, along with my knees. Both knees had meniscus tears. Had surgery on the right and its better. Should have surgery on the left, but it doesn't bother me a lot. When it does I wear my brace. So concentrated on the knees first, then the shoulder. Had the cortisone shots in it (which I was scared of but ended up being fine. They recommended them for my knees but that's an absolute Hell no!) every few months but now they say they can't give me anymore. I decided in January I didn't want the surgery, and had so much going on with the move just couldn't deal with any more stress anyway.
A long time ago I did the same thing to my right shoulder, and it healed somewhat wrong, but I didn't have near the trouble with it that I do with my left. Think age and arthritis are big factors now that they weren't so much then. The ortho did send me to get PT on my left shoulder, and it did help. I actually loved the people up there and they made me want to go and also do the home exercises. But the insurance never said for sure if they would pay or not, and ended up denying after 6 months. I had a $500 bill. I have one more payment and I'll be paid up... But I can't deal with that again. Idk. Have to see.
the book is about her job, her views and what so goes trough daily as a police officer and the things she sees. Some are nice, gross, sad. But it's a good book
Hi all! Hope you all are fine.
Hey All....
My son got me to watch a few of The Witcher shows. I really got into it, but never finished cause I heard they were books. I always like to read before I watch a movie or tv show etc. He plays the video game i guess, I dont deal with Xbox and Playstation games. But now u really got me wanting to read the book or books im not sure how many there are. Im currently reading a book called "Sweet Nightmares" by Tracy Wolff. Its pretty good. Its Kimmie442's book. I stole from here when I was in between series. I hate waiting for the next book to come out in a series. Im currently waiting for Demon with Benifits by Aurora Ascher. Although it came out 3 yrs ago I guess its getting a re-publish so I cant find it anywhere until it comes out July 29th I think. Ugh.... drives me crazy....
Sorry to hear about ur shoulder. It sounds very painful to deal with. My hubby had a motorcycle accident last year in March and he broke 9 ribs on right side and his right Clavical (Collar Bone) the ribs r fine now but he still has so much trouble with the collar bone. He was out of work for 8 months and he still has trouble doing his job. He drives Tractor Trailer but he has to tarp the flatbeds and then put straps over the loads. He has a terrible time with his right arm/shoulder when doing it. He swears it never healed at all. They probably should have done surgery on it back when he had the accident. They mentioned it but said sometimes people cant handle the plate in there and then they have to go back in and take it out. So they decided to let him try and heal on his own. Sadly I think at some point he might still need to get the surgery.
My son plays some of those games u mentioned. He lives on the damn Xbox I swear he's addicted to it. Ive heard of Skyrim and I think I have watched him play it before. I like the farming game he plays to relax. I dunno what its called, simulator or something lol I do easy take it slow games lol Im a Mario Bro's gamer from the 90's lol I miss my Nintendo and the 3 Mario games LMFAO am I showing my old age??? LoL
I try to create a good work/life balance. Hard to do when your work is at home. Writing and gaming are my careers.
I thought of playing Skyrim casually but then it took over my life. It has some really good scenery paired with the finest music.
I'm not sure what farming game your son plays but the farming game I play is Stardew Valley. It's a farming/dating simulator. Really relaxing to play :)
With the latest update now you can get portraits of your spouse. And since I'm a little bit of a collector, on one of my farms I'm marrying everyone to get all their portraits. Which, since there is no poly option, means I have to do it one at a time. Dating and marrying does take time.
I used to play Pokemon Stadium when visiting some of my cousins. Really wish they had made a version for the Wii.
- So, who were you interested in in Mass Effect 1? I made a fem Shephard and got her interested in the guy (forget his name XD ) Yes,I'm boring. 😂 Don't beat yourseelf up over abandoned fiction. I have a hard drive full of abandoned stories that I just can't write any more on. I've tried, it just won't flow anymore. :( That's why I enjoy your stories. :D
- Isn't age and arthritis always the culprit? XD I'm glad you had a good PT experience when you went. Not many people do. I told my PT right off the bat that I didn't like to exercises and called my previous PT "Torquemada" because she was such sadist. Apparently that was the right thing to say because she was nnice to me and I actually wanted to do the exercises, like you did. It turned into a positive experience. Insurance can be tricky, especially these days. I wouldn't take anything they say as true unless they send you a physical letter verifying it afterwards. Plus, I wouldn't do anything until I had the letter in hand. They can't (but will try) to wiggle out of it anyways but at least you have physical proff, ya know? Maybe now, now that you're all moved and things have settled, it's time to think about getting the shoulder fixed? :D
- It sounds like a good book, even if it has sad and gross bits in it. I hope you're feeling better. Are you enjoying Masquerade? :D
-I don't think that I've read that Tracy Wolf book. I looked on my Audible and I've got Court, Crave, Covet, and Crush of hers. I honestly couldn't finish her last book because it was so banal and repetitive. Plus, I didn't like where she was taking two of the characters. Right now I'm reading "Wind and Truth" by Brandon Sanderson. It's the next installment of his "Stormlight Archive" series and I'm loving it. I read the Witcher books because my gsame developer husband raved about how good they were and how fun the game was. So, natuarally Ipicked them up. I don't remember how many are in the series but I loved them so the number didn't matter to me. :) I'm sorry your son is driving you nuts. Iff it's any consolation, my 21 year old wants to be a game developer for Nintendo so he plays every Nintendo game he can get his hands on. He recently got a Switch 2 and is enamoured with the latest Mario Cart that's on it.Perhaps, since your son loves video games so much, try and steer him into game development? It's a valid career choice and it can be very rewarding. Right now my son is learning how to program in C+ and C++ so he can build games in the Unreal Engine. :) How are you enjoying Masq? :D
Garrus. Alien and doesn't seem entirely happy. Seems not to have the happiest of backstories. Exactly my type XD
I will beat myself up, thank you very much!
