Hi! I'm in north central Texas. We have horrible summers that last most of the year. It will be over 100F this weekend. Ugh! But our winters are pretty nice with my favorite temps, 60's days and 40's nights. Sometimes if we're lucky we get snow. But when we're unlucky we get ice. I HATE ice. But it needs to get below freezing and stay there for awhile so it kills the bugs that try to carry us off in the spring.
I always loved Halloween with all the kids. But in the last 10 years or so they stopped coming to where I used to live, so it was no fun at all to decorate. But where I live now they usually do come, so I'm looking forward to this year's Halloween. <3
Glad to hear you're doing better! Ahhh, you'll have to tell me what married life with Maru is like! I loved having Seb and his little frog collection. :D
Thank you! I'm glad to hear you're having slightly milder weather for now. That's SUCH a relief after a heat wave! I'll keep my fingers crossed temperatures stay reasonable for a while!
Thank you! I've missed you guys!
Right now I'm having to spend a lot of time away from the farm as I am going into the volcano. Latest update has a Deluxe Retaining Soil recipe you can get from the island trader. While I have sprinklers the plan is to not use any on the Ginger Island farm. Plus not having to water my potted plants would save me so much time.
But I'll have updates once that is done XD
I got the Frog Egg Trinket so now I have a frog that follows me everywhere and eats my enemies.
I sure hope ur talking about a video game or something..... cause as I read ur post, I was very confused LoL ;-)
My husband drives tractor trailer and has been goin down to Texas quite often lately. Ive never been to TX the farthest down south Ive been in TN and FL.He isnt a fan of the heat from North Carolina down LoL He says he doesnt understand how people there do it. I tried to explain how it was explained to me by my friend who use to live in Florida from up here. He said it takes getting use to, but when he moved back up here to NJ where we r from, he said he was always freezing. Cause he was so use to Florida weather. Im no good in the intense heat at all. We went to FL for a week, me and my 3 kids and my son's friend. We were all dying from the heat. Of course we picked the 2nd week on July and it was terrible!!!! I couldnt keep myself cool at all. I brought portable fans, we purchased cooling towels, bought more fans there at Universal. Did everything we could and we just couldnt handle it. We would have to leave the parks for awhile and just go back to the hotel to cool off. I would always go back later once in cooled some, b ut not all the kids went back. Which made me sad bcause I wanted them to enjoy it while we were there. Its not like its just around the corner. Since then my 1 daughter keeps wanting to goto Disney. Id love to go also. I keep saying to save up the $ cause they r adults now and they all need to pay their own way to things like vacations. Hubby and I cant afford it anymore. He doesnt usually go on those vacations anyways. but thats another story. Either way IF we ever go back down to FL for Disney or anything else we r definately doing it in the fall/winter months. So I can be nice and cool down there while the natives r freezing it will be just right for me LoL
Hello, everyone! I just got back from my pain doctor and thought I'd pop in. Boy, my inventory was way over-full! 😂 That robot dancer really causes the trinkets pile up. If anyone needs some, just holler. :)
Anyways, my doctor appoint went well. I had 2 injections done; one in my left sacro-illiac joint and a second one in my right sacro-iliac joint. It hurt but now the pain has faded and the areas still feel a little weird. Apparently that's ok because I won't feel the actual effect of the medicine for a few days. Apparently it takes that long to work. I hope it does work because I'll be really grumpy if it doesn't work and I end up with the bottomless appetite I usually get with steroids. XD
- I hope it doesn't get too warm for you over there. Do you have a pool you can cool off in? or maybe a beach near by you can get cool in? I hope work isn't too difficult for you today. I'm glad the forums are finally working for you and that you jjoined the robot dance! :D
- That's ok, sweetie. I have too and I'm ok. You will be too. Hugs :D
- Hi! How's it going up there in Moose-land? :D
- now that you're somewhere that gets trick-or-treaters, are you going to decorate your house? I wish we would get some trick-or-treaters but they all go to the chur's trick-or-trunk around here. :(
- I'm just south of you in Virginia. It was 73-74f when I went to my doc appointment at 2pm. Do you live on the left of the state or the right? I used to live on the left of the state, outside Pittsburgh in Latrobe. :D Now, they had trick-or-treaters! We went home with grocery bags full of candy when the kids tric-or-treated there. XD 😂
- I hope someone listens too but so far, nothing. I'm going to give it a little more time before I take it to the next level. Mainly because I'm not sure what the next level will entail. :/
Well, I'm that way and I was born here. lol I've been hospitalized with heat exhaustion that was an inch away from heat stroke. The older I get the worse it is. And the hotter it gets, the bitchier I get. Its a no win situation. :P
I would LOVE to decorate for Halloween. At least the porch. Some lights and stuff, maybe a couple plastic pumpkins? Rox had some of the coolest decorations, but they went with her. Idk. Will have to see what Cory wants to do too. He goes to parties dressed up like a wizard/warrior with long grey hair and a long black silver spiked leather duster. He has special made (by him) leather gloves that I attached those silver jointed claws that cover the fingers. A black belt holds a long sword, and he has the neatest staff. He made it himself. It has a light up purple plastic ball with a black and purple dragon that curls around it with its tail spiraling down the upper part of the wooden staff. He adds to his costume every year so you never know what he'll come up with next. He wants to build a personal fog machine that he attaches to hmself with a remote control to make fog seem to surround and walk with him and drift behind. I think its an incredible idea. He's made several versions, but none of them are small enough, light enough, or last long enough so far. I must admit the first time I heard of it I did immediately think of "Pigpen" the character in the comic strip Peanuts, but I did not say anything! lol
You know I love Halloween. I always thought that the decorations at Target were better then those available at Walmart. I know you'll make it appropriately spooky. :) Your son's costume sounds so cool! You should take a pic and upload it this year. Has he tried to just carry around a bit of dry ice in some sort of dish or maybe a plastic container he puts in a belt pouch? And yeah, I can see how you'd get Pigpen out of that. 😆
I love Halloween too. That's why it was just horrible when no kids came by to look at all the decorations. Around there everyone takes their kids to the big fun things they have at schools and churches. I don't blame them. They are safe. And fewer and fewer people even decorated for Halloween anyway. It just got sad so we quit doing it. But over here Cory said there were bunches of kids. And many of the people go all out on decorations for Halloween and Christmas so it will be fun. Can't wait! :) As for Cory, I have some pics but they are different years and only partly done. It gets heavy and hot so he ends up taking part of it off. Someone else has taken the pics. Last year he wore it to the Renaissance Fair and I got copies of some of those. He said people kept saying it was cool and wanted to take pics with him. lol But this year I live here, so I'm going to get them when he first puts it all on. :)
Don't worry, talking about the game Stardew Valley.
