I'm pretty sure I have met you, actually. I'm a VERY off and on player because ADHD and inability to focus on anything for long periods of time, so I'm not here that often...and therefore probably not that memorable. xD

I do usually come back for Morostide and/or Luminaire but I didn't for this last one. Mind was too focused on other games.

Due to the chaos at the house I haven't finished editing the first chapter of Kafka's Men 8. I have been writing my fanfic which is a lot more calming to work on than my book. With my books I focus heavily on word count (so readers get more bang for their buck) and my fic is all about writing how much I feel like.

I'm not sure why our rent is being raised more. If they fixed things without all the hassle we have to put up with, we wouldn't mind it as much.

Oooh, I am so pumped for you that you have a vacation coming up! I totally relate. It took me years to understand that working above "capacity" all the time means "rest" time isn't really restful, because the stress, processing, etc from all day keeps you stuck in a sympathetic nervous system activation. So it's more like "freeze" that productive rest. SO HARD to balance it all sometimes.

Oooh, that's a good approach though - having something that serves still as a creative outlet without burning you out. Having a job that is also my "hobby" / passion, it's important to have ways to keep it enjoyable and inspired.

They sent us a notice they'll be increasing rent next month. Brian walked up to the office.

Now it seems the whole apartment complex is going to get work done on it tomorrow so we're now worried they won't get to us.

Oh goodness! I am sorry, no you can't blame that, my memory just isn't good with the years I've been on this site with long hiatus' throughout.

I was informed yesterday that our modem needed replaced and we are getting a new more updated one free of charge.

I am worried that somehow it won't be that easy to set up... I'm not technology inclined but I hate to have to pay someone to install it though.

With me being WFH my internet is crucial. I think I may have to wait until I'm done with work Friday and pray it's an easy setup without needing a technician come do it...

I'm already stressing myself out over it.

yep and even in my days off work still finds me. It's hard to find a balance... Can't wait for march 7th..

Day off here, been gloomy and rainy. Been doing house hold chores. And waithing for my package to arrive, somewhere beteween 2pm and 6pm Here i call that: grounded for adults.

Now that my move is done, I am really happy and looking forward to life now. I didn't realize exactly what a weight I was carrying and living under until it was gone. Of course I am still grieving for those I have lost, and will continue to do so in various degrees for the rest of my life, but now my entire outlook is brighter and I am the better for it.

Its a lot simpler to do than to say if its like mine. On the modem, first look at the old one. Turn around so you can see the wires hooked up. Take a picture with your phone. Then try to simply un hook any wires connected to the old modem itself, (NOT the other ends) then replace with the new modem and plug in wires back exactly as they were, using pic from phone. If because its new it has a different configuration, you can still see the shapes of the plugs, so follow that. If the modem still doesn't work, it means most likely the wires need replacing too. First the power cord. It's obvious - the one with a plug that goes to the wall or hub. Replace that with the new one. Next is the connection to the computer itself. Just find that wire, tracing with your fingers, then replace it too, plugging in the new one. It should work. If none of this works, your new modem and/or wires are defective (that happened to me. SOOO damned frustrating!) or it was different or more complicated than mine, and I apologize. You can go online and look up troubleshooting with your cable company and choose modem. Then just do what it says. If THAT doesn't work, I suggest you pay a tech. :)

Hopefully it won't increase too badly. I hated that about my rent. The last three or four years it went up quickly and often, at $30 or $40 several times, and once $60 freaking dollars until it was $200+ higher than when it started. Before that for around 17 years it only went up $20 every three years. It totally sucked and quickly went out past my ability to pay it. I had to get help every month until I moved.

Yay for vacation! Sounds like you need the change of pace and relaxation badly. Hope you have fun.

Waves.Hiya! I hope you are doing well! We are combating a seasonal cold here.

Down in the 20's F tonight here. Last night the sky fell and I wondered if our roof would hold off the onslaught of the torrential rain. It kept going for hours, slacking off just a bit every now and then thank Heavens. If things had been a little different we might literally have had feet of snow this morning, which is unheard of here. Or horrible ice - which I hate almost as much as the 100+ days in summer. I love the winter for the most part though. Most often its 60's and 40's, which are my favorites. :)

It is icy wind here. Under freezing. Our furnace was being temperamental, but now it is fixed.

the whole reason we have lived where we do for so many years is the landlord is so good at responding and seems to realize we are good tenants and not price us out.

We're living at our current place as the rent was affordable for us when we first moved in. The rest of the apartments are covered under Section 8 but, due to a number of factors, our house isn't. Though I think they're still saying they're trying to get it covered under Section 8. Which is bull.

Thank you, there is supposed to be a video and paper instructions for the installation. Then there are new cords to go with the modem/ router itself.
