Audio books might be the way to go for now. I could probably start one while I get chores done. I used to listen to audiobooks when I was working and got thru the books in the Outlander series. Now, I binge tv shows lol.

Maybe a squirrel caught his attention while writing them haha. There are the audiobook version, so maybe I can start with those.

Sorry I’ve been quiet, I’ve been sick. First a bad cold that turned into a sinus infection and double ear infection. Now I’m dealing with a bout of diverticulitis…ugh! I sure hope everyone else is doing well!! I’m sleeping a lot, trying to heal and haven’t been on much. Thinking of you all and missing you too.

and I read a lot of audio books. I can listen with a migraine and my eyes closed and if I fall asleep just turn the timer back. It is also good for doing quests on Subeta or playing other games that don’t engage the ears. Many people like them for travel or doing chores. Right now I am listening to a nonfiction about the alimentary track. Gulp by Mary Roach, fun and slightly gross and I don’t want pictures thanks.
I also read a lot of digital and physical books. You don’t have to pick one lane.

OK, excuse my ignorance, what are we getting for the Wizard "bonus" weekend quests?

So a lot of chaotic things are happening at my house. Not only is some major work going to happen in one room due to leakage and we've been moving things into a storage place for the past few days. The rental place is majorly increasing our rent when they're not doing the same to anyone else.

So we're a little worried that we'll have to move and we have nowhere to move to. Moving back with any of our parents is...yeah...not doable. We're below the poverty line so it's not like we can just pick up and go anywhere.

I've been pretty "absent" recently as well. So sorry to hear you've had a sick household, that's no fun. It's hard when you want to compensate for / care for others but are also sick. I hope everyone is feeling much better. Everyone should watch LOTR at least once a year imo haha

There are no words for the loss of a loved one or the resulting grief. Thinking of you, and you are always always welcome to comment or DM if you need someone to talk to. I've found loss and grief so mentally and emotionally overwhelming, sometimes you need a safe space to be seen and supported. The group is that, but sometimes we aren't comfortable putting something so personal and vulnerable out in the open.

It's been really busy :') It's a blessing, but sometimes I do get burned out when it's non-stop. I've had my special foster since Dec 24th, then I've had lodging or lodge & learn dogs for work for the last three weeks (so no days off). It's a blessing for sure, and I am SO thankful to be able to help others. But I'm also running on fumes. Thankfully we have a vacation coming up next week (going to a cabin in the mountains in a small town we love) and I am so ready for it, though I am sad Cody won't be with us. As soon as we get back I'm transporting my foster to her forever home! It's the dream outcome, she's going to have acres of woodlands to roam with a male wolfdog as her partner and her mom is very educated about wolfdogs and very kind hearted! We couldn't have asked for a better outcome! Now praying for my client's foster who I've been trying to help find a home for. Fingers crossed, because we might have a home for him!

Yeah, the US is terrifying atm. Part of me is so overwhelmed and depressed by the news, but I also know that's the goal. So I try to balance my awareness with taking in the positive news (people ARE fighting back, and it's beautiful) and spreading helpful actionable info vs just doom updates. We're strongly considering relocating to CAN, even though it's not "as good" as other places overseas we'd love to go. But atm overseas is cost prohibitive, especially because our animal "babies" who I would never, ever be able to leave behind. We'd have to charter a private flight because poor Atka would not survive a commercial flight, and my 15 year old pup probably wouldn't either.

LOTR is a total comfort movie / story for me. It's so uplifting and beautiful. I cry every time I watch it. I was going to start Matlock with Bates! Looks so fun and reminds me of some of the older mystery type shows and books I love.

I'm so sorry love, it's so hard to lose a friend. But I am glad you had the strength to walk away from something unhealthy and harmful. Home care can feel SO overwhelming. So many details, phone calls, financial juggling, time, etc. We're going through some of that too and it's so hard sometimes to get started because there's TOO MUCH trying to sort itself out in my brain at one time. I hope you've found a way to make things "bite-sized" and minimally stressful! You are such a kind person. I am so glad you get to soak in the joy of helping Barry and seeing his happiness with your gift.

I love and hate that we can all relate to feeling devoid of the energy to chat. It's so beautiful to be part of a group that makes each other feel seen and supported. Congrats on completing Kafka's Men 8! I hope editing is going well! Tolkien is the best and worst to read sometimes haha. The man had such a brilliant mind and left such a legacy, but you really have to be in the right mindset to focus on some parts of his works. Especially for folks (like me) who can't really make images in their mind! It takes so much extra work at times to absorb the details and get a "visual" of the situation.

Yay! Glad you settled on something that will work for you! I find that I'm working on treasure chest items mostly for my pets because I can't get a good story for pretty much any of my pets so I'm expanding their "stories" with items instead...I guess... :D