As for Florida: there's generally one week of cold per year.
huggles you
Now I have even more exams to go to. MRI will be next week and the others will be whenever I decide to drop by the hospital.
Just went to my pulmologist today.
What did he/she say about your lungs? Don't envy you the MRI... they are excellent for showing what is wrong (or right lol) but I hate them.
- I'm sorry, I meant to ask about the shots and got distracted. That's a big ouchie! Hope they really work for you, and keep the pain away. I've heard they can last from just a few days up to three months or something, and then they might need to do more. But have you had them before and they worked for you? They wanted to 'thread the needle through my broken tailbone' and I just said no thanks, I'll just try other things first... and inside I was thinking, 'Are you out of your mind??!'
Sorry for the confusion, MRI I mentioned a little while back. My neurologist ordered it a month ago and it's taken over a month, at least, to actually schedule the MRI.
I have asthma so the xray is normal. What is new is that the pulmologist is recommending me to a cardiologist to get some sort of scan (or something) done. Might be my blood pressure was high today.
I have to look away from the device that takes my pulse as for some reason I get really excited looking at those numbers XD
No pool but a bucket with cool water helps and AC where i can find it. Need to get my fan out of storage.
Little heatwave coming up here for 5 days, i am off 2 of them. Over 30 degrees celcuis. No fun.
This weekend i have a brunch today and a high tea tomorrow. Hope it's inside with the AC.
A heart and lung scan? I had a nuclear stress test and they use the same machine for both. I'd take that any day instead of an MRI! With the particular machine they used, it was easy. The tech let me watch the scan afterwards, and the colors for differential she used with the images were really beautiful. I wanted a copy to abstract and use for a pet profile but they wouldn't give it to me. lol That's the first time I EVER heard that about getting excited looking at your pulse! lmao But you're right, you don't want your heart rate to go up because of it. It would be false. Snicker
Bleh on the heat! I agree. Surely you could go inside for the tea. It sounds nice.
Sounds like you're making great progress! I still have a handful of golden walnuts to find on Ginger Island and I have NO idea where to look so I might have to either pull up a game guide OR use a cheat hahaha.
Hahahaha unsurprisingly, the weather has been unseasonably cold lately! It's chilly and rainy today and it poured rain on my birthday weekend last week. But I'm not complaining, I LOVE this weather! How are things with you? Anything new and exciting? :)
I don't know if I'll need to go into an MRI for the chest scan. I usually go into a room, they tell me to remove anything metallic, I make a joke about having small boobs so I'm not wearing a bra, and then the scan is done.
I don't know what amazes me about seeing my pulse. I do know that it'll go from 80 to 100 if given the chance. I sneaked a peak this time and it went up from 80 to 83.
Since it was my second time on the island...I used the Joja bird. The cost of doing that goes down depending on how many you find. But if you don't want to interact with Joja in any capacity, you can't do that. I did the Joja run for the auto petter so it's not like I had any dignity to save XD
I also wasn't keen to do the memory thing again. I don't know how I got it done the first time XD
I did use guides to get to some of them.
I've never tried the Joja route, but I've always meant to go back and do it on a new file. I might use the Joja bird, but there are also just SO many mods these days that can help that I might just run one of those instead lol. At the moment, though, I'm completely head over heels obsessed with another game so maybe once this hyperfixation passes lol.
Hey all sorry I've been so MIA lately. Real life and all that jazz, and completely addicted to Palia and Megaquarium games so I spend most of my time on them haha. ALmost completely missed Masquerade :O:O

🦋
Joja route is easier and I wouldn't recommend it to a first time player. If I didn't do the Community Center route I wouldn't have touched fishing. But besides that it all comes down to personal choice. Since I'm big on animal husbandry, I really need those auto-petters.
I play on Xbox so can't use any mods.
Getting addicted to games is a good excuse to go MIA.
True. Also getting in on the SDV chat, I've never gone the Jojo route because it just feels so wrong lmao. Feels like selling out to walmart or something haha. But I know a lot of people prefer it for its ease. I actually really like manually petting all my animals even when I have a ton, but I'm also on PC and i assume it's easier that way?
I also have lots of mods though so not sure how those would affect CC vs Joja routes

🦋
First time playing it felt good to kick the corporate world's butt. And it does feel bad for selling out and I really wish there was an easier way to get auto-petters besides doing the Joja Route. Which is the only reason I go that way.
For mods I guess it all depends on how the mods affect gameplay.