XD
- Yeah, I liked him, too. I love the tragic ones. 😂 ROFLMAO! Masochist! 😆
I loved the Witcher TV series. Geralt is woof woof Mmmm... lol never played the games. Too hard for me. Most are too hard. If it has fighting, I'm dead. Too much for me. Loved Mario 64 (except had to get whoever was home to do the races lol), Banjo Kazooie, and the Sims Breaking Out. So weird, but the first Sims was really boring and the third was way too complicated for me. The part I liked most was renovating all the homes and decorating. Most of the games are incredibly beautiful now tho. I used to watch my son play Skyrim just to watch it rain and stuff. Just amazing. And he did his own mods and there was one castle of his that had purple snow inside his bedroom. Gorgeous.
Ouch! Your poor husband. My first husband broke his left collarbone and something in his shoulder in a motorcycle accident too. Not sure what its like now, but back then he had to have a cast on his left chest, shoulder, and arm to the wrist, positioning the arm out to the side with the elbow bent and the hand up. It was weird and embarrassing for him, but it was also impossible to do anything. It was very painful too, but when it all finally healed he had very little residual pain. Oh, and it also cured him from ever riding a motorcycle again. But he still raced cars...
Yeah, maybe. Wish I could wave a wand and all our owies ('s cute expression) would go away. I know, I know - never going to happen even if I could find a magic wand - but its OK to wish. I might find one at a yard sale. You never know... Ha!
LOL @ dating and marrying ;-) My son says his game is called Farming Simulator (FS)25, I just sit there and watch him tend to his fields. He says he tried Stardew but it wasnt for him I guess. I play Pokemon Go but thats the only Pokemon game I have ever played. All my kids had those games on their Nintendo DS's and whatever other machines they have had. I feel like they have had them all at one point or another. Im simple, Subeta, I use to play Neopets, and of course the Super Mario original games and Pokemon Go. Thats it for me LoL
This is the 1st book of Tracy Wolff that I have read. I have heard of the others that u mentioned. I usually read a lot of James Patterson books, and then Kimmie got me into the ACOTAR books and then of course the Fourth Wing books LoL I do like the paranormal and fantasy stuff, I read a duo "The Night Witch" and "The Fate of Magic" by Sara Raasch and Beth Revis. I liked them a lot also. I tend to get into the young adult books often. I just finished The Caraval trio and they were in YA also. Im not sure how I got into that genre but I have enjoyed them lol My son would love to work with video games and stuff like that. But he says he knows nothing about coding. I really wish he could make real life money from it, cause he is so addicted to it. He says he isnt, but he is.... He use to flip out when we would take it away or the power to his room cause he didnt do a chore or whatever. I actually have been trying to convince him to goto school to drive tractor trailer like his dad. IF he can get thru the time at the school out in Indiana (hopefully without his damn Xbox) and learn what he needs to and get the education, hopefully he can turn his life around for the better. sighs
Yep, it sure cured my husband from ever riding a motorcycle again also. But he drives 18-wheelers for his job, so it's kinda the same as far as hazardous. Its sad cause he got his motorcycle license many years ago, probably 29yrs ago... never had a bike. Decided to buy a bike after his dad passed away. Kinda a grieving purchase if u know what I mean. Had to wait 2 months til it was warm enough to ride it. Decided that day was warm enough to bring it home from the place he bought it from... Which is I dunno 30+ miles away..... and we get 2 streets from our house and he crashes it! :( He still isnt sure what happened. My son and I watched it happen, we were right behind him. We cant figure out what he saw, he says he thinks he saw a red car. But there was no cars near him except for the cars coming down the hill. So he had no one in his way or a threat to him. He says he saw red. But honestly I dont think he really remembers any of it. Cause he was concussed and he didnt even know what happend as the EMT's got there and when we were talking to him waiting for the EMT's he said he remembers making the turn and then next he remembers he was in the ER in a lot of pain and talking to the DR. Ugh..... I hate motorcycles. THey seems really neat but Id never be on one. Sadly my son also bought a bike when hubby did. He still has his. And I am so scared everytime he rides. Sighs
All while I was typing all of that my 1 dog has been screaming at me. Literally SCREAMING.... Im about to send her out the door! She does this cry that after awhile U wanna scream and cry.... and this whole time its been constant!!!! I just asked my other daughter to take her outside (well insert a few bad words in there) lol cause I just need her out of here for 5 minutes!! Darn dog! Anyways......off to finish my quests and do as much dancing as I can. Tomorrow is a lake day! WoooHoooo!!! Kimmie and I are meeting an old friend and her kids at the lake tomorrow. Hoping to get some color, cause I look like raw chicken right now LoL
I feed off of sadness! My first fictional crush was Tobias from Animorphs. He was abused to the point he thought getting trapped as a red-tailed hawk would be an improvement. It wasn't.
More recently Alex Casey is depression given human form.
I feed off of sadness O.O'
I play on console (Xbox) and so I need to get all the achievements before I start using mods. Or else it won't count my achievements. All I need is just one more.
Console has a lot less mods than on PC. Don't think you can get any mods that kill children on console. And while I don't approve of child murder...there is this one kid that I hate. I play an Argonian and he jokes about how the Argonians (underpaid) on the docks have to be nice to him or else he'll get his dad involved.
I didn't think I'd ever have good enough hand control to play games. The only exception was I could play games on the PC. I LOOOVED the original Doom.
Neopets was my introduction to virtual pet sites.
Good Morning Everyone!
I had my first therapy session last night, and I am feeling so much better because of it. I'm happy I started it back up, and I will not stop it again until I'm more than ready. Today, my mom, YeranceK, and I are going to the lake for the day once we get everything ready. We are waiting for some towels to be done washing. We didn't realize we had no beach towels washed, LOL. I'm so ready to enjoy some sun and swim. I have not been swimming since I got out of high school. Having a full-time job sometimes leaves no room for fun, especially when you don't get out of work till 5-6 pm. Then it's dinner time and the bed to start it all over again. This is the only time I wish I could go back to high school to have summer off and be able to do whatever I want. I'm going to try to get out more this summer. My coworker and I plan to take her kids to the pool the first week of July when I am out of work. If it rains, we will try to go to Country Junction to get out of our houses.
- A yard sale magic wand could do wonders for all of us. ;) I used to be a Sims-a-holic. I played the games, modded the games, was a mod at a Sims forum, you name it, I've done it. 😂 I loved Sims 3 and the pudding sims. I almost never played the actual sims, though. I was too buys remodeling and building stuff to ever play them. 😂 I miss those days. :(
! - I hear you but he actually doesn't have to know how to code if he goes to school to learn game development or design. The school will teach him what he needs to know. I went to school for Game Design myself. Ended up getting A BFA in Creative writing for Entertainment (meaning I know how to write the stories for everything media related including gmames) with a minor in Game Design. My alma mater even has a Game Development online degree. I went to Full Sail University. I'm not sure how to link you to it but if you Google it, you'll see it and all the stuff they offer besides Game Development and all of it is online. Your son could go to school and learn how to make those xbox games he's so addicted to. Plus, a lot of game developers start out in the QA department. If he doesn't feel school's right for him then see if he's interested in gaming Quality Assurance. He can still play the games while hunting bugs and glitches. :D
- Sounds like you're going to have a nice day out at the beach. I hope you enjoy yourself. That's awesome about the therapy! I hope it helps. :D
- Well, you'll get no sadness from me. You would have 5 years ago but I'm much better now. :P Don't worry, hon, I like the tragic ones also. :P :D
- Hope you're having a wonderful Saturday! :D
Sims was fun. Its boring until I can get high enough to have the money to buy stuff. Tiresome when I had to live with the others and they were slobs! First thing I did when I could was hire maids. lol I loved the sonic showers. Would be neat to have those now.
Oh that is awful he had his license for so long and when he finally gets a bike, he wrecks before he even gets it home. That's horrible he never even got to enjoy it. My daughter used to ride sportbikes. Suzukis and even had a Ducati at one time. She went way too fast all the time and even learned some trick riding which really scared me. She had several good friends and her brother in law at the time die in wrecks. She had two wrecks herself but wasn't badly injured. She wore top helmets and leathers with armor, and that gave her the best protection she could get, aside from not being on one. She really was a very good rider, but so were the others that died. I was glad when she gave it up after riding for years.
